Made it to Dallas.

Had overpriced airport BBQ from Dickies... Meh.

Wife's crispy chicken sandwich was extra crispy, and the Mac-n-cheese had sat under the warmer too long. My brisket was ok. Fries were fresh.

We board in just under an hour, then off to Vegas!

There are two (that I know of) authors named Troy attending out of about 1200 at the conference. So the other Troy and I and are doing a selfie challenge. The other authors have to seek us out and get a selfie with us. No prizes but the challenge is to find us both, and get selfies with each.

We did that a few years ago, but were eclipsed by the father of the organizer. He wasn't an author, but came down for moral support of his son. A lot of Craig's family helped at the conference, and it became a fun contest to take selfies with Craig's Dad. Unfortunately, he passed away last year. So Troy-1 and I (Troy-2) are stepping into the breach. Get Troy-squared selfies and post them.

FYI: If anyone is into Military Sci-Fi books, check out Craig Martelle's work. He's passed the torch to a new team to run the conference, but he's reportedly pretty good on the Sci-Fi for an old worn-out Marine of an author.

What are the dimensions?

Its hard to tell from the picture but they look pretty good sized.

Maybe a seat to take a quick rest-stop?
Migalyto they were about 3 ft long and 15 inches high. When I seen the 1st one, I thought I wonder what that was used for. Then I seen another and another? What could they be and they all looked exactly the same? I did not work on that line but knew plenty of people who did, but I don't think there around anymore. They were all older than I 'am. Swal

It finally started sprinkling after the radar showed rain here since 0430. So an opportunity to show some more pictures from TrainTastic, the model railroad museum that we visited in Gulfport MS on our recent vacation.
Moving into the layout rooms, the first layout to greet us was an On30 holiday themed layout.

Unfortunately the train in it was running at warp-speed.

Since the horses in the previous pictures are Clydesdales, there's a Budweiser brewery.

The overpass behind it caught my eye.

Across the aisle is an HO scale European layout. The trains were not operating on it the day we visited, and most of my pictures did not come out very well due to the light and distortion from the storefront window behind it.

During my foray through the place, I focused more on scenery than trains, as that's most of my interest right now.
Is that the yeti up on top? :)

Opera's ad blockers also do a good job. I use Duck Duck Go viewer for youtube. It blocks everything including the comments area, but some content cannot be viewed on it as well.
Thats why I like Adblock Plus. It blocks almost everything add related, YT as well.

Sometimes YT will pull up the box that states add blockers violate YTs terms, but if you hit refresh it always starts playing
on the second attempt without the pop-up. Probably the software developers on both sides playing cat and mouse.

Ok, they looked bigger than a cinder block. That's why I wondered if maybe they were for sitting along the trail.

Maybe cheaper than building a bench?

Good evening folks, worked today, busy most of the day. Rain earlier, dry now and supposed to be clear the next couple of days. We start our fall revival at church tomorrow, having a fellowship dinner between services, so LadyC is cooking up a storm here. I'm watching Arkansas trying to give a game to Mississippi State. Ordered some needed parts yesterday and had a nice surprise that I had almost $30 credit there.
