Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those who rely on the Stork instead of FedEx to deliver babies
It's troy again...
Two sagas mostly complete.
As for the pooping palace for my fuzzy buddy, they gave me three options:
1. Send the base unit in for diagnosis and repair. Cost $180+ship
2. Get a new base unit (as in the lower part with the brain) for $300
Option 1 is 1/3rd the cost of a new, upgraded unit
Option 2 is 1/2+ the cost of a new, upgraded unit.
I asked for a loyal and frustrated customer discount on a new unit. This one is 4 years old, well past warranty, and well used.
Got one of these (same unit, but with the wife, minus the steps. My cat is black, but just as smug when he drops a Level 12 Stinkbomb)
Should be here Monday or Tuesday? I think it's by UPS or FedEx. Both deliver well in our neck of the woods
Saga #2: The Fence
Reminder: We're in a row of Townhouse Condos. Our building has 10 units, and we're in the middle. Each patio area has a privacy fence to either side, and a converted carport serving as a garage behind the patio.
The fence guys finished our patio, and the one next to ours. Have a new fence the length, With a sturdy, reinforced gate.
However, if you recall the earlier patio pics right after the demolition of the old... The neighbor we share the fence with had a brick overlay along her walk between the garages. They placed the brick herringbone pattern on top of the old sidewalk. So, the guys made the top line up. Which leaves a cat-sized gap at the bottom of my gate.
I didn't catch it until they'd packed up and left. And we let our cat onto the patio during the summer. Don't want him escaping through that gap.
I'll be hitting Lowes this morning to get a green-treated fence board. I'll install it across the bottom of that gap. If I'm smart, I'll remove it in the winter, and put it back each spring. That gap will help with opening the fence after a few inches of snow.
