That kind of how I see it as well!

No one was asked to discontinue photos of gardens, vacations, slabs of smoked meat, sports scores...ect.

Just post your layout photos in an appropriate category so members that are not comfortable with coming in here. Took me a while on the forum to venture in here!

OK .. After being AWOL for a while .. I just happened to sneak a look at the forum (coffee shop) mainly to see what was happening. Needless to say I was knocked out of my chair by seeing a report in the moderators thread from long time member "roofintrash". He was expressing his displeasure with TONY - calling him every name you can think of - and asked for his "membership" to be terminated.
Then I started reading all the posts from that point - the more I read - I could just not fathom what was happening.
A few minutes back I noticed that I am the only "staff" on line? I am not sure of exactly what to say or do at this time? I have not seen anything in the moderators thread- so whatever caused this must have been done via PM?
As far as pictures, life events, and everything else (the way it was) I could find no fault in what was going on.
I simply don't understand (if there was a complaint) why that the baby would be thrown out with the bath water. Tell that complainant (if there was one) to not view that thread? The majority should rule - although lately in this Country there seems to be a mindset that a few can control the narrative?

Smudge - I'm not ignoring your request - I am just a little lost on which way to proceed. I have loved being a part of the Coffee Shop - and normally don't see much of the normal postings on the various threads - unless I catch a topic that interests me.

I think I will give Terry a call after breakfast and see what his thoughts are.

I totally agree with this. Probably because I wasn't involved in the coffee shop preferring to watch the different areas setup to give me what I came here for. Though politics aren't allowed here, I get the same vibe here so I don't see the lure. But then, here I am. And I said I wouldn't say anymore. See how people are.

What if I'm uncomfortable doing that?

Just spent some time wandering through another forum, a topic oriented forum, and lo and behold what did I find? Several of those who disagree with my view on this subject, prominently posting...I'm now convinced the edict was by design. Not mentioning names, just making a point.
I don't frequently post there, although I have been a member there for about the same length of time as here. I'm just more comfortable here, and very uncomfortable posting there. Guess maybe I should reconsider my options, before I get cancelled, eh?

I simply don't want Running Bear's Coffee Shop to change.

Thank's, I didn't realise the rather strange position you now seem to find yourself in, so I apologise for my comment.
 
I see the point. I wish GarryCBQ had a thread for his Lionel Christmas trains. I'm glad he shared them in the coffee shop, and I got to see them!!

It's un-American to tell somebody you got to do this, or that.

We are not shouting fire in a crowded theater. It's not porno, it's a model train photo!

What is the big deal where it gets posted? To me it is up to whoever posts the photo where he puts it.
 
I am a newcomer here, and no I did not complain to the mods. I enjoy this free-flowing forum. I would rather see, These are my Choo-Choo's posts rather than baseball scores. But, I have this marvelous device, its called a scroll wheel, when I encounter a posting that I am not interested in, I use it, til the offending post goes away. I am beginning to use it more, to eliminate all of the Edict posts. Let's get back to what we do here MR.

I believe Tony may well have been staying quiet two reasons, first, he's not wanting to inflame the situation any further than it has already gone, if he were to say anything the backlash from members would likely result in more acrimony, and second, He's maybe aware that there are discussions happening in the background that are aimed to resolve the situation and is waiting to see what the result is.
