Interestingly, I just went to the place I order my online groceries, and "everything" frozen is out of stock. Everything from ice cream to tv dinners, and anything in between. I went to the "frozen food" section of the website, and there is nothing in stock. My thinking is the freezer units have all failed simultaneously, or the store is going through a massive remodeling.

Good Wednesday morning, Coffee Shop!
It's 68°F (20°C) and foggy.

Sunny then becoming mostly sunny. Hot with highs in the lower 90s. Light and variable winds becoming west around 5 mph..

Have a great day! ;)

Good morning gang!

72° under sunny skies this morning. Looking for a high today of 96° with a feels like temperature of oh my Lord! It’s going to be bad enough in the shop today, but I really feel sorry for the wife. Her office buildings AC unit has failed as well as having a leaking roof so the recent rain storms that we had have leaked down into the building and knocked down a lot of the ceiling tiles. Yeah when their ceiling tiles get wet they fall. Frankly, I don’t understand why they don’t let her work from home, since she did do her job during Covid from our living room.

No pictures, but the sky was a weird shade of yellow green today in Southern NH due to the fires in Ontario. Heard from a friend up in Maine that it was worse up there.
So Central Wisconsin has been getting Canadian wild fire smoke per the meteorologists on the local TV yesterday for the past 3 days. So far no where near as bad as the Alberta fire smoke we got a couple Summers ago

Good Hump Day to all this wet again Wisconsin morning. The dew is very heavy again today. Yesterday it took till 9 before the cushions even after flipping them over could be sat on out on the deck. Today it maybe heavier. Yes I should have brought them in but it’s just dew and I can wait.

It’s 70f degrees heading to 95. Offically it made it to 95 12 miles north of me but my home thermometer had 96. Its was warm but breezy yesterday morning and after 8pm. The WeatherChannel says its calm out there meaning, no breeze.

Yesterday we went and saw the movie Supergirl partly because we wanted to and we’ve seen the few current excellent rated movies at the 20 screen theater we go to. Plus, the movie has been criticized so much because of its “woke” political nature and being plain terrible. If this was going to become one of those “cult movies” because it was so bad we wanted to be sure to see it. Well it was better than all the Superman movies after Christopher Reeves by far and most of the Batman movies. As for being “woke”, I missed it other than Supergirl is a miserable woman at 23 living a life she didn’t want. I’m thinking those who say it’s woke have not seen the movie. Would I recommend it? Sort of yes though I would suggest you watch it at home on your monitors to save a few bucks but if your tickets like ours are $6.00 each on Tuesdays with free popcorn in excellent seats that recline go to the theater. The Odessey will be here next week and we plan to see it

The grandson skated at 5:30pm and the rink was showing 28f degrees and I couldn’t believe the people in shorts! His team got crushed. At dinner after the grandson told me a few of his teammates are thinking this may the end of their hockey playing this Summer season. A few are afraid of getting hit even though they are good sized kids. But the competition at the 13/14 year old age group is much better than some of these kids have faced. He said the goalie though in the locker room was crying because he’s realizing how bad he is compared to the competition. He gave up 12 goals last night and he said none of the guys could calm the kid down. These kids are playing in a Summer league to basically keep their skating legs and play for fun. These are all the same age group kids but some are AAA, A, B and C players clumped together. It’s not fun though when you’re getting beat 12-8! Goalies play for free but this was a C kid last year and he isn’t ready yet for higher level players. These kids other team only had 21 shots but scored 12 times. The grandson’s team shot 36 times but only scored 8. Sometimes life is not fair! It’s why they keep score

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All!
58F @76% foggy. Only to 87F yesterday.

Off to Spo this am for CostCo, Chef Store, the good butcher shop and probably HD. Royal Buffet on the way home along with Super 1 in BF.

Well was tying up ends in the Chick/Goat house and Maria came and told me it was time to 'de-horn' Lil. Ya, know it has to be done but we both hate it. We decided 1/4 baby aspirin to help with the pain, 3 beers and a shot too ... for me. So I excused myself and went to the local watering hole for those. One of the customers there was sitting in the smoking hut loading a bowl. Asked if I could have a pinch. Looked at me funny saying something like 'You don't smoke' so what gives. Explained that I wanted Lil to get a couple of blasts before we burned the horn tips off. Anyway I got to hold her while Maria burned. We put ice on the burn spots, and she got extra thick milk substitute directly after. Teets have something to do with calming. She now has 2 dark spots around her horns. Poor thing. The blasts did do some good as when she was put back in her pen, she would walk around, stop and look up, or look behind her with nothing there. Ghosts, probably.

We found out about using pot 15 years ago when one of the Does had a breach. Ya have to reach up in there and attempt to get the baby turned correct ( head first ) so mama can dump it. Mama wasn't having any of the ...um... help. Maria said we were out of Children's Tylenol which she usually uses. I suggest pot? Gave that a go and and after a bit the Doe laid back totally relaxed and Maria could move the baby correctly. Both Mama and Kid survived.

Apparently there is/was a fire to the West of us in a very remote location. Wait, everything is a remote location here... When we heard it was at 40 acres and building. Never saw/smelled any smoke so they musta gotten it out quick.

Still half asleep I put Redbull in the coffee maker instead of water. Made it half way to work before I realized I had forgotten my car.

I noticed the same thing. Walmart is reporting Mrs. Callender, Stouffers, and Healthy Choice single-serve dinners all out of stock. I don't know what's up with that, but it seems like that would be a lot of empty freezer cabinets.

I guess I'm cooking this month. Ordered a bunch of pork steaks, chicken, and bratwurst. Also frozen fish, burritos, and other stuff.

Woke... I woke up just before midnight. But don't worry, that is normal for me.

@TLOC Thanks for the review, but better than most Batman movies... this i have got to see!

That is one of the greatest lessons sports can teach a young player.

Exactly. And no 'participation' trophies. I don't ever recall getting one of those in Khoury League baseball. Or AJBC Bowling.

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 70°, a bit cool for a July morning. Forecast is constantly changing but it should remain below 90° for a few more days. Maybe rain tomorrow when we go on the grocery trek.

Today is a day of joyful remembrance. Eleven years ago today, I drove out of the parking lot at work for the very last time. I have never looked back!

Yesterday, it stayed wet from rain/dew until mid-afternoon, so I didn't get anything done outside. Somewhat rare but the gods decided that I needed a break. There are still some remote parts of the yard that need mowing, so maybe I'll do some of them today. Garden is done for now, all I can do is keep the Tomato plants alive until they start to bear again in the fall.

I did spend extra time out in the train shed yesterday. I finished detailing and installing the fence between the business row parking area and the main line. Some minor adjustments still need to be made.

Still need to tie the fence section ends together and vacuum debris.

I also finished up some clean up work around the TOFC yard, more on that later.

Mike -
My daughter is now rethinking her decision to not play travel volleyball this year. There is another tryout later this week so we will see what she
decides. I was really hoping she wasn't going to do it this year. Its a huge time commitment not only for her, but us as well.
A boyfriend might keep her occupied instead. But that brings a different form of anxiety!
Terry - Just another reason that I refused to get or use a cell phone while I was working.
Michael - I didn't originally get the meaning behind that Margaret Thatcher meme that you posted yesterday. Had to think about it for a while.
Chet - Module is really taking shape. Looks real good.
Alan - I am also a firm believer in populating my layout. I believe that my count is well over 1300 right now, mostly Preiser figures hand-painted by me.
Kevin - Nothing going in to the Houlihan's yet. It's complicated because the hotel has a sub-contract to use the kitchen for something. The closing will probably increase the traffic over at the nearby Portillo's.

Lot's of musical birthdays again today. Singer Linda Rondstat is 80, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani is 70 and bassist Andy Pyles of the Kinks and Savoy Brown is also 80.

Everybody have a wonderful Wednesday.

I forgot. I have been looking for drawings of the 1910 NP Ellensburg Depot. Have a spot for a passenger terminal and ran across the real thing a few years ago while fanning in Ellensburg. Thing is huge ~40' x 120'. Condensing/compressing would be the order of the day. Anyway, low and behold said drawings, history and other tidbits showed up in my mail box yesterday inside the NPRHS quarterly; magic I guess. Station design was also used in Yakima, and Toppenish. The Sandpoint ID ( Amtrak ) station kinda looks somewhat like that design, just a cut down simplified version.

Could not find my pix of thing ... yet.

Good morning all!

Happy Hump Day!

Another warm Northern Illinois day today. Currently its a balmy 77F with the high going to top out at 93F. I will be in the pool again this
afternoon. I left the solar cover off last night since the water was getting a little warm yesterday.

Nothing much planned for the day. I do have a load of laundry started and I have to empty the dishwasher later.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning on this soupy hump day. Dewpoint is 75°F and it's already 80°F here at 0830. Hot steamy day on tap, and the next several days. I hope my A/C enjoyed the short vacation because now it's back to overtime.

Walmart forgot the hamburger buns. Last month it was the potato chips. They said they'd get them out to me. Glad I wasn't planning on grilled hamburgers today. Their delivery has always been correct over the last two years I've been using this service. Now it seems I can't get an order without something missing.

Staying mostly indoors today, though when the back yard becomes shaded around 1400, it's not too, too bad outside with a breeze.

Santafewillie, the Falklands War was a big military news item while I was serving. We weren't sure at first if the Iron Lady was going to ask President Reagan for a favor or not.

The grandson played on a soccer team a few years ago where the team always refused the participation metals. The coaches went up and got them and per the SIL one of that team’s coaches the head coach still has them.

I want my grandson to have fun and enjoy playing the game but compete to his best ability. If he can say he tried his best, win or lose I’m ok with that. My 1st question typically is did you have fun? Or if he’s been rocked pretty good, are you ok?
