Good afternoon.
I was out of town visiting my son and his family in Helana, MT plus attended my best friend's 70th birthday party. Also visited my daughter and grandkids while in Bozeman, but it sure felt good to get out of there. The grandkids are so happy to have a yard to go out into. While I was in Helena, I met with Mike with the Helena model railroad club and donated the scratch built turntable that Pete Ellis donated to me.
Yesterday afternoon I got a suprise visit from
Todd. I had just got back into town Sunday evening. He brought over a piece of OSB cut to the dimensions I needed to fit above the TV in the entertainment center. Now I can do some work on trains.
I won't be able to run any trains, but I can try to make a scene to display HO scale trains. I will have to find my micrometer to figure out what code the flex track is that he had given me. I will have to order quite a few items that I had given away. I thought that I had given Todd all of the buildings I had, but found a couple rummaging boxes looking for vehicles and other items that
Willie had bought. I plan on putting some LED string lights behind the support for the shelf above.
Todd had caught me doing some house cleaning. Monday is my normal laundry day and I had some that I had put off. Washed the sheets, blankets, Bedspread, Clothes and then pulled off all of the waterproof slip covers on the couch and loveseat in the living room. I had been putting that off for weeks. The dogs sure were a lot of help.
Willie - those sure are some long freight cars. I never went through a lot of work on the under side of my freight cars. I kept the wheels on the rails.
Karl - Bowling is one thing I miss up here in Libby. I bowled league with the same couple for 26 years. No lanes here in town. They're now indoor storage. There is a house over in Troy, about 16 miles west, but I am not going to drive that highway in the dark in the winter.
John from Indiana- You can sent some of that rain up here. A lot of out snowmelt came early when we had major flooding in this part of the state. A lot of bridges were washed out.
Mike - I don't even want to think of what I spent on tools over the years restoring classic cars. My son has the bulk of them now as I have no place to store them of a place to work on cars. He also got my larger power tools, compound miter saw, table saw. plainer and such, but he has a 3 bay garage/workshop and can use them.
Kusojiji - Like the RDC. I still have an old RDC-2 from Athearn I believe and I had a Rapido RDC that was a gem. Didn't run it at home because my layout was DC, but did run it at my model railroad club. It came in handy when someone had a major derailment that took a lot of time to gather up, I had to sell it but it went to someone who could use it, a fellow up in British Columbia. It was painted for the Canadian National. That was such a sweet running unit. Good luck on working the bugs out of it.
I am going to get out of here. I forget to take anything out of the freezer this morning and will have to run to the grocery store. I am usually there on Wednesday mornings around 6:15 AM to get what I need for a week and the new ad items are out, in and out and usually back home with everything put away around 7.
Will post a few photos from the archives before I go.
