Went to the shop to check Gunbroker emails and this is what awaited me. They picked up a bunch of law enforcement trade-ins while I was out.

A desktop full of Aero Precision SBR uppers and several tubs of Glocks. They're all pretty mint and I think the uppers had cans on them because most of the muzzle devices are just half way threaded on.

So I had to make a doctor's appointment with a new doctor today. Lots of questions. A sign of the times. She tells me this is new and strange questions, but I have to ask you this. What gender are you? We're you born this gender. Are you still this gender? Do you still identify as this gender. Swal
Curious minds want to know, how did you answer. 😈 😈

The wife got asked the very same questions at a visit about 2 years ago.

Lippe may be cheaper since they take of the VAT for outside of Europe shipments.

Modelbahn Union is the non N scale arm of DM-Toys. They don’t take the VAT off for outside Europe but they had less expensive shipping in my experience. If you’re buying one thing you need to see which way is cheaper. If you’re buying several items then Lippe is almost always cheaper because of the VAT removal and spreading the shipping cost across a lot of items. Their shipping was never outrageous.

Tariffs anyway you go.

I have never been charged VAT by either company. Shipping has been the same for both for at least seven years. Flat rate UPS 3-Day for €27,5. I've never paid a nickel more from either one of these businesses.

Until the tariffs went into effect, I was ordering from one or the other of these companies at least once a month. If I was working on a scenery project, sometimes twice.

Except for track (not turnouts), practically my entire layout is from Germany.

Unless it's the camera angle, they don't look all that short to me. Are they all 12" with the 2" flash hider? Or 14" with 2" flash hider? What Glocks did you get? G22s? 17s? Let us know when they go to GB please.

I think that these are required Medicare questions now, not questions that the doctor thinks or wants to ask. It's similar to the depression and falling down questions that they began to ask about a decade ago.
You are correct sir. I don't know what they are required to ask now. But when I used to go with my mom they had more than a few. Have you felt depressed? Do you own a gun?..." My mom just took them in stride.
Don't we have "The right to arm Bears"?
That was too funny! 🤣 Scary if you think about it!

I found the manual for this and can see how the power is picked up. Yeah, I understand the difficulty. Wish I could see the electrical board underside and see if there are any other areas where wires can be soldered. It would be just a power buss.

For the trucks, I'd solder wires to the underside of the tabs or further down so that they don't bind up the board after the wires go on. Don't need to go that small with the wires. Stranded would be better since this will be moving around.

I need to get some magnifying eye-balls too.

That's an awesome looking loco!

What I had given a passing thought to, was drilling through the solder pads on the underside of the board if there is not a trace on the top of the board to interfere with the hole. Then, I can bend these tabs outboard to 90°, or if that is not possible because of side clearance, shorten them to half of what they are now, solder wires to them and route the wires through the drilled holes in the pads and solder on the top of the board.

I would have to also have a short piece of rigid solid-core wire soldered to the pad underneath and routed through the hole and bent appropriately and secured to the top of the board with CA so I have something to solder the new wires to.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Or, using those same drilled holes through the pad just large enough for a short piece of copper catenary wire to use as a binding post for the new wires, and cut four small notches on the edges of the circuit board to route the new wires from the pickup tabs to the new binding posts.

Ideas, ideas. Still mulling this over, but I like the second idea best so far.

I can't believe how they engineered this mess.

Camera angle. They're a combination of 12" & 14". Nothing p&w on the ends. The FH are just a muzzle thread protector. None of them look like they saw very much range time.

I didn't check the Glocks, but they look like a combination of several models.

My old girl friend called me last night. I missed the call, so I called her a few minutes ago. She picked up a stray dog off the street. She called the Dog shelter, and they told her it was full and they might have to put the young dog down. She wasn't about to do that, so she took it to the vet and has it home. I told her tell me what the bill is and I'll pay it. What else could I do? Swal

Call the local Yorkshire Terrier rescue. They will come and take care of it.

Took it to the vet and did they scan for a chip?

Are they all 5.56?

And remember don't use Bear Spray like Bug Spray, you won't like the results.

Slept in this morning and it felt really good. 55 here and raining til tomorrow so the Missus and I are staying in today. Goal for the day is to drink coffee.

Marlin No chip. They told her to put ad in the paper for 10 days and if no one claims it and it's hers not that she needs another dog. I'm thinking I may drive down there for her birthday in 2 weeks and bring the dog home. She wanted me to come down for her birthday anyway. I told her maybe next year but now maybe this year. Swal

I can see a romantic story in the making. 😇

That's a good deal with Modelbahn Union since they're run by the same guy who does DM-Toys and DM-Toys dies not subtract the VAT (or didn't last time I used them) but had cheaper flat rate shipping. (DM-Toys is their N scale concern -- some of the stuff is scale agnostic so you get store brand Modelbahn Union stuff from DM-Toys that is N or scale agnostic --- https://www.dm-toys.de/en/profile.html )

Lippe had the 27.50 euro flat rate UPS and that was always nice. I always made sure to place large orders at once to spread that shipping across a lot of items, so that shipping was inconsequential in the price of any item. Lippe has been my major go-to with Modellbahn Kramm being another one I've used multiple times. I've used DM-Toys (Modellbahn Union) for things on sale, for their store store brand DCC decoders (they have special versions of D&H decoders made for them with fewer functions etc and sold less expensively) and for things they have that no one else has in stock. German stuff has gotten a lot more expensive and is in any case a lot more expensive than Japanese so I've not done a shipment in a few years. My last was a DM-Toys that had a Fleischmann SBB locomotive on close out and 20 of their store brand DCC decoders. I really wanted their decoders but with their flat rate shipping I added the close out locomotive :)

i"m going to assume that they are 5.56 being Aero Precision.
and being police trade-ins. Most police departments aren't adventurous with things like firearms. They'll be 5.56 or 223 chambers. Most likely 5.56.

The hard part is that being short barrels, you need to permanently affix a muzzle device to make it 16" or have registered SBR receivers to put them on, and with the "constructive intent" BS just having one and a normal rifle can get you in trouble.
