Louis: Watch the Nightmare Before Christmas. You'll like it.
I found it on Amazon Prime, and I added it to my watch list.

The trouble is I want to watch it with my wife. We have a few TV shows to keep up with and an occasional movie we watch together. With my unpredictable sleep schedule, we don't get to watch TV together every day. It often takes us two or even three days to watch a movie. I usually end up falling asleep.

With the NFL season kicking off and the Ravens playing this week on Sunday Night Football. We will watch that game on the DVR next week. My wife understands and enjoys football. Being Hungarian she never developed a love of baseball. So, she is lost watching baseball. Like the Angel she is, she will watch baseball with me and politely listen to me ramble on about little, but important things she doesn't understand. I know she doesn't enjoy the game, but she is always happy to sit with me.

My wife and I are both looking forward to watching the New York Giants come to Washington this Sunday at 1pm. The name may change, but we root for Burgandy and Gold! The Ravens are first for us; the Commanders are second. My wife has a better understanding of the NFL than many other fans do. I enjoy talking about football with her.

Luckily for my wife most baseball games are night games, and we both go to bed early. She gets up at 1:30am, just to make me coffee, while I watch baseball. I am so spoiled. Then she finds good paying work on the Amazon App. We usually leave the house at 3am. When we return from work, she takes care of all the things around the house, while I watch baseball. I told you I am spoiled. After dinner, lunchtime for most, we watch TV before going to bed.

Thanks for the description of the movie. I'm looking forward to watching it even more now.
Spoiler: Santa lives!
Thank you, that is a spoiler I welcome.

Any other outcome would be wrong on so many levels and a deal breaker for me. I wouldn't watch it if Santa died!

That is all for me. My sleep schedule is whacked out, again. I watched the Nationals game as I followed my Birds online at MLB.com and I tried to catch up here.

I can follow two games at once, but that pushes my limit. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

Orioles 2 - Dodgers 1 I'll have to wait to watch the replay tomorrow. I am going back to sleep for now,

Finally got a thunderstorm through here. So far there's .6" in the gauge. Bad thing is that we had a momentary power loss from a lightning strike nearby, and the computer went off. I rebooted and I now have Win11 which I wasn't ready to load yet! That and all of my Firefox bookmarks and passwords seem to be missing.:mad:
It's going to take me a couple of days to figure this shit out.:mad::mad:

today I decided to finish up the back doorsteps. Thier 95% done now.
Looking good Swal, thanks for sharing your project with us.

I didn't know vets gave gabapentin.
Both of our Beagles were prescribed gabapentin and an anti-inflammatory for back pain. Beagles are prone to back problems and arthritis as they get old.
I didn't get that kind of response from it, wish I did.
"The ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all" Go ask Alice
Dry mouth - only on Friday and Saturday night
Weight gain - only on Friday and Saturday night
I doubt they are related to gabapentin. ;)

Doesn't seem to work for me
Gabapentin didn't work for me either.
I forgot to take the 4PM Tylenol. (Yes, that's proof it does work)
It works somewhat for me as well. It seems the less I take the more effective it is. One regular strength tablet seems to work as well as two extra strength tablets. With a history of liver problems, I use it sparingly.

@Marlin39 I hope Sugar is feeling better.

Good morning, Everybody!

I mentioned earlier my Birds beat the Dodgers last night. There was more news from last night's game. The good news was Orioles' starting pitcher Dean Kremer bounced back from two rough outings. He pitched three scoreless innings without allowing a hit. The sad news was he left the game with pain in his right forearm. Yet another injury to an Oriole. Only three players from the Orioles opening day roster haven't spent time on the injured list. Dean Kremer was one of them.

Tonight at 7:05pm (eastern time) my Birds will once again host the Dodgers. This is a game to see if you can. It features two top of the rotation guys going head-to-head. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, (I wouldn't try to pronounce that name, but out of respect I used his full name) "Yoshi" will take the hill for the Dodgers. The Orioles will counter with the best starting pitcher in MLB since returning from the injured list in late June, Trevor Rodgers.

Now it's time for me to go, the Autum moon lights my way.

You can go into settings, and go to Update, and choose "go back to Windows 10". It'll only work for a very few days, but it can be done.
When it's time to go to 11, after it's all done upgrading and telling you how great it is, don't forget to go into settings and uncheck and unselect all the privacy-robbing settings you can. Also, if you want 11 to look and behave like 10, go to startallback.com, download and install it, and after it installs, choose "remastered 10" or 7, and whatever you like that will help you deal with the new OS.

Have a great day! ;)

Good morning all!

Clear and a cool 45F. High is going to be around 65F.

I'm up this early due to a volleyball tournament. My daughter has to be to the school to be on the bus at 5:45. The place we are
heading is about an hour and a half away. Wife and I will follow in the car later.

Other than the tournament nothing else will go on around here today. We will probably be gone most of the day.

Unfortunately no train time today!

Have a safe day everyone!

I bought a new computer with Windows 11 a few months ago and love it. Everything is so much faster. I also bought a refurbished Windows 10 computer for my train layout. I'll be going down to the basement to set that all up soon. Golf season is coming to a close for me soon and I'll be heading down to the basement for some model train time. Swal

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with most of their fingers left

Troy of the 10 fingers here (hope those aren't famous last words)

Been watching woodworking shop infrastructure vids. I'm realizing the limits the what I can do with a cheap miter saw on a folding workmate stand, and a contractor style portable table saw. Trying to figure out how to maximize accessibility while maintaining small footprint for storage in a tight garage.

Here's a couple of vids I watched. Not sold on the designs, but they are what I'm after in storage to expandability.

Anyone have better ideas?

Good afternoon all. A large coffee and a shot of rum please, Flo.
Bathroom is finished. Cannot use it until tomorrow. We are ensuring everything is dry first.

Dawn is still not 100%, but improving slightly.

Leeds Sovereign Street Station has a new station building. More in keeping with the City. Now to fit the scenery around it.

Good morning gang!

68° with sun poking through an overcast sky, heading to the mid 80s today. Missed the WMRHS meeting last night. A scratchy throat started yesterday just after lunch, by 5 pm I could barely talk! I stayed home with some hot chicken pot pie for dinner. Wife has been fighting a sinus infection for a few days, I think the bug jumped to me cuz she feels better. Still, writing this I am at work until 2pm. I can feel like crap here or at home, but I get paid for feeling bad here.

We have Windoze 10 at work and at home. I bought a refurb mini tower with Win11 on it for the layout when the old unit died. I hate it, no I loathe it. Trying to do anything on it is like reaching around your elbow to scratch you ass. Gonna keep my Win10 machine til death do us part.

Good morning. Yes I’m up before 7:30am for the 1st time in a few weeks! No idea why my sleep schedule is so screwed up. 43f degrees feels like 40 and only headed to 63 today. But it will be sunny

I went to Volleyball on campus last night and Chicago State barely showed up. The Wisconsin Badger coach played almost every healthy player on the roster. 2 starters did not play and he let the back ups play the 2nd and 3rd sets. That is the 1st time I have seen him do that in the now 10th season of being a season ticket holder and about time. Even at the professional college level I believe when you’re destroying another team, play everyone.

Today I am a slot car attendant! Me and 3 other grandparents and another mom of one of the racers will chaperone! Of the 24 racers 6 have soccer games after 4pm. The 4 organizers didn’t think of the Badger football (3pm) on campus until after they invited the racers. The races are scheduled from 9 to 2:30 with a 30 minute lunch break. 6 of the kids + the 4 organizers will stay to around 7 when their parents should pick them up after the football game. The pool is open and the SIL said the water temperature was at 82 which should be fine for these kids. The twins we always used for life guard work in years past will be here to watch the pool. They are now Sophomores at UW but could use the money they told me, as Freshman last year they were too cool for pool duty!

It’s going to be a long day

Morning all,

51° and partly cloudy. Pretty foggy on my way in this morning. Servers are updating as I type this. 3 of the 5 are ready to boot, so it will be another I gotta find something to fill my time. Does make early next week easier though.

While doing some laundry and listening for the pump to cycle, I freed the final 2 switches. My previous ballasting attempts got some glue and ballast in the hinges and I needed to get them released. I will say the asking my dentist for any old dental picks was a good move on my part. They may no longer be safe on teeth, but make picking glued medium ballast out of tight places much easier.

58°F/54°F this morning at 0738. Good morning all. 75°F for a perfect high today. Yesterday was only 72°F. We got very little rain out of the last front that passed. Hopefully we can do better on the next one. If this rain times out right, even if the grass gets enough to keep from dying further, it will be too cool for it to grow. But it's still early in the month. I don't image the lawnmower will be silent for the rest of the season quite yet.

Good Morning All. Cloudy and a frigid 61°, frigid for here this early in September. Light rain all around us, but not here, yet! Chilly day forecast for today with the high just in the mid-70's, back to normal tomorrow with low-90's coming later in the week. Last night's thunderstorm ended up leaving me .75" in the gauge.

I ended up going to the primary care doctor yesterday morning, as they had a couple of cancellations; my original appointment was next Tuesday. A blood draw, another EKG and additional discussions regarding my elevated BP. I also walked out with a new prescription to replace a med that I have been taking for several years. He also suspended the PT sessions that he had originally prescribed. The nurse practioner also pointed out to him that I had lost 10# since my August 12 visit!
It worked out well because the hearing aid center that is next closest to me is only a couple of miles from him. The bad news from there was that they couldn't fix my non-working left ear. It is being sent to the lab and the estimate is 15-18 days. They don't do loaners so I'll be half-hearing for a while. Sadly as well, is that my 4-year warranty expired 11 days ago so I will have to pay $250 when it is returned, plus a 96 mile round trip! Beats $1600 for a new one though.
I posted the other day that my iPod in the train shed crapped out, so I bit the bullet and purchased a refurbished one through Amazon. It arrived yesterday. So that adventure lays ahead of me as well in the next few days. At 160 GB, it will only hold about 40% of the overall collection, but that will take a few months to randomly cycle through.
I had planned on mowing today until last night's rain showed up in yesterday morning's forecast. I'll have plenty of time to devote on computer projects and head out to the train shed when my eyes start to cross from looking at the screen.

I was out in the train shed yesterday for a little while. Mostly I ran some trains. I switched a couple of industries that I haven't switched in probably 9-10 months and out came cars draped in spider webs! The industries are along the back of the layout and the spurs are in a 3" wide alley between the buildings and the backdrop. This part of the layout is also 30" wide, so they are quite out of the way. So over to the workbench for cleaning they went. I also removed the buildings and cleaned and vacuumed everything back there. If you are familiar with my quarterly layout cleaning routine, this section isn't due until Q1 of 2026 next January.

Terry - I never could find the "go back to Win10" setting, but I fiddled around for 45 minutes this morning and finally got it back. I don't know how as I don't write this stuff down. Much of my stuff is backed up on external drives like all of my photos (26 GB) that I backed up just last Tuesday, and my 80,000+ mp3's (365 GB), but not some other stuff. I need to back it all up on my recent laptop acquisition, especially the database with 29 years of railcar maintenance. I can recreate that as I have it all on paper, but what a hassle that would be.
Marlin - Good luck with Sugar and best wished for your gastritis recovery.
Interesting fungus that you're growing, and some excellent looking Spinach. Between wind and excessive heat, mine never looks that good, but it's still edible.

Ex-Pink Floyd singer/bass player Roger Waters is 82 today.
Everyone have a good Saturday.
