Good morning all!

Another beautiful day weather wise. Currently its a sunny 55F with the high expected to reach a comfortable 78F. No rain
in the forecast. Another day to dry out before rain returns again tomorrow.

Usual household stuff around the house this morning. Today is garbage/ Recycle day so after this post I have to haul them
out to the curb since I forgot last night. They don't come till after 8:30am

Not much else going on at the moment.

Have a safe day everyone!

57°F chilly degrees this morning. Expected high of 80°-82° with little humidity. Pick day of the week is today with increasing temperatures and moisture as the week gets older.

I'll be cutting grass in a few hours. The patch I cut in the back last week still hasn't caught up with the rest of the yard. I'll be cutting the front at a minimum. I hate to cut the ground cover in the shaded areas near the back of the yard as it helps hold the soil in place and keeps the rest of the weeds from growing. Not sure what that ground cover is, but it has sort of round notched leaves and grows close to the ground without stalks or stems. Sort of looks like carpeting.

A small load of laundry needs to be done too so I'm about to get on that now.

Have a great Tuesday! Servus!

Good Morning All!
50F @ 62% clear. Got to 82F yesterday.

Out in the Chick/Goat house yesterday, got the rest of the ceiling OSB put up finally. Upper side wall insulation today and maybe start the OSB on the upper sloped walls. Paint is next - easy peasy - spray it!

Lil is staying outside at night now. She poked her head out of her goat cave, looked at me and went back to bed about an hour ago.

I actually got caught up on the whole forum without any delay's or stumbles.

Good morning gang!

Amazingly, I got right into the forum this morning with no problems.

Made it to Nick‘s trains just outside of Raleigh yesterday. Nice little shop lots of old stock. Must’ve been 75 Athearn blue box kits on the shelf, along with old Quality Craft and Red Ball kits. Lots of vintage stuff. Tight aisle, and a shop cat. Nice little shop.

We talk the grandkids, indoor rock climbing yesterday. I had hoped it would wear them out. It did briefly but then after lunch at Culver’s yesterday they were ready to go again.

I didn’t know till yesterday that these two kids are part spider monkey. The walls were 30 feet high and they had no fear.

Looking for temperatures in the upper 80s with afternoon thunderstorms. Not sure what’s on the agenda yet.

Good Morning All. Clear and 76° out there this morning. Rain has been removed from today's forecast. Total rainfall yesterday was 1.1", maybe a tad less if the gauge is viewed from a different angle. Forecast is still calling for mid-70's overnight to mid-90's in the afternoon. Could reach 100° late next week.

Maybe parts of the yard will dry out enough to mow today, maybe not.

I did not make it out to the train shed yesterday due to the mid-afternoon medical appointment. Heck! I didn't even make it into the pool.

Kevin - Happy Anniversary.
Kusojiji - Stay safe in the typhoons.

Forum is working alright for me this morning.

Everybody have a great Tuesday

My long awaited P1K RDC won't navigate my curves, unfortunately. I read that 18 inch is the spec and mine are 21.5 and 24. The trucks turn fine and the drive shaft starts clicking in the motor side joint. I took a look at it closely and it looks like the drive shaft is pulling out too far during the turn. I checked some reviews online and it looks like my ujoint on the worm gear is too far in, towards the worm as I don't see too much metal shaft. I'm going to try to extend that, either by moving the worm or the ujoint to put the drive shaft into the motor joint a little bit more. Hopefully that fixes it.

Were those prone to gear cracking issues like several other proto models?

I’m back. Out on the back south facing deck. The shop is closed to me this morning though I got in almost 75 minutes of bench time b4 being told I had to clean up and disappear. The daughter is having a doll house expo this morning and they were outside at 8:30 to come in at 9. Supposedly I was informed of this!

Looking at the financial news and you’d think the world was over because SpaceX is trading lower than the IPO offering. That is why you wait months or so to buy a new offering. The 1st weeks are filled with highs and lows. If you buy SpaceX (SPCX) it’s a stock you hold and ignore for years. Or buy soon and sell after Tesla is purchased by SPCX as that is the word that it’s coming within the year!

Facebook was down soon after its IPO and some were calling it a failure.

These things are just hold for 6-12 months

Good afternoon.
I was out of town visiting my son and his family in Helana, MT plus attended my best friend's 70th birthday party. Also visited my daughter and grandkids while in Bozeman, but it sure felt good to get out of there. The grandkids are so happy to have a yard to go out into. While I was in Helena, I met with Mike with the Helena model railroad club and donated the scratch built turntable that Pete Ellis donated to me.

Yesterday afternoon I got a suprise visit from Todd. I had just got back into town Sunday evening. He brought over a piece of OSB cut to the dimensions I needed to fit above the TV in the entertainment center. Now I can do some work on trains.

I won't be able to run any trains, but I can try to make a scene to display HO scale trains. I will have to find my micrometer to figure out what code the flex track is that he had given me. I will have to order quite a few items that I had given away. I thought that I had given Todd all of the buildings I had, but found a couple rummaging boxes looking for vehicles and other items that Willie had bought. I plan on putting some LED string lights behind the support for the shelf above.

Todd had caught me doing some house cleaning. Monday is my normal laundry day and I had some that I had put off. Washed the sheets, blankets, Bedspread, Clothes and then pulled off all of the waterproof slip covers on the couch and loveseat in the living room. I had been putting that off for weeks. The dogs sure were a lot of help.

Willie - those sure are some long freight cars. I never went through a lot of work on the under side of my freight cars. I kept the wheels on the rails.

Karl - Bowling is one thing I miss up here in Libby. I bowled league with the same couple for 26 years. No lanes here in town. They're now indoor storage. There is a house over in Troy, about 16 miles west, but I am not going to drive that highway in the dark in the winter.

John from Indiana- You can sent some of that rain up here. A lot of out snowmelt came early when we had major flooding in this part of the state. A lot of bridges were washed out.

Mike - I don't even want to think of what I spent on tools over the years restoring classic cars. My son has the bulk of them now as I have no place to store them of a place to work on cars. He also got my larger power tools, compound miter saw, table saw. plainer and such, but he has a 3 bay garage/workshop and can use them.

Kusojiji - Like the RDC. I still have an old RDC-2 from Athearn I believe and I had a Rapido RDC that was a gem. Didn't run it at home because my layout was DC, but did run it at my model railroad club. It came in handy when someone had a major derailment that took a lot of time to gather up, I had to sell it but it went to someone who could use it, a fellow up in British Columbia. It was painted for the Canadian National. That was such a sweet running unit. Good luck on working the bugs out of it.

I am going to get out of here. I forget to take anything out of the freezer this morning and will have to run to the grocery store. I am usually there on Wednesday mornings around 6:15 AM to get what I need for a week and the new ad items are out, in and out and usually back home with everything put away around 7.

Will post a few photos from the archives before I go.

Good Afternoon All. Forum is currently working for me, so I figured why not take advantage!
It looks like someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that they took thunderstorms out of today's forecast. Lots of rumbling and radar shows two lines headed this way. The first in about 15 minutes and the second about an hour behind it. I guess that I'll have to make alternate plans for the ground beef that I took out this morning for hamburgers on the grill. Maybe Taco Tuesday in the SFW home tonight.

Later guys.

We are back from the movie Disclosure Day. No matter what you believe about Aliens or not this is a movie to see. Emily Blunt was superb and while Spielberg is the producer, director and just about everything else it’s not like any of his alien related movies at all.

Honestly I am not sure how I feel about the movie other than go see and decide yourself.

While the granddaughter plays at 5:30 tonight the 7:10 hockey game will not happen for the grandson. He was injured at soccer camp yesterday run by the Badger soccer coaching staffs on campus. He was on a breakaway and was brutally taken down from behind is what the Men’s head coach told the daughter and SIL. Seems he landed on his wrist and it hung like a hinge. His best friend then wiped out the kid that hurt the son. Coach told both sets of parents the kid who did it will never attend another Badger soccer camp. Can’t wait to hear the grandson’s version and his best friend description. Not broken and they are not sure about ligaments but he can’t grip a hockey stick. He was taken to campus care yesterday and Urgent Care last night. Orthopedic is Thursday
