We won’t be riding a lot of trains but there is a freight yard near where I have to go to go to the model train shop in Kobe iirc. You usually get some interesting stuff going by or parked at a station. We’ll see.
Great shots of that layout. I assume that there are 'pop-up' places for maintenance, but sure are hidden great!

These are the supplements I take on a daily basis. Collagen, ZINC, D3 + K2, Magnesium and Multivitamins which has copper and other minerals your body needs. If you don't want to have a keen replacement or stop face wrinkles maybe you should start taking some Collagen daily. Most of my golf friends rely on beer to supply all their bodily needs. They think it cures all their ailments. Even their golf swing. I have different ideas on this subject. I listen to Dr. Sten Enberg a Youtube Doctor that understands on how every cell function works and explains it in detail. Why your body needs D3 + K2, Insulin Resistance, fasting and on and on. You can follow him on Youtube.
And the reason I'm up so early today is Joe G is coming down today to finish up his work here and I need to get things ready before he gets here and all the tools I trip over in every room but my bedroom will finally be gone. Thank God. Swal

I take zinc, vitamin d, vitamin k every other day, vitamin c, and a ton of other supplements. CoQ10 and fish oil and nattokinase particularly for the old ticker.
It’s 8:45 PM and got up to the mid 40s today in Sapporo and relatively sunny. I was kind of hot.
We got the boy and waited around the office area for their president to come back. We talked with him a little and then left to walk back to the subway with his suitcases and went to stops to where the hotel is.
We then went to lunch and he wanted to go to this fast casual Japanese Italian place. They seated you. You then used your phone to scan a QR code on the table. It brought up an ordering page specifically for your table. They had printed menus and you just typed in the item numbers you wanted from the menu into the order page and press submit. 5-10 minutes later the food miraculously appears. They give you a slip of paper with a barcode when they deliver the food. You can use that at payment time or you can hit the pay button on the order page on your phone. You can also order new items to be added to the bill at any time. I added a desert after I was done with my main meal and my son added some pasta.
When you’re done eating your push the pay button on the order page or take the slip of paper that comes with the food that lists the items and total price that has a (different) barcode and there is a self payment machine on the way out. You scan your barcode for payment, choose cash, credit, or stored value card (IC card) and pay and then leave.
They have lots of staff if you need anything and there is a sign that says if you’d rather or need to order in traditional style (manual with waiter/waitress), like if you don’t have a phone, to let them know and they can do it.
It was interesting.
Afterwards we came back to the hotel and then took the train to the main Sapporo station. Went to a music store to look at instruments and then took Yodobashi camera, large department / electronics store. My son wanted to get a few things. This Yodobashi Camera is small compared to the one in Osaka, which we’ll go to when we’re near there later this week or Monday. But I still looked at the model trains. A minimal selection comparatively but still not bad.
This is the train we took to Sapporo and back to the station by our hotel called Shin-Sapporo. It’s basically also the same one we took last night from the airport.

Good morning all!
A very foggy wet morning. Currently 46F heading up to a high of only 46. Received some rain last night into this morning.
Usual household chores today and continue on with Thanksgiving prep of the house.
1st basketball game of the season for my daughter. It is away so dinner will be on the road home.
Not much else going on.

I believe I have completed my beloved honey due list at least 3 times in 11 years of retirement. I know one time I proudly crossed off the list and returned it to the clip on the refrigerator. The clip already had another list…

Good morning from foggy So. Central Wisconsin where even though the neighbor maybe 90’ away had her security lights on, I cannot see the house. I will not be driving this morning.
It’s 45f degrees now 52 this afternoon and plummeting to 20 overnight if the guessers are correct. A possible 1” of white may also greet us in the morning.
Ai created Thanksgiving setting. I’ve been playing with Google Gemini as ChatGPT was unable to reproduce the same renderings. Still using the free versions but with another paper mill design on the horizon I might pay for a month.$19.99 for the Pro version cancel anytime. Or Ultra at $129.99 per 3 months minimum. I’ll pass on that one!
Spent most of the day doing things in my cave. I was unaware I needed new lamps and end tables but definitely unaware my overstuffed leather couch, love seat and chair were beyond usable. I had no choice regarding the end tables and lamps though one needs to be returned. Those came home somehow stuffed into coconspirator’s SUV. The furniture will be here sometime next week. I had to go look at what the girls picked out but did want my approval. Just on principle I said no to the color they picked out but I think I was manipulated by the girls and salesperson into actually getting what they wanted. The daughter and her mom are wise in those manipulation moves or so I let them think that…
It will be nice but I doubt the normal crew will care. They don’t dare touch the theater though. St Vincent DePaul will be getting some nice stuff on Friday even though it’s older, it’s in superb condition
I will be at the bench today. The paper mill needs to be built now that the drawings and mockups are approved.

Went to watch the youngest granddaughter sing at her winter concert. Her older sister went to sit with friends, because her mom made her...
They didn't have enough seats set up, and many of the older middle school kids went to sit on the stage as the program was on the gym floor.
Out early again today.

Nothing on the schedule for today. I did my Christmas shopping last night. That took all of an hour because I'm only shopping for my nephew. I also ordered a bottle of Senf and two packages of Lebkuchen. If you don't know what that is, they are soft gingerbread cookies that can be dark chokolate coated, glazed, or powdered. I have an assorted pack and a straight dark chokolate pack on the way. I'm really looking forward to those.

I don’t think there are any original EF66 in operation. They were redone some time ago and I think even those are now being scrapped.Will you have time to shoot some freight action? I'm kinda hoping to see some pictures of the EF66 (in original look of course), but i know that's a tall order

Good morning gang!
44° under cloudy skies, heading to 54°. Maybe rain tonight, clouds look like snow, just too warm.
Sunday's train show was a blast, sold lots of stuff, made about $350 after paying for the tables, snacks and taking wifey out to dinner afterward. Treated myself to a 10 oz sirloin dinner, yum yum! Yesterday I was barely able to get out of bed after standing all day on concrete floors, my legs were screaming. It felt like early onset rigor mortise ! Better today, just a lil stiff. Gettin old sucks!

Good Morning All. Foggy and 48°; although not as foggy as last evening when I couldn't see the further car in the driveway less than 30' away, while standing on the back porch. Upper 60's today and then a colder period coming up starting with a cold front tonight. May have to dig out the blue jeans tomorrow for the second time his season. Only supposed to be in the low-40's tomorrow morning. Low-60's for Thanksgiving Day. Might freeze again on Sunday.
As I posted yesterday, the doctor visit was uneventful, traffic was not affected by the just ended rain. No one working in any of the four highway construction zones that I had to pass through. Made a few stops on the way home including the grocery store to buy fruit and beer. We're bringing fruit salad and "regular" beer to the big family Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. Another relative is bring the "lite" beer. Not sure how much beer is needed for 23 Irish folks celebrating Thanksgiving, so I bought something that I will drink at home as well. Maybe some of the 14 kiddos might get a sip since at least 5 are in high school. Despite the rain Sunday night, I was later able to walk around part of the yard with my pruning tools and trim some sucker branches off many trees. And there still is no water in my pond since it all soaked in and there was no runoff.
Today will start with a possible honey-do list. No physical list here but there are always a couple of requests. Maybe I can slip outside unnoticed! That firewood that I gathered up on Sunday might be dry enough to stack today.
It was another lazy day out in the train shed yesterday. I did run a lot of trains though. I do feel lucky that I do get to spend at least an hour or more out there every day.
I am reminded that I still have about 150 more pictures from the various train museums that I visited during my vacation last month. One layout at Traintastic in particular was more impressive than some of the others. A visitor from Minnesota to their old location was quite impressed, so he donated his home layout to them some years ago. It took 4 semi-trailers to get it to Gulfport MS. It was in storage for a few years until they got their new location prepared for it.
There are supposedly over 10,000 trees on this layout!
The next two pictures show the same Downtown Deco structures that I posted from my layout last week.

Todd - Me and my remaining 3 local siblings rotate Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners. We generally have between 40 and 48 people show up. All are offspring or the partners of my parents descendants. I am technically the Patriarch of the family now. And those are just the locals, there's over a dozen who no longer live in the area. I did Easter at daughter #1's home earlier this year with 42 folks. My next turn is Thanksgiving 2026. Last time we did Thanksgiving in 2022, there were 48 people that I hosted. They are always raucous affairs.
Troy - It's just my area of Texas with no Prairie Dogs. There's plenty in West Texas.
David (Marlin) - That's good news about the test results.
Tom O - That home baking is a bitch to avoid. I don't normally indulge in desserts, but my wife bakes up a storm during the holidays. I have to help eat some so they don't end up in the compost pile.
Michael - Thanks for your concern regarding the tornadoes. However they were 300 miles away down near Houston. That would be in Hughie's area, although I think that they might have been a bit north of him.

It's Troy again.
Still wondering what Willie did to piss off the Prairie Dogs and make them leave his part of Texas.
I've got a buddy up here that gets paid in baked goods by the Amish farmers to shoot woodchucks. He calls his unofficial business "Gopher Team Six." Perhaps Willie is a retired member and all ground rodents of an unusual size give his homestead a wide berth? Hmmmmm.....
Just made it back from the grocery. Picked up the spiral cut ham at 2.49/lb that I'll double smoke starting Thurs morning. Love me some ham on holidays. Double smoking just makes it even better.
Browned up the outside of a London Broil roast, with steak seasoning sprinkled all over. Then put it in the slow cooker, covered with baby carrots, diced red taters.
The thyme on the roast is some of sweetie's fresh grown and now dried thyme. The rosemary is from the tin.
I worded almost 1300 words this morning. Might have another chapter in me. Or at least finish this one today.
