My buddy had a pace maker. He smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish. He lived it up (may be too much). His boss came out to visit us and told me that my buddy had passed. When they held the funeral, he didn't know who the wife was and who the GF was, so he didn't say anything.

This is pretty much consistent with what I’ve been reading. Thanks
I've had some experience with ablation, having it done twice after an episode of a-flutter. First time corrected the flutter but left me with a-fib. A second procedure corrected the a-fib but it came back. A-flutter leaves you very weak. (Doctor came in and first thing he asked me is "do you feel like s#1t?"). I'm now living with a-fib and I'm good with it. I just get tired quickly and wonder how much it has to do with the heart issue and how much with just being 70 years old.

Good evening folks, 68 here after a sunny day that 84 here today. Had a Men's Prayer Breakfast at Church this morning, then into work. We were pretty busy all day, which is a good sign for our local economy. Watching the Cubs v Brewers game, gotta pull for Milwaukee as they lost a great guy this year in Bob Uecker who was one of baseball's truly great people. Plus I'm a White Sox fan and Cub hater [grew up on the South Side]!

I like the way you think. You were rewarded with a great game and the outcome you hoped for. I only now started watching the replay of the game.

It's great to see you stick with the White Sox! We have a similar rivalry here in Baltimore with Washington. I'm the oddball (nothing new) I follow the Orioles primarily, but i root for the Nationals too. I also follow the Ravens and the Commanders.

I'm not the guy you want to go to a ball game with. I will stand up and applaud any great play regardless of whether it is home team or away. I have gotten a lot of dirty looks. Fortunately, God gave me the size to keep it to dirty looks.

I have to go with the Brewers, the Dodgers lost my respect when they left Brooklyn. They did beat my Cleveland Indians, in the 1954 World Series. Its too bad that I lost my team.

Well howdy there internet peeps and those not in Springfield OH

It’s Troy again, typing on a tiny keyboard for my iPad… at least it’s a real keyboard and not the on-screen one.

Game Con was a success, Lost a little money, but we made a “swag bag” for the attendees since it was the 30th year for the convention. That was an additional expenses that ate up the normal profit. But, it’s about community, not the money in the long run.

Going to run for another term on the board. I’m the only rep from Indiana. So I figure I’ll give them a voice for another three years.

Waiting until Dunkin Donuts opens before I head out on the road. Driving major highway through Dayton area for the first half an hour, so lots of lights to see by. Don’t want to drive in the dark on rural highway. So it’ll be donut time to give the sun some time to wake up.

I’ll post pics later, after I’m home on friendly internet. Had some interesting games.

Good morning all!

43F heading up to a high of 73F.

Today the 3 of us are riding the Amtrak to downtown Chicago. We do this several times a year but have not done it yet this year. Since
my daughter has a 4 day school weekend we figured it was the perfect time. Not sure what we are going to do yet since this was kind
of a last minute decision.

Have a safe day everyone!

I grew up on the southside! 67th and Hamlin and then the southwest suburb of Oak Forest. I loved the Sox but never hated or disliked the Cubs. But being in Wisconsin over 50 years and in college when Bud Selig purchased the team and moved them to Milwaukee it’s been easy to root for the Brew Crew. Bob Uecker was a hoot at times but what people forget is how great a baseball announcer he was. Just a pleasure to listen to on the radio

Still in my heart White Sox 1st

Jim as a Baltimore Colt fan I understand completely. We never forget these things.

I'm rooting for the Brewers as well. Other than the fact that they spend too much money I have nothing against the Dodgers. But I do enjoy the way the Brewers play the game. Although I would like to see Clayton Kershaw get a chance to pitch and go out on a high note.

Good morning from Wisconsin. It’s 48f degrees now and they say 70 later! The WeatherChannel app also says it’s sunny and clear. This is one of those times they need to step outside and check the sky. We have heavy clouds and I can’t see the sun…

Not as busy today. Hockey on campus at 1pm as #1 Badgers take on #4 Minnesota Duluth again. Yesterday’s game was let’s say heart stoppingly exciting. Badgers down 3-2 with 38 seconds left. The Badger ladies scored to tie and 30 seconds later score again to win in regulation time. The heart of champions! The goalies on each team are ranked 1 and 2 in the college hockey. The Badger goalie just didn’t seem herself yesterday but the Duluth’s goalie played great. But uncharacteristically made a huge mistake on the Badger 1st goal. Still she stopped 47 of the 51 shots she faced. The final 2 goals she let in were more because the Badgers just overwelmed her. I expect better Badger goalie play today and more goals by the Badgers as knowing their coach so well he’ll do some tweaking. He’ll have to as the Badgers did lose 2 of their best players to IMO dirty plays that injured them. One of the girls came back and scored the tying goal but not the other who literally crawled off the ice yesterday. The Badgers do not disclose injuries in any sport but Football. Coach when we have dinner Monday also will not say what it is

We will probably miss the 1st quarter of the Packer game as it starts at 3:25pm. I will turn the radio on for Terry. I have no problem not watching but between the Badgers Women hockey and the Packers she will do everything possible not to miss watching them.

We are missing the grandson’s soccer game this morning because it’s 30+ miles away and at 9am. His team won both games yesterday over teams aged 14/15 from Illinois and Minnesota versus his team which is in the 11/12 age group. Special invite to this tournament. The organization needed a team to fill in as one team had to drop out. They soundly beat the Illinois team 5-0. They won the second game 3-2 with the g/s getting all 3 goals.

I walked into the train room yesterday just for a pop. I keep uncaffienated drinks in a refrigerator under a part of the layout. No stopping at the bench, no lifting of a throttle. I may get in there for an hour this morning before we leave at noon for the 1pm hockey. I would like to add the upper cross braces and ironwork to the Swing Bridge project before closing out the day. Tomorrow, Monday morning I want to spray a light coat of silver on the bridge and then in the afternoon start the weathering process

Be well

Good Morning all. Looks like clear skies and 62°, might hit 91° later on - just 89° yesterday. Should stay like this for another week at least.

Finally put the cover on the pool yesterday, it's not that difficult to do once the wind cooperates. Been overdue but I've just been waiting for the right day when I didn't have to leave for something else. Today I'll do some more mowing since I'll be out of town next week. Parts of the yard need it again, mainly the remote areas that do not have the lush Bermuda Grass.
I just noticed the small icon in the bar above the reply box has got a blinking dot in it. It's the "Save" looking icon just to the left of the "Preview" one. While I see the icon all of the time, I have never noticed the blinking dot before. Apparently it's an indicator that it's saving a draft which I knew the software did.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I finished up the ground cover behind and alongside the brewery. Went from this:

To this:

I removed the water tank and I'm not sure that it will come back. This is the side of the building next to the driveway.

Then I spent the better part of 30 minutes looking for my peel & stick striping supplies. I cleaned and organized a part of the train shed about 6 months ago and forgot where I put them! Finally found them, but it was too late to start on that part.
Meanwhile on the layout cleaning project, I ran the Woodland Scenics Tidy Track wand over all of the staging yard tracks and vacuumed the entire area. I'll start moving the trains back into the yard today.

Troy -

I thought that you were backing off the gaming?
Mike - Have a safe trip to Chicago.

Everyone have a great day. I hope to be grilling later on.

Morning all,

Wife said we had a mouse in the garage Thursday afternoon. She said it wasn't her day to deal with it. So I set the snap traps, and the bait disappeared clean, traps still set. I wiggle them and they snap. Rebait and reset, bait gone again. So I go and buy some glue boards. This morning I had 2 in the glue traps. Their demise was quick. Wife a bit squeamish about how, but I said you left it to me...New glue boards set.

Conference was ok, not much new happening. Making crackpot BBQ beef for lunch. Church roast on sale for 7.99 per pound. Wife mentioned I hadn't smoked a brisket in a while. After seeing a whole (packer) for $110 for just under 17 pounds, it will be a while i smoke a full brisket again. Last ones I bought were still under $1 a pound.
