Good morning all!

Monday, Monday.....Hope everyone had a great weekend!

A cloudy damp feeling morning. Currently 33F heading up to a high of 48F. Some light rain supposed to move into the area later this
afternoon. looks like winter will begin to make an appearance on Wednesday. Cant complain we have had a very nice November up to
now.

Got the toilet installed yesterday without too much issue. Only leak I had was with the supply line. Somehow I misplaced the rubber gasket.
Not sure where it went, we looked all over for it. A quick trip to the hardware store remedied that.

Usual Monday household chores today

Not much else going on here.

Have a safe day everyone!

FYI, support for the 10 series GPUs ended a couple of months ago. Security updates will still be available for a couple more years, but if the GPU encounters something it doesn't like, Nvidia won't update the operation of it.
I didn’t know that either, I really appreciate all the help you’ve given me over the years.

My son is giving me another of his "outdated" (to him) PCs (last year's model) Rather than upgrade one of the other PCs he gave me. I’ll see if I can snag a newer video card from one of those to replace the 10-series card in this system. My son always buys the lateset video cards. Even if he has to wait weeks or months to get it.

After consulting with you I bought three of these ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Phoenix Fan Edition DVI-D HDMI DP 1.4 video cards from Amazon for $139.98, January 21, 2021.
The Amazon listing confirms what you say. It is in fact 4GB

I think they have been on the market since 2016, but I was looking for the best value available, not the latest and greatest. I think you nailed it!

The other two systems I have with that video card are not worth upgrading, at least not to me.

I thought I had bought more of those 10 series video cards, but that is all my Amazon order history shows. I might have bought one somewhere else. It may be in a system I haven't used in some time that is in my attic.

I need to get rid of old electronic equipment. I have at least a pallet load.

Morning all,

Drizzly and 51°, supposed to rain off and on today.

Holiday shortened week, and because we have Friday off as well, I get 3 8 hour days instead of having to work 10 hour days (I have to work 24 hours as I have 16 Holiday hours for the week).

Have to go to a grade school concert this evening, as we went to her sister's middle school concert Friday night.

Having our Thanksgiving on Saturday as that's when we can get get everyone together. We want all the grandkids to be with us and not meet when the one has to be at her dad's house. That way she doesn't miss out.

Posted to the wrong thread this morning. So here goes again...

I'm up. Already had to "put my shades on"

Found a "Cozy Christmas" playlist on YouTube Music, so I hit that for the morning writing vibes... And the very first song Whammied me! I was out a month ago, and now this one double whammied me. I don't have to play now. I can just ignore the game and laugh at everyone.

In other news, my sister is trying to build some new family traditions now that mother has passed, and her siblings are concentrating on their own extended families.

The problem is she picked Saturday... The weather guessers say 3.5 inches of snow here in the fort.... She and her boyfriend live in South Haven Michigan. A LOT closer to lake Michigan. They're in the 2.4 inches of snow on Saturday.

What is normally a 2.6 hour drive will probably become a 3.5 to 4 hour drive. I'll pass on that, unfortunately... We're in the "wait and see" mode...

Good Morning All!
43F @ 90% can see stars!

Oh Boy! Just found out we are doing 2 Thanksgivings. One the normal day, next on Saturday. Dau had to work on Friday, so they won't be here until Sat.

Well, ok, so maybe not an 'Oh Boy' cuz the blood sugar and waistline will suffer. I guess I have to handle it though. Wish me luck!

Good grief guys I don’t post for 48 hours here in the diner and have to go back to page 64 to read the missed tidbits of life from the Crew! This is page 71!

It’s morning in So. Central Wisconsin. We found out yesterday that Christmas most likely will just be the 2 of us. So Terry asks what should we do and I said lots of sex sounds good to me. She laughed walking away shaking her head, but no comments! Any who!

We also found out that the grandson has 4 away tournaments 3 in December and then the one the 1st weekend in January is in Houghton, Michigan which is a 6 hour drive in good weather. Houghton is in the Upper Peninsula and weather there can change hourly. Terry asked the daughter at the hockey game on Saturday what family gift did they want, daughter said money to pay the 4 hotel bills coming up. I think she was serious! The team scheduler should be shot, they have 2 games at home in December and 3 away tournaments. These are kids not pros!

The grandson is 12 and his birthday was Saturday. Pizza party at his place Saturday night. Got his 1st kiss from a girl Saturday afternoon as 6 girls from his class showed up for the hockey games and basically got him before he knew what happened. They were there for the party later! Seems per the daughter the goalie good friend and part of the 4 friends the one I call buddette got a bit jealous and mentioned it to the daughter. Young love! Kait told budette not to worry he’s not allowed to date but can go out with groups of friends.

I designed 2 slot tracks in October and they were going to be built before the Christmas vacations from school. Neither will be getting built. The daughter said the track the grandson has now is fine and with being gone so much for hockey, it’s not in the cards. Pretty much the same for the Watkins Glen track I designed for the daughter’s good friend and former business partner. Too much hockey coming up and the family slot track is good enough. Both tracks are part of a now alternating schedule of races the 4 friends have organized. The December race will be #5 since they started and I was there as a track Steward and chaperone as these are scheduled on off school days. I say was because in the December invite I am now listed as a track Marshal.

I will be adding to my paper mill build thread for a friend if interested this morning

Be well

Good Morning All. Light rain with thunder and 55°. From the back porch, it looks like about 1.5" in the gauge about 25' away. Looks like the rain might be over in another hour or so. High today in the mid-70's. Mild weather for the next 10 days...maybe rain again on Saturday.

Hoping that the rain will end soon, as I have a visit to my PCP at 10:00 this morning, 45 miles away! Why so far away? He was a lot closer but moved his practice and I'm sticking with him because I like him. There's 4 highway construction zones to go through though. They're bad enough in good weather. No outdoor tasks today since it is rather wet.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, hated to see it end! Gathered up another week's worth of firewood but didn't stack it yet. Did the usual laundry and the never ending dishwasher chore. Made a new recipe for supper, air-fryer Pork Chops, made with a Panko/Parmesan/spice breading. They were great and better yet, no greasy clean-up.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I again tried to do more organizing under the layout. I actually made an index of what I touched yesterday so I could find it in the future. But I'll eventually misplace the list! I also enhanced a scene dividing the towns of Charlottesville and Rycon Township. It is a small woodsy scene with a group of Boy Scouts. I added a few tree stumps and a small amount of additional vegetation.

Some of that vegetation now obscures the view of the Scouts.
Then I added an Eagle nest complete with mama, papa (spreading his wings) and junior; a detail that will probably never be seen by anyone but me, and y'all.

I need to get a better picture of mama and junior in the nest.

Troy -
We're not in Willie's area, so I'm ruling out prairie dogs. And mountain lions.
As a matter of record. No Prairie Dogs in this part of Texas and Mountain Lions (which we have), don't dig burrows!
Marco - Nice looking trees.
Mike - Doesn't it seem that every home improvement project requires at least one if not more trips back to the hardware store?
Todd - Yea! Two Thanksgivings here as well. Thursday with the entire gang at my sister's house, although smaller this year; just 38 folks instead of the usual 45+. Then again on the weekend with just me, wife and the girls families...9 total.

Looks like the rain has moved off to the east and I won't have to deal with it on my journey, but the roads will still be wet and who knows what traffic misfortunes it left behind.
Everybody have a safe Monday.

The Intel Iris XE Graphics in my T16 won't work if I'm not using a pair of ram cards in the slots. It must be dual channel with the same amount of ram for the Iris to work. One of the slots is soldered, so I did not have much of a choice of dual channel memory. It had a 16GB card installed and I added another 16GB.

Good morning folks. 47°F/47°F here so a bit of the foggy side. Rain that Willie mentioned last night should be here this afternoon. Their Magic 8-Ball is on the fritz again; it was supposed to be here this morning.

Great flight you had yesterday Chad. Followed you all the way to touchdown in Tokyo then went to bed. There was no flight coverage from just south of Alaska until paralleling the Japanese mainland. ADS-B started reporting right at your top-of-descent at 150 miles out of Tokyo. I noticed the flight plan was for FL320, and then stepped to FL360 and FL380 as the fuel was burning off, by the time you were along side of Russia.

Did you see your take-off from KSFO?

Have a great, if soggy Monday!

Servus!

Well, my last week at work is getting better. I scheduled an eye exam and glasses replacement when I found out about everything going on, and when. I arrived at the eye place at the appointed time, and found out the company had canceled my vision insurance.
And the company fired their benefits/insurance person last week, so I've been paying in to this program for nearly two years for nothing.

Willie: We pretty much stopped using the big oven for just about everything. Those air fry thingies are the cats meow. Have not tried anything with some sort of coating - we seem to be happy with GP and Salt. No grease/oil? Check that bottom drawer.

We had 24 people at our house many moons ago .... don't know how Mom and the other helpers did it!
