I buy Chinese tires from Walmart. While they have outlasted BF Goodrich and Bridgestone (50,000+ miles vs 40,000) I do notice they don't provide the same comfortable ride in the last 10%-15% of their life. I have no explanation for this, but it has happened with two sets of tires.

The base rubber may not be exactly the same as what the tread is made from. I'm thinking the Chinese tires are a capped and wrapped construction, but not at all certain about that.

Yes, European rules are far more strict and to be honest probably half the trucks seen in the US would be banned in Europe. America has always been wild and i have a feeling it will remain so.
Some of the better Euro trucks are not allowed here for “safety reasons” or emissions rules. I think it may have more to do with protecting the domestic truck brands, but who am I?

That's exactly right. The so called safety rules are a total BS. Scania is trying to make it here, or at least there's a few firms in New Jersey area where they can possibly get them shipped here for those drivers who are more devious.

For the ones who are baseball enthusiasts watching the post season doesn't shohi otani of the dodgers already have a championship under his belt
Yes, he does! Shohei Ohtani won his first World Series championship in 2024 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He also won a Japan Series championship in 2016 with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters before coming to MLB.

That is what I refer to as an “instant and public IQ revelation”
Well...i'm not sure if in this case you're relating in negative or positive aspects 😃. Of course i prefer to think in more orderly fashion just like i was raised. But there's reasons for certain behaviors. While in Europe you will not see something like that on the road, in country like India, dressing up of trucks takes even more "colorful" shape.
And this is a less dressed up vehicle.

I'd be wary that vehicle was overloaded; as seems to be a fashion over there.

It’s good to see the dash between Nippon and Ham. Every time I hear it I think that they’re fighting ham, but in reality the sponsor is the company “Nippon Ham” and the team is the “Fighters”.

And having been in Hokkaido this late spring I can attest that you see ham and pig related stuff everywhere for the team. Especially in the Sapporo airport. Tons of mascot stuff everywhere.

I saw this on an SUV today at the daughter’s doctor appt. I thought of Tom @TLOC
