Good Morning All. Clear and 73°, mid-90's for a high today. Thunderstorm yesterday evening was mostly bark and no bite. Lasted maybe 30 minutes with just 0.1" in the gauge. Lots of thunder though. Second wave was barely a mist.

I did go ahead and grill burgers last night since the rain was over in time. Yesterday was otherwise just a run-of-the-mill day, starting with the dishwasher. Nothing planned for today except maybe laundry; have to see if there is enough for a washer-load. Way too wet outdoors for any meaningful activity.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I discovered an overlooked oversight when I returned to the current project area.

Hmmmh! The public sidewalk runs directly into the building stairs! Spent my time out there shaving 1/2" of ground cover off behind the brewery so I could move it back. I have the completed new sidewalk over on the workbench ready for paint and installation next.

Troy - Good luck with the book launch Saturday.
Tom O - While I never tinker with IPO's, SpaceX is quite typical. Just look back at Facebook. On the flip side, check out WeWork! I believe that the recent tech drop is due mainly to institutional investors taking profits and freeing up capital to invest in SPCX.
Chet - Good to see you here again.
David - I stopped with the statins for about two years and the total cholesterol went from 180 to 220. I stayed on the Ezetimibe at the time. I have since started taking the statin 3 times a week without any of the previous side effects. Total cholesterol is now 188 again.

A fellow in the news lately, Lionel Messi, is 39 today.

Everybody have a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning folks, hope you are all doing well and safe from storms.
74F here is Branson, MO this morning and cloudy, only supposed to hit 85 today with a 24% chance of rain. Gonna take my Missus out for her day of attack shopping and I will relax in the van so she can take her time. I have a "new" book, Mixed Train Daily by Beebe and Clegg, shortline railroads, with great pictures. Y'all be good.

good-morning-dogs-smiley-emoticon.gif Have to leave soon but wanted to say good morning and get a bit of help. What model railroad supplier would you recommend for good prices and good service. It has been so long since I needed to buy any model railroad items that one that I used to buy from has gone bye bye. Haven't found my micrometer to get the size of the flex track that Todd donated. May have enough track as I don't want to overwhelm the small space I have with track. Maybe a turnout or two. Will be looking into some structures and scenery items. The LED string lights I ordered from Amazon shows that it has arrived.

The forum sure seems to be slow this morning. Had problems with it yesterday also. Maybe if I would show up more often, I may know what's happening. Thanks for the likes posted. I do miss the hobby and even the small area I have will help.

Troy - Don't knock Fiats. I had one when my ship was home ported out of Gaeta, Italy. Enjoyed the "experience". Had it a couple of weeks before I realized it was a 4 speed on the column. It was a Fiat 1100. I wi9ll admit it was easy to give up and sell when my BMW Bavaria was ready at the factory. Wouldn't think of buying a BMW today. They don't build them like they did years ago. I call them junk.

I've used Trainworld, Model Train Stuff, and Trainz with no issues. TW usually has the better pricing unless the others are running sales. Service has been equally good. Even Walthers will have a sale that makes it a worthwhile purchase.

81°F/64°F at 1130 today. Much cooler earlier. Chance of rain later this evening, but I'm not holding my breath on any rain today.

Another load of laundry is in, but only a few shirts and a towel. I'm trying to stretch a couple of cotton polo shirts I have back to their original size when they come out of the washer. I read up on a few methods, but I don't have any baby shampoo or liquid fabric softener. I'll just have to work with stretching while drying on a flat towel.

Nothing else going on here today except the temperature and dewpoint rising.

Have a safe Mittwoch! Servus!

My issues with the forum have been complicated lately by internet connectivity, for about a week now. I finally called my ISP this morning and the tech on the other end checked the line from his desk. Said that it was probably the backup battery box for the Optical Network Terminal. I knew that I had this device but I didn't know it's name or function. He put in a ticket for a serviceman to come out this afternoon. Well, the serviceman came out within an hour of my call. He walked around to the back of the house where the device was installed and asked if I used a generator???
I responded no, so he opened the box and literally ripped the battery out and closed everything up. Said that it wasn't necessary because if the power was out, I wouldn't be using the computer anyway. He pointed out that when the battery is failing, it cuts the incoming signal off and on which caused my issues. I've only had an hour since but it seems to work fine without the battery!
Still didn't resolve my problems with the forum, but I am no longer getting the error messages, just slow reaction to any action such as likes, posting, or logging off and on.

I use Lombard hobbies almost excusably. If you sign up for their email blasts they offer specials all the time. That is the time to
get free shipping and closeout deals.

I also have used Hiawatha Hobbies with great experiences.

I have also used these two from time to time and had no issues.

The forum is wonky in the mornings now, but clears about Noon eastern time US.

It was slooooooooow this morning. I'm resisting the urge to post pics until later in the day.

FIATs - I owned one a 4 door coupe. Came with a broom handle to prop the hood up so I could sandpaper down the points every week. Replace them about every month. Leaked about everywhere except the gas tank. Someone tried to steal it, and jacked up the ignition wiring. The previous owner put a toggle and push button in for the ignition. The key just unlocked the steering column. I was glad when it got towed.

Work is progressing on the extension for the layout this morning. Ran out of juice on the cordless drill. I don't feel like walking out to the garage to get the corded drill.
