Luckily I've not noticed any performance issues today.

It's a bit cooler today at 85F at 11:30am. I don't know what the high will be but it's been 90s the last week.

I did get a "technical screening interview" appointment sent to me yesterday for the big company I mentioned earlier. This Tuesday. It's tentative pending the technical team confirming the time works for them. It's already been adjusted once. The recruiter assigns a team member from the technical team and a time slot based on the teams calendars, but will then confirm there is no conflict directly with the person, and if there is, will change it.

I mentioned a water leak on our linear "infinity" drain in our wet room. I think I found where it was leaking and applied Semco waterproof membrane with a brush. I need to apply a second coat and then clean the drain and make sure the edges where the tile is and may not be fully covered by the metal flashing is also waterproofed so that the mortar doesn't get wet. Tedious but needs to be done. Also need to see if I can find a 1cm high flat metal flashing about 6-7 feet long so I can install it on the outside tile edge inside the drain in case there is exposed mortar and the water flowing over the edge won't eat that away. It could have been installed better but it is what it is (I didn't install it and the person that did shall remain nameless and role-less).

Tons of work on the house this weekend. No rest for the weary ;) 😂 😅 :)

Well before I dive into the trolley project I decided to build a cradle. Now hold on, I’m way passed having a youngin 🤣🤣

This is going to be a 1/12th scale miniature.

Milled up some rift cut red oak so should have some interesting grain to it.

Turned the finals this morning and then started on getting rough stock ready to make the parts.

Should be a straight forward project. Few mortise and tenon joints and some panels.

This is what I have done today.

I spent the last 2 days taking up all the 40lb pavers rearranging them and adding new ballast but today I decided to finish up the back doorsteps. Thier 95% done now. I worked on my model railroad for about an hour last night fixing the lift gate. The wood swelled up over the winter and I was unable to close it, but it's fixed now. I'll post a few photos tomorrow. Well, howdy there internet people and those who collect Molds, Spores, and Fungi

It's Troy again...

Finished the Wednesday Addams season one. Loved it despite some plotting holes or rushed development of themes.

Louis: Watch the Nightmare Before Christmas. You'll like it.
In Halloween Town, the Pumpkin King, Jack Skelington does his spooky job well, but feels there is more out of life he could be doing. When he stumbles across the magical doorways between the various holiday towns, he explores Christmas town and wants to try his hand at bringing joy to children instead of scaring them.

Well, as happens in all Tim Burton productions, things go horribly wrong, but the wrongs are eventually righted, and things are put "mostly" right. There are some great scenes and characters. Spoiler: Santa lives! But not for want of the real bad guy trying to do him in... And there is a romance, and a mad scientist, and a walking bathtub. It's great fun.

In other news, went to pizza at one of our local Mom and Pop places. No pics, so use your immagination for a hand-tossed pizza. Brought home leftovers.

Wife said she wants to board the cat when we head to Vegas in NOV. So I found a place I like, but they don't give cats a big run like they do with dogs.

Now wife is thinking we may pay a pet sitter to come to our home 1/day and give him food, scritches and rubs, and clean the boxes. Maybe... she's afraid the cat will pee on stuff if we're not around. I say he'll be fine at home. So, we'll see what she decides tomorrow. My guess is we'll be back to pet sitter.

I didn't know vets gave gabapentin. That's what I was taking. I'm pretty sure I didn't go to the vet... :)
The surgeon had her on 400mg after the first surgery. She was so out of it we thought she was dead, but she wasn't in any pain. He said go ahead and drop it down to where she's comfortable. Even with a 100mg she's down for the day. 100mg is about normal for a cat, not a 115# dog.

Easy day here, caught up on some reading, then we got a memo from Casey's [gas station chain] that since today was National Cheese Pizza day, they had Large Cheese Pizzas for $10. So we decide to do it. When I ordered it, it asked me if I wanted to use my credits. Turned out I had over $9 in credits! So we had dinner for 65 cents and gas.

Speaking of pain, my body reminded me I forgot to take the 4PM Tylenol. (Yes, that's proof it does work). Trying to hold out until 10PM before I tale the night dose.

I was in the train room, trying to pick up where I left off before the surgery. Working on the background flower mill. All windows in place, need to apply glazing and dark background. Front of building needs all the things that make it a flour mill.

Also ran a couple of yard engines. Suffering from lack of work.

Yep, It was prescribed to our dog this winter when she was spayed.

Worked like a charm!
Glad it worked. I didn't get that kind of response from it, wish I did.

Nerve Pain? Doesn't seem to work for me, but II may find myself back on it. BTW: we have a cat sized dose, used as a tranquilizer for our cat, especially when she has a Vet appointment.
Yep. I was on pregabalin at the same time for a while until they stopped the gabapentin. I may ask to switch to gabapentin as the interweb says that pregabalin has the following side effects:
  • Dizziness - yes
  • Sleepiness - no
  • Headache - yes
  • Tiredness - yes
  • Fluid retention - don't think so since I have to go a lot
  • Nausea - no
  • Blurred vision - sometimes
  • Dry mouth - only on Friday and Saturday night
  • Weight gain - only on Friday and Saturday night
  • Difficulty concentrating - yes
  • Increased appetite (in children) - they're both fat
