Good morning all!

Happy Friday, the weekend is almost upon us.

Not quite as cool this morning. Currently 55F heading up to a high of 65F. Should be a decent day.

Volleyball last night was a success. They shook off their Tuesday loss and played very well. They are now 3-1.

Not sure what the day will bring, its too soon to tell

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 73°. No real changes in our forecast, still supposed to cool off dramatically tomorrow for a few days. Did not hit 101° yesterday like predicted, only 97°. Pool felt good at 85°.

Nothing unusual about yesterday's grocery trek, still bummed out about the hearing aid center being closed. Have to take care of that today. PT took care of the afternoon and I did not visit the train shed.

Flannel???

Troy - I wish that everyone followed those deaf awareness rules. Especially my wife!
Tom (Cambria) - Enjoy your last Friday off. Soon it will be time for the snowplows.

Not much else to comment on since I don't follow baseball and I am not a gunsmith.

Everyone have a great Friday.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those trying to find their Git-up and/or Go...

Been a busy day here already.

Woke at 2:30 for the piddle run, and only dozed after that. Gave up at 4 am and made coffee/breakfast.

Spent some time with Chatty the AI, and we mapped out some characters and plot points for the NEXT book. It ties into the current one I'm working on. So there needs to be some continuity on the plot points.

After the shower, headed out for an Amish donut, then to the hardware. Realized I needed to get a Nail Punch/Nail set (whatever it's called, I saw both names). Need to finish off the baseboards on the landing. Picked up some white wood filler while I was there as well. Came home, and wife was out on a walk. Started laundry (Mattress pad day is the first friday of the month).

And then almost stepped in cat puke on the second step down. At least he didn't pee there.

That was another half an hour of cleaning it up, running the small carpet cleaner to get as much of the carpet cleaning spray up as possible, then cleaning the machine.

The boss man for the demo team of gamers I used to help out is in town for a distributor open house. I need to run down to see him and turn in some extras for tourney prizes and a few odds and ends I'm donating to their tourney cause.

No idea what I'm doing after that. Probably lunch then a nap. Finish any extra laundry. I've got two episodes left in Season 1 of Wednesday Addams. Excellent series. I've seen enough spoilers to know who the big bads are. If it were a novel, I'd want more foreshadowing on some of the plot twists and reveals. But an episodic TV format, I can forgive the heavy handed way some things are scripted.

Good morning fellow modelers and our missing author, Troy where r you unless in the 3 pages I went through I missed ur posting! Weather has definitely changed in my part of Wisconsin. Low over night was only 52 instead of the mid 40’s the guessing app predicted. It’s 54f degrees now heading to a balmy 60

I did go to Volleyball on campus last night. The Badgers prevailed beating University of California Davis in 3 sets but really struggled in the 1st 2 sets that could easily have gone the other way. Again tonight on campus as the Lady Badgers will play Chicago State

Enjoy the day

Edit: Troy posted about the time I did…

Good morning,

A chilly 42, windy, mostly overcast. Somehow our big pond became clear over the last few days. Never looked murky, but now looks like a clear lens. We got .4 inch rain overnight.

The new steps for the train shed turned out pretty well. I cut down a big tree with a straight bole and made some solid wood components, and it passed the "wife" test.

Easy day today, ready for my second cup of coffee then putz around the yard, probably work on making the rest of the tree into firewood. Run the trains some.

Be safe, Dave LASM

Good Morning All!
54F @ 60% Might get to 81F later.

Well, none of my recent gyrations did anything for ear or hearing aid. Maria suggested some sort of ear infection, so went to Doc as I ran out of options. BP was 128/82 HR 71 and O2 95%, good so far. Looked in my ear and immediately stated "I know why you can't hear". Wax. She did the H2O2 thing with a dish under the ear to catch stuff. You should have seen the wax in the fluid! Did it again. You should have seen the wax in the fluid. Surprised it wasn't viewable from the outside. Anyway, checked the other ear - perfectly clean with notta drop of wax. So "What gives" said I. Talked about environment, sleep sides and stuff like that. We put in our window AC unit the day before all this started and my sinus started dripping. When that happens, usually fluid gets into the inner ear. The ear then ..um.. vents the fluid to the ear canal structure/skin and with some sort of magic it gets turned into wax in the canal. Usually sleep 45-15-40% ( Left, Back, Right ) so for some reason the left ear filled up and did not move the wax outward as it should. No clue why my normal cleaning did nothing for that ear but cleaned the other. Did find out the wax is water soluble and was told to quit using swabs. Knew the swab part. So, next time, turn the force down on the shower hand spray thingie, and douche the ears. Maria does not have to yell at me anymore!

Glad we took Sugar to the vet yesterday. Our vet hasn't seen her in 4 months, but noted the loss of muscle not just in the rear, but in the front legs now. Her weight is unchanged over the last 2 years, but it should be less with the muscle loss. We have her down to 2.5 cups of kibble plus chicken or turkey, so the only thing left is to cut down in between meal treats. Anti-inflammatory meds are going to be increased to 2x daily and gabapentin as needed when she's showing pain.

If we didn't do the surgeries her quality of life would have been severe with both ACL's torn, but it's just hard to see the negative physical changes since she had the surgeries last year. We still firmly believe the amount of anesthetic between the 2 surgeries, 4 months apart, messed her up. She has drastically aged and it's tough to see.

Camera equipment is ready at the gunshop. Going down this morning to figure out the camera and Gunbroker posting process. I have a couple neat oddities to post along with everything else. A Chicago Firearms Protector Palm pistol with mother of pearl inlay, a Remington Elliot's 5-shot Ring Trigger, and a Stinger .25acp Pen Gun. The Marlin letter, from the Cody Firearms Museum, showed up. All the special order features are listed, but for the checkering which is pretty normal for Marlin. Interestingly, the rifle shipped 9/10/1895.

Yesterday was the last 90 degree day of the year. Lots of smoke from all the fires and humidity was about 60%. Rain and 70's to start in a few days.

With all the dog stuff, travel stuff coming up, my eye issue, and my mom's eye surgery it's no wonder I've developed the start of bout of gastritis again.

I am as well. 2 days in a row!

Hope this trend doesn't continue!
Must be something going around.

I woke up at 7:30 this morning with heartburn. I ate a Boston Markets chicken pot pie last ( they were on sale ) and it stayed with me. Don't think I'll be having anymore. Rolaids has seemed to have done its job.

I almost forgot the difference in the AmEx cards names. I started out with the "charge" card (total bill due at the end of each month) but later I was offered the "Blue for Business" credit card. Other than raising the interest rates, I have always been very happy with service from AmEx. Their customer service has always been top notch and I always got to talk with an English speaking, real person whenever I contacted them.

Well sure enough I had to relocate my two mainlines a bit closer to the front of my upper level layout to make room for the Champion/SWIFT packing plant. I got everything up and into position and cleaned up the Woodland Scenics roadbed bits left behind. I'll vacuum up the mess later today, re-drill holes for feeders and turnout wires, then re-glue the roadbed. As it turned out, there will only be a minimum of track cutting and re-fitting. All in all, it looks to be less of a chore than I originally expected. I only had to move/relocate about 5 foot of track on a curved section, on each mainline.

Not much else planned for today. I already fed the outdoor cat so I am returning to bed to finish my nights sleep. I didn't go to bed until 2 this morning.

By the way, September 2nd was the 80th anniversary of the signing of the peace agreement between the Allied forces and Japanese forces on the battleship Missouri. There was a great YouTube video showing the event from colorized films never shown to the public before. If you have any interest in WW2 history, the video is a must see. I'm sure you can find it still up, sorry I did not get the publishers name. One of the things I noticed was a Japanese soldier in the group wearing black high top boots............... with spurs.

Everyone have a great day and weekend..............John

Ordered two 2 function decoders with dimming. Easy to program?
I assume they’re easy to program. I didn’t do anything other than set the address in my installations so far. And that was easy.

I didn’t more advanced programming after running and seeing what changes I’d like in effect and without a running layout — just a short test track— I’ve not gotten that.

Morning all,

59° and raining.

Site glitch near as I could tell.

Been a busy morning. Son called last night saying he was in trouble with a neighbor. Seems one of his dogs got into the neighbor's yard, tried to dig her way out and busted up 3 fence pickets. He needed to know if I had any. I did, but as it turned out, he need 1x6, I had 1x8. Bought 3 new pickets and fixed the neighbors fence. Daughter said thanks dad. 😁 I got that done before the rain started. Then the plumber called and said he was on his way. Found my mistake and fixed it un under 10 minutes. Seems the side of the pump where the float is was turned too close to a sidewall and was able to catch. He loosened my clamp and turned the whole assembly almost a quarter turn. So far, 3 test fills, 2 loads of laundry and a bio-break while monitoring seems to have problem resolved. 1/2 hour bill call.

Gotta head too the office soon.

A late good morning to you. Cool again last night with a low in the mid 50s. Currently 72°F/52°F with light rain expected later in the afternoon. Wind is NW at 5kts expected to turn north after the front passes.

Wiesn, or Oktoberfest is upon us once again and begins in two weeks.

This beer holder arrived yesterday and I needed to make a test run with it to make certain it was functioning correctly before the big day arrives. It works!

Good late morning from Arkansas to you all. 77 here, supposed to hit 89 then start cooling off with storms expected. Girl's volleyball team has been playing much larger schools and have only won one game so far this year, but it is now better than last year's record. :)
Nothing planned for today, working tomorrow.
May God bless you all.

Still happening on occasion. Bob is probably playing with web server rate limiting. Still have 11,000+ guests, plus the 25ish of legit users.
