Well howdy there internet peeps and those young enough to have memories of Dick Cheney

It's Troy again.

Up at 4:51 local. Had my cup of Chobani Greek yogurt (black cherry since they didn't have blueberry)

Tried Guy Fieri's Flavor town for lunch yesterday.
The brisket Mac N Cheese (with crunchy fried onion strings)

This was part of the "all you can eat" lunch.... if you dared stay for three hours. They were understaffed, and took about 20 iminutes from when we finished the first round for the server to come around again to see if we wanted more.

Unfortunately, two hours later, the revenge of the dish caught up with. I was squirming in my seat while the gas pressure rose. As soon as the presentation was finished and into Q&A, I headed to the men's room for a trumpet solo. One of the folks I had lunch with was also afflicted in a similar fashion. One was not.

Dinner was in the food court. Everything here is overpriced and average qaulity except the cake from the Carlos Baking machine. That was yummy.

Speaking of dessert, the dessert bar at the convention's evening networking event.:

I had the hit the asthma inhaler two nights ago. The Horseshoe's venue had seemed extra smokey to me, and I finally learned why. the Cigar convention was in the space right before us. The hotel didn't just vacuum the hallways, they charged them extra and broke out the carpet shampooers. But it still lingered. I could even smell it in the convention space, and that had been shampooed as well. We were kicking up smoke particles with each pitter-patter of our feet.

The convention is moving things around soon. Next year, we're still at Horseshoe, but the following year, we'll be in the Paris Casino's facility (Both Owned by Caesars and connected to each other with the shopping mall)

Morning all,

51° and clear going for a high later of 65°.

I'll need a CPAP which I figured I would. Dr called a company and they called me yesterday, but I canceled it once I found they weren't in my network. So I had to call the Dr to call the company the wife uses as they are in network. So I'm waiting to hear from them again. May help with the tiredness I've had the past few months.

Plotting with my local daughter's father and brother in law to scope out the Veteran's day freebies. I had several free meals from local restaurants,(gift card), 3 free pillows, and several other things last year as I was finally able to participate. My original forms were lost in a flood and while I am honorably discharged, I don't qualify for Vet benefits (time in service), so I didn't think I needed them. Daughter put me in contact with and I was able to receive a replacement for my DD214. I filed it with the state and have it on my license.

Food for thought: I qualify for a disabled tag for my car, I am a vet and qualify for a veteran tag, but I don't qualify for a disabled vet tag...🤔 (No disrespect intended for those disabled in the line of duty!)

First time in long time I didn't vote yesterday. Only had 4 races and 2 were uncontested, 2 for school board and 2 for the county's community college trustee. All said they were going to slash taxes. While it may change the mill levy, the county still decides how much my house is worth. Funny how the same people who decide the tax, also decides what my property is worth. Then the state has decided that these other taxing districts need to hold hearings if the budget increases year over year. Clown shows. Just a change in valuation with no mill change will increase the budget.

HR director announced in the breakroom yesterday that nobody could retire until she does, I told her to hurry up. I was the oldest in the room at the time.

David: Feel better man. I'm also finding everyone is younger than me any more as well.

Troy: I stay out of the local casinos (State owned) for the same reason. Only buildings in the State that allows smoking indoors, and there is always a haze.

Vegas is getting wise, at least those on the strip, and they've got better air handling.

But the cigar smoker convention Overloaded the Systems at Horseshoe. There were still a few hangers on smoking away int eh front bar while I was waiting there to check in on Sunday. But, there are occasionaly a few cigar smokers in the bar, so I didn't worry about it too much.

Asthma has been much better since the first two days.

Good Morning All. Clear and 55°, should be in the 80's later today.

Nothing unusual about yesterday, another boring day in the life of Santafewillie. Laundry, then brush removal in the woodlot, etc. Took longer to drive to and from the polling location than it did to vote. Daughter #2 came by last evening to pick up granddog. After her trip to Austin to see grandson #1, she flew directly to NW Arkansas and met up with grandson #2, who rode up with another friend and mother, to visit a college there. He's looking at business schools. I must be getting older since I now have one grandson already in college and the second looking at schools.
My wife goes in for day surgery today, to remove a cancerous spot on her forehead. She's going solo as she just didn't want me tagging along. Local anesthesia only. It's interesting because she has chided me for over 50 years to use sunscreen, which I should but don't, but she uses it daily and she is the one with the cancerous spot! Another PT session this afternoon for me. It does interrupt the day somewhat.

The Texas election yesterday went as expected, all 17 Constitutional amendments passed overwhelmingly. Meanwhile, I didn't lose as much value in my investment portfolio as expected, phew!

Out in the train shed yesterday, I made more progress on the Hydrocal structure. Started painting the rockwork after touching up some bricks and concrete that I had already done. The rockwork is tedious but quite satisfying.

David - Get well soon. I know what it is like for all of the nurses being younger than me.
Todd - You have snow and I have 80°+ temperatures! I still haven't taken the jeans out of the drawer yet.
Troy - With portions like that, no wonder they have to offer "All you can eat"!

Rock singer Bryan Adams is 66 today. The late noted Rock & Roll pioneer Ike Turner was born on this day in 1931. Too bad his personal life was such a wreck.
Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday.

Good Morning All!
39F and overcast - no white. Yesterday sprinkling went away before noon.

Did a lot of posting this am and I think my fingers do not have prints on them cuz of that.

Today is medical in Sandpoint, ID. So we are off for that in and hour or so. Will take camera and if time, BNSF will be in focus if they are gracious enough to provide subjects!

This is not the card that came with the Speaker but it's the same size. The speaker card is hard to remove so I didn't want to take it out. They say it comes with a TF Card so I don't know the different. Swal
There is no difference now. When they came out TF was a newer generation micro SD format card but eventually the older generations went away and now they’re just called micro SD card. That’s the non technical layman’s explanation.

Boy, just seen the air crash in Louisville. Pegasus has a trailer drop yard just on the other side of the blast/smoke column. Used to sit there and watch planes. They were really low and fun to watch; both FedeX and UPS flights; probably others. Don't remember any commercial to that runway. Time to open the .gov as planes are falling out of the sky!

Yea they say unit comes with TF Card. Anyway I loaded 50 songs on it that should get me through 9 holes today. I'll put another 50 on at a later date. I was just wondering since it's a drive can I change the order of how the songs are played? Swal

It’s probably primitive enough that it’s playing in alphanumerical order. If it plays files that way, and if you want to get really involved, you can add an “a”, “b”, etc at the beginning of the song name in the order you want them to play. Since you didn’t mention it has any kind of playlist selection, that may be the only way to do it.

Good morning folks, 68 here and sunny. Great night at Church last night, slept in late this morning.
@Patrick, I have been using a CPAP for a couple of decades. If your first mask isn't comfortable, tell them to try a different one.
you others recovering from ailments, prayers are with you. Might go and finish off the reloading bench this afternoon, but LadyC may draft me as she is making our dinner for church tonight.

It's "train season" now. The Pineapple Express and Atmospheric Rivers are going to be here for months. La Nina at it's finest.

I've begun a multi kit, kitbashed, & scratchbuilt diorama. I just started into a Bar Mills kit for the coal yard. It's definitely a craftsman kit that reminds of the old Campbells kits. Templates, sparse instructions, and figure it out. So far it's more fun than challenging.

This statement is buried a few pages into the instructions, but should be on their website, so less experienced modelers know what they are getting into.

Conversely, If you don't try you will never acquire the skills of a craftsman. Forward!!!
