I believe they were related. Before she moved to the Senate, she represented East Baltimore...sidebar:.. A group of managers from Conrail in Baltimore arranged for a meeting with her, to lobby against Elizabeth Dole's plan to give Conrail to the Southern Rwy, (NS?). She had coffee and Donuts from Mikulski's to serve us in her East Baltimore office. She was very astute.Mikulski's Bakery, would that have been Barbara Mikulskis' family?
My God Mother worked at the Northeast Market. I can't recall the name of the shop. They made Maryland fried chicken and western fries. I loved those western fries!
Who Did?!? Was that a political move?We forgave the British for burning Washington DC in 1814![]()
Someone had to raise the issue....Are we sure someone complained?
Based on Tony's EDICT post, more than likely. See the first sentence. Are we sure someone complained?
Yep. One or two complaints as you say caused this. Too many good and prolific posters of both life and hobby read can easily read that EDICT. It doesn't hide its message.Really, one or two complaint's caused all this, c'mon, you've been round the block same as most of us, I very much doubt it, if maybe 15-30 (have we even got 30) member's had complained, then I can believe it, but that would also mean at least three people you know where the ones that must have complained, assuming there was a complaint to start with, what's that phrase lawyer's like to use, you and others are "assuming fact's not in evidence"
I'm sorry, but I still don't see this as a major issue, people are being asked not to post certain items on the coffee shop thread, some may consider it heavy handed, true, I'm also aware some member's have taken this personally and also, as you repeatedly repeat taking it as an EDICT, sorry, I don't see it that way. Then I remembered the EDICT.
I'm in agreement with you, blown way out of proportion.I have read and reread Tony's post. I just don't understand why it ruffled so many here. I took it with a grain of salt and figured he was just trying to bring this to our attention, hence the red text. Yeah, someone brought it to his attention and so he tried to let it be known that it's his and maybe the bosses preference that we post in the appropriate places. He didn't tell us we had to. The red text really bothered you all and I think it got way out of hand. I guess I'm just among the very few that doesn't see the issue. Anyway, that's my final thoughts on this.
No, it wasn't, it was an attempt to try and get RR themed post's in the appropriate forums, so member's and guests who do not partake of the coffee shop could see the whole picture rather than snippets, or find large lumps missing from threads making it harder to follow. At least that's the way I see it.Is it possible that that was the inten
The coffee shop is a 'one-stop', like Tim Horton's. It's a fast way where one don't need to create a new post in a specific forum area to showcase their work. Plus, lot's of folks here are retired and enjoy the comradery that an open forum showcasing their hobby allows. The coffee shop is the place to make friends.I just don't understand why it ruffled so many here.
It was most certainly implied. Worse, using the word 'spline', singles out a good friend. The village peoples are upset because something they enjoy is being messed with. I don't believe anyone goes to a coffee shop with the hopes of looking at rocks. He didn't tell us we had to.

It ruffled feathers because it was a sudden end to a long term practice. One of the reasons that these particular members preferred this forum to any of the other online site. Other locations are more topic oriented, and more strictly moderated. The coffee shop provided a free form where one could talk about the weather, their day, their creativity, their opinion (within published limits).I have read and reread Tony's post.
