Please note, this vibration started after about 4 years on my old set of tires. Those were Goodyear tires. What I'm trying to say is that for about 4 years, on the Goodyears, I had no vibration issues, I get in one day and all of a sudden I have a new vibration. It was not bad to begin with but got worse. The Goodyear tires still had good tread but had started to crack between the treads all around the tire......they aged out before wearing out. Those old Goodyears had about 55 thousand miles on em so I felt I got my monies worth. I had a set of Cooper tires installed about 6 months ago but the vibration persisted. Tires were balanced when purchased and my mechanic said he took them down to the local tire shop just to double check the balance job and they all checked out OK.
Mechanic says front disk rotors, brake pads and wheel bearings are all OK. I had him install some new Bilstein shocks but problem still persists after that, no change.
With all that said, that is one reason I thought maybe a bad u-joint as I had a similar issue many years ago with another vehicle.
My next guess is the harmonic balancer. I think vibration is in the driveline and torque converter problems are usually "noise" problems not vibration.

Take care....John
If you want to see if it's engine related, turn off overdrive, and drive the speed you are experiencing the issue. If it continues at the same speed, it's likely not anything directly connected to the engine, since it would be turning at a different speed.

Good evening. It's clear and 80. A couple of things, first, the Ebay seller responded, pulled the engine out of his "to go" stuff, and changed the address. Yay! He told me he did something similar, so he was able to take care of it without further drama.

Second thing:

The Return of "The Layout":

More like 10s of millions.

Probably with the bureaucracy involved a couple of million wouldn't even start the ball rolling!
yea probably that's like here in Indiana last election season we had a senator who wanted to start using abandon factories to make like micro chips for the military since apparently they come from China. I think they quickly realized how expensive that was to do

Good afternoon from Baton Rouge LA. First leg of the trip was really quick. I generally travel with the pedal to the metal most of the time. I traveled 440 miles from home to lunch in Lafayette LA in 5.5 hours, giving me an average of 80 mph! Ooops! a bit over the limit! That's even with 15 miles through North Dallas which actually was quite smooth, and a couple of bathroom breaks. The short leg from Lafayette to our hotel in Baton Rouge was marred by much congestion in BR. Took over an hour to go 56 miles.
Somewhere along a very deserted section of IH-49 through central Louisiana, a mystery voice from no where, said "there's police reported ahead". I know that there is a phone app for that, but I didn't know that it was built into the Lexus! I had already spotted a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the highway and slowed to ~78 mph. Limit on that highway is 75 mph. I got the warning twice more, once a false alarm.
Tomorrow will be more relaxed, with a stop in Gulfport MS for lunch and to visit Traintastic, a model railroad museum there. Then another 130 miles to Gulf Shores AL where we can't check in until 4:00. Got a dinner reservation here for 6:30, so I need to go now.

Good evening folks, 66 and raining here, strong storms expected the rest of the night. Worked the last two days at the gun store and quite busy as deer seasons start tomorrow. Got a new Unitrack bridge to try on the layout to see if it looks better than the current bridge. Gonna relax with an old movie tonight and make some popcorn to go with it.

Rain finally arrived several hours ago. Two or three hours of mild thunder and lightning and still raining moderately. Should continue until early morning. This will make up for a lot of missing rain around here.

I might even be able to burn all the tree limbs I've been collecting for the last two years.

That's hilarious!

McDonalds in the US should adopt that marketing strategy 😀
Taco Bell has some places that sell alcohol in the US (or did a few years ago). I don't drink so I don't know the details but they were called or are called Taco Bell Cantinas IIRC.

There are other places in the world where places like McD can sell beer. I don't remember where but I've read about it.

(going and looking it up)

According to Google and Newsweek

see I understand the whole pollution thing but I can think of many reasons to bring it online again but I also understand if its been quiet that long it would take a couple million to get it back in working order.
It would be great, but the blast furnaces have been replaced mostly with electric furnaces in those steel mills which are still in operation. For some reason the Steelton mill near Harrisburg has been shut down recently. The powers who run this country seem to be bent on making it into a third world country, with it's citizens only providing basic services. But i guess we should not be going into politics here. Steel mill in Bethlehem has made a lot of quality steel, with much of it being used in very well known projects, like the Empire State Building in New York City. While i was already there, i took the time to walk around to the railroad side of the main complex. And what a site it was. On the railroad sidings there are still rows of specialized rail cars which were used to move hot molten steel around different parts of the plant;
