Snarky Old Fart (in training)
Well howdy there internet peeps and those young enough to have memories of Dick Cheney
It's Troy again.
Up at 4:51 local. Had my cup of Chobani Greek yogurt (black cherry since they didn't have blueberry)
Tried Guy Fieri's Flavor town for lunch yesterday.
The brisket Mac N Cheese (with crunchy fried onion strings)
This was part of the "all you can eat" lunch.... if you dared stay for three hours. They were understaffed, and took about 20 iminutes from when we finished the first round for the server to come around again to see if we wanted more.
Unfortunately, two hours later, the revenge of the dish caught up with. I was squirming in my seat while the gas pressure rose. As soon as the presentation was finished and into Q&A, I headed to the men's room for a trumpet solo. One of the folks I had lunch with was also afflicted in a similar fashion. One was not.
Dinner was in the food court. Everything here is overpriced and average qaulity except the cake from the Carlos Baking machine. That was yummy.
Speaking of dessert, the dessert bar at the convention's evening networking event.:
I had the hit the asthma inhaler two nights ago. The Horseshoe's venue had seemed extra smokey to me, and I finally learned why. the Cigar convention was in the space right before us. The hotel didn't just vacuum the hallways, they charged them extra and broke out the carpet shampooers. But it still lingered. I could even smell it in the convention space, and that had been shampooed as well. We were kicking up smoke particles with each pitter-patter of our feet.
The convention is moving things around soon. Next year, we're still at Horseshoe, but the following year, we'll be in the Paris Casino's facility (Both Owned by Caesars and connected to each other with the shopping mall)
