We are back from the movie Disclosure Day. No matter what you believe about Aliens or not this is a movie to see. Emily Blunt was superb and while Spielberg is the producer, director and just about everything else it’s not like any of his alien related movies at all.
Honestly I am not sure how I feel about the movie other than go see and decide yourself.
While the granddaughter plays at 5:30 tonight the 7:10 hockey game will not happen for the grandson. He was injured at soccer camp yesterday run by the Badger soccer coaching staffs on campus. He was on a breakaway and was brutally taken down from behind is what the Men’s head coach told the daughter and SIL. Seems he landed on his wrist and it hung like a hinge. His best friend then wiped out the kid that hurt the son. Coach told both sets of parents the kid who did it will never attend another Badger soccer camp. Can’t wait to hear the grandson’s version and his best friend description. Not broken and they are not sure about ligaments but he can’t grip a hockey stick. He was taken to campus care yesterday and Urgent Care last night. Orthopedic is Thursday
Was the other kid, by chance, a rival from the hockey league?

Were those prone to gear cracking issues like several other proto models?
I'm not sure. The axle gear shaft is a bit different than the proto/athearn stuff as it is longer and does not have bearings. This thing uses axle end "bearings".
I hope it is not as I did a search for spare parts and nothing showed up.

I believe that they are, but that shouldn't affect it's ability to navigate curves. I'd check also to see if there isn't something on the underbody interfering with the trucks.
DId take a look at the truck and made sure it is free to move. It's at the extreme end of the swing in both directions that the shaft pretty much comes out of the cup and exposes the tangs/fingers, so I think that they are clicking as they go back into their slot.
Had taken the entire power truck apart earlier and cleaned it all out, so will also check to see if I hosed something up going back in.
Thanks!

Glad it's not broke and hope it heals quickly as he will go stir crazy.
The dogs sure were a lot of help.
Looks like they stayed out of the way!
Good evening folks, good luck at dodging severe weather and stay safe. Mild day here, threatened rain all day but never did. Went to a live action show of Prince Caspian that was really excellent, then had a nice steak dinner.

No idea but this Badger soccer camp has players from all over the country. I’ll ask when I see the grandson

You r so right about that. Last week Friday was the 1st full off day from school and was talking about not enough to do
Kusojiji said : it looks like my ujoint on the worm gear is too far in, towards the worm as I don't see too much metal shaft.
That statement deserves some thought........

Willie,
I know you don't want to deal with statins, but there may be an option.
I wanted off Rosuvastatin because after 7 years I started to have heavy leg issues. I'm physically very active and I now weigh what I did as a freshman in high school after losing 13 pounds (since March 1). My doctor said to stop for 4 weeks and get blood work. Total cholesterol went from 160 to 287. LDL doubled. I'm cursed with familial hypercholesterolemia.

I have to take something or risk arterial blockage.
My doc is starting me on a med that is not a statin and his other patients that have been on it have had zero side effects. Nexletol (bempedoic acid) and he wants me to continue with Ezetimibe which hasn't caused me any issues.
Nexletol reduces cholesterol by decreasing the amount made by your liver and increasing the breakdown of bad cholesterol. It's not cheap, but I hit my annual deductible with the first prescription.
Ezetimibe is a cholesterol lowering medicine that reduces the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from your intestines.
Side effects......everything from ibuprofen to BP meds can have side effects.
I'm on Rosuvastatin, but I've not experienced any side effects. It keeps my bad choleserol way below what is considered normal. I've been on this for 15 years now. I hate to change what works.
Grass was cut in 55 minutes today. Didn't get trimmed til later though, so a little slower than last time. Temp was only 74°F and dewpoint at 54°F but I was still soaked, winded, and slightly dizzy after today's cut. I recovered in about ten minutes. I didn't sleep very well last night even though it was quiet all night. Too much iced tea and coffee I suspect. This may have contributed to my disfunction after cutting today.
Still sleepy right now and no nap tody with an active dog to keep me awake. Now she's sacked out on the floor and I'm still awake.
Guten Nacht alle.

Already? That might be a record!
We knew better as kids to say that too loud. We would of been edging the curbs, scraping and painting the fence, pulling weeds, etc.....
Good morning, Coffee Shop! It's 54°F (12°C) and clear.
Have a great day!

Anybody know what colors Western Pacific used to use in their coaches in the 50's? I want to detail the interior of my RDC, but interweb searches come up with nada for the coaches or the RDC. Looked for pictures and videos as well.

Likes are taking a while.
Everything on the forum is taking a while. But it's working like a gasping Fiat climbing a slight rise to cross a RR spur line at grade.
We'll see if this posts...

Well, howdy there internet peeps
it's Troy again.
Coffee and some cinnamon coffee cake please.
You might remember that I'm in the process of building an HO scale small layout on a folded dogbone. Total foot print is about 7.5ft x 17ft.
i've been fighting one end with only a 19 inch radius curve on the main loop. Yes, Railfanning is number one. So continuous running is the goal.
I've been staring and staring and staring at the offending end, which is up against a wall. I've cut the aisle there to the minimum for tubby engineers. 42in of benchwork was all I had to deal with and I didn't want locos hanging over the edge to make the curve... so 19"Rad was my max
But that leg opens out at the end into my workshop area... Future expansion area
Then a head slap moment. Why not expand NOW? Not the entire expansion. But the 2ft x 4ft section I will need to head into the workshop?
Looks like trip to the lumber store today.
Good morning all!
Happy Hump Day!
Not as nice of day today as the last few. Currently its cloudy and 61F. Scattered thunderstorms will move into the area later this
morning and throughout the day. High temps will top pout at 77F.
Nothing really planned for today Do have a few household things to get done this morning.
Time to hit the coffee!
Have a safe day everyone!
