Good Morning All. Slightly foggy and 64°, heading into the upper 80's again today.
Continued to mow yesterday, not that any area needs it too badly, but we'll be gone for a week so it needs to get done. Today, I'll finish the rest, about 30 more minutes. Need to do a load of laundry early and I'll begin packing a bag to take on the trip.
Stock market made a partial recovery yesterday from Friday's massacre. I made back 85% of what I lost, but the pre-market numbers this morning don't look good at the moment.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued on both of my current projects. I finished the rehab of the small area occupied by the Golden Dragon Chinese take-out business and put everything back in place. That corner with the Whitewater Brewery across the road is completed. At least for now. I'll be looking for a couple more vehicles for the brewery's parking lot today.
While I had the take-out place off the layout, I tested the lighting that I had installed but never hooked up years ago. It can barely be seen illuminating the two figures inside in this picture taken at the workbench.
And like many details on my layout, it can't really be seen unless you know that it is there. And, while I have some lighting buss's to some parts of the layout, only one has actually been hooked up; but I never use it! Maybe one day I will head out there at night and see how it all looks! I have perhaps 50 structures with lights installed all together; under a dozen are powered so far. I re-discover many of them when it comes time to remove them for their cleaning routine.
On that project, I cleaned all of the remaining track in the staging yard and vacuumed it yesterday, completing that phase of the project. Today I will move all of the trains back and free up both the main line and several passing sidings.
Joe - My PCP's staff has been incompetent since I first started using him over 20 years ago. I have had insurance claims and lab test payments denied because someone in the office used the wrong code on the form. Back in the 80's my wife used to do insurance for a different doctor, and she now has to call the PCP's office and tell them how to file the claim so that it gets paid. She's been successful in all but one of the three dozen or so instances. It also takes 2 calls to get a medication refill processed correctly many times. This particular time it took 4 calls total.
Todd - I've tried some of these new-fangled "better" mousetraps before, but I have learned that nothing works better than the tried and true Victor brand trap.
Terry/Chad - Regarding the LGB trains that my SIL's husband bought for investment. The real scenario is that his step daughter knows the value and if she has any input on the estate, I have given her a few contacts in the Dallas area who are reputable resellers.
Everybody have a great Tuesday.
