It looks "good enough" now. Put it on the shelf and start on another kit.

Looking good. Remember grass is fifty shades of green.

Waste ground will have weeds growing as well.

just my 2 cents.

Good morning. It is currently 70 degrees, 87% humidity and overcast. We have started our humid season, unfortunately. Just finished a few days of rain and weather guessing is showing cloudy/rain for the next few days on one site, sunny tomorrow on two others. Sometimes the standalone site wins.

Broke out the dehumidifier which is a compressor type and sits on a table next to the sink upstairs for continuous drain. I may end up getting rid of it as the room AC units (split) probably burn the same amount of energy and don't heat up the house like this one does as that heat is pumped outside.

We ended up our snap pea season two weeks ago as the mildew started winning the battle. Had some hellatious (sp?) rains and wind so they were always wet. Onions are still in front of the tv watching Ohtani.

Our humid season started here about 2-3 weeks ago. Of course, that means our humidity went from 70% to 95+%. One model railroad club I was a member of installed a large "dehumidifier" in the building, because we couldn't have an air conditioner. We "could" have a dehumidifier. A side benefit of running such a large "dehumidifier" was it kept the building cool.

Made it to G-burg.

The last 3 hours of driving looked fairly straight on the zoomed out view on google maps. It was twisty, curvy, some hairpin turns, increase elevation, decrease, nope, increase again whoops back downhill hairpin! and the locals were on my bump.

I think we'll head down to 68? that cuts mostly across Maryland, then up to Wheeling, and back home a slightly longer way. That route is almost all interstate highways, so the twisties aren't as grueling.

We're in a B&B in GBurg, with a room in the old Carriage House of the manor. I thought it opened into the courtyard. Nope. Street-side, right onto the sidewalk. But, it's a nice room.

Went to the Upper Crust for pizza. They put something called EGOO on the pizza. I was afraid to ask. Looked it up on the interwebz and slapped my forehead... of course it is.

I didn't read the menu closely enough, being so distracted by EVOO, that I didn't ask for no Ricotta cheese. That's one of my least favorite cheeses.

tomorrow, battlefield tour. After the second B in the B&B

Good Evening All. Lovely weather here. Even though it wasn't in the forecast until tomorrow, and still isn't in today's forecast; we're under a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch. I'm currently hearing hail, but the rain hasn't been as bad as the thunder, yet. While the most severe weather appears to be skirting by on our southeast, headed NE, one can never tell with these spring weather conditions. Wife says that there is a tornado on the ground between here and Dallas, but that's internet gossip that I can't confirm with the radar. Hard to see the rain gauge in the storm induced darkness, but a rough glance shows less than 1" so far.

Stopped for the night at north platte Nebraska and it was windy all the way from South Dakota and wouldn’t you know it, thunderstorm watch and possible tornado tonight. Yeah just what you want to hear when you’re sleeping in your camper.

Course I guess back home Kansas is in the same situation tonight.

God Bless everyone and hope nobody has any severe weather tonight.
It is 920pm and north platte is getting hammered right now. Had hail a while ago and if anyone has been in a camper in a hail storm you know the sound inside you can’t even talk to each other it’s so loud and the dog is really really nervous right now.

Come morning we’ll see if any damage is to the camper or worse yet my wife’s new truck that we took on this trip.

We’ll see. I know back home people got hammered too. Prayers to everyone.

Good night riding out the storm. 🙏

Have we always been dying of prostate cancer and women of breast cancer? Is it just more reporting or have the numbers really gone up that much? I'm always wondering if we picked up a bad habit in the last 30-50 years, like cooking with teflon, nuking stuff in plastic bags, getting a lot of EMF radiation from sitting in front of monitors all day or from the ballast in fluorescents, etc. I'm folding up my tin foil hat right now as I type this haha.

Nah, but really?

I do have one of those ghost buster meters btw.

The severe weather is now over for us, everything has moved east. I checked the rain gauge and had only 0.75" after 2.5 hours of thunderstorms. The Weather Underground station around the corner is off-line right now, although he was up and running an hour ago during the height of the storm. His power may be out; he is on a different part of the grid than I am. The weather guy on TV was telling everyone in Parker County (west of Ft Worth) to seek cover from tornadoes there, which mysteriously just disappeared from his radar screen while he was talking. He had a real surprised look on his face! My wife was laughing hard and reran that part for me when I went in to see what was up! These guys/gals get really excited when severe weather gets close. I won't know about hail damage until morning, probably took out a few bean and pea plants in the garden. It never hailed hard enough to cause any roof damage from what I could hear from inside.
Good Night All.

Still up listening to the rain. It’s calmed down some and hope it’s done for tonight. I don’t think we’re in any danger for now but earlier it seemed like all heck was coming down on us in the camper.

Going to try to get some sleep now so I can drive the 6 or so hours home tomorrow. Hopefully no more storms while we’re driving tomorrow.

Good night and Santafewillie hope your garden survived the storm. Update us in the morning.

The talk of Gettysburg.

It reminds me when Dawn and I visited Dunkirk.
It was a busy road. The noise of traffic both ways. The chances of crossing the road was zero. That was not our way though. The gate opened and we entered a peaceful surrounding. The sound of traffic disappeared. Row after row of white crosses ahead.

A friend of mine went there. He told me if I go, take 2 handkerchiefs.
Yeah. The loss of life for Bobby Lee's ego was outrageous...

After watching the movie for a second time, it's not totally fair to Lee, but it's a lot closer than the Lee apologists want us to believe. The more I study the ACW, the less I believe he was a good offensive general. Great on defensive battles, but losing Stonewall as an inspirationational leader knocked him for a loop.

Add in JEB Stuart off galavanting around DC because Lee couldn't write a direct order to save the Confederacy (too many "if practicable" type of phrasing gave his junior officers broad interpretive powers).

Today will be getting the lay of the land. Tomorrow, I want to spend more time tracing the Iron Brigade on Day 1 and 2. The 19th Indiana was a part of that Brigade, and they were decimated on day 1, coming in with the ill-fated Gen Reynolds.
