Is it really cheaper? It sure isn't convenient for me. In my case, Fedex probably gets as close as a mile away and they then turn around and go back 12 miles to town and the Post Office. USPS comes out the next day and leaves me a notification, since the package won't fit in the mailbox and our house is over a mile away and they won't leave it by the side of the road. If I go to the mailbox that day or the next, (sometimes it might be 2-3 days), I then have to drive 12 miles to town and another 12 miles back. A package that Fedex had in my neighborhood on Monday, I might not actually receive until Thursday or Friday. Wednesday if I am lucky! UPS and Amazon both know the way, why not Fedex???All shipping companies use what we call "last mile delivery". They deliver to your local post office and the mail person brings it to you. It is often the cheaper option.
The only thing worse than a lawn mower that won't run is......one that does !
Even better if she can drive tooHmmm - I just finished cutting our yard, seriously. It's the only time I get some peace and quiet time for me - so I love it :
As for loosing your driving rights and having the Missus drive - that's great IF she has a license![]()
Get well soon Tom.By golly you guys are bringing back some memories. All those westerns were must see. That and Sunday morning wrestling on WGN -Chicago.
I have Covid! Yes getting dizzy can be an effect and the doctor decided that was it. Of course a test confirmed it.
Did a bunch of things at the exam that would have made me dizzy without going in dizzy. Thought at first it might be Parkinson’s because my sister has it. But I feel really good right now and wide awake
I going to reply to my own thread. Before Andy Kaufman became a big comedy star he hid and jumped in front of Elvis and told him I'm going to be a star someday. Elvis replied "good I got to go" but my Marine Corps friend came up with this appeasement long before Elvis.I think one of my USMC friends had a good take on all pollical type comments. If someone said, my religion is better than your religion. He would say good, I got to go. That's me. If someone said to me I love the Dodgers and hate the Yankees. My reply is good I got to go.
Swal
In theory it is cheaper. One truck drops off twenty or more packages to a post office. The post office will have a truck on every street to make those final deliveries. Is it really cheaper? Glad your feeling better. This is a tough time to get sick, the weather is breaking and getting warmer and the last place you want to be is in the house after being there all winter.I am feeling much better and the 2 Covid home tests today indicate negative.
@Smudge617, you have no recourse at all? What about negligence and them leaving your parcel in secure? They (the Royal Mail) must have some form of a duty of care when it comes to property, surely? Secondly, just because they have a picture of the package - that does not mean that it was delivered to the correct address, just that it was delivered to an Address.Got an email while at work, informing me the Security Barrier I ordered last week would be delivered today, couple of hourd later, had another saying it had been delivered by Royal Mail, and proof of delivery (foto of package), got home, nope no package, check the neighbours, no, nothing, seems to have disappeared, likely stolen, because the Royal Mail has proof of delivery, I can't claim either a replacement or a refund, so now have to order another one, wonderful.
Admittedly it's only about $10, but none the less, I'm highly annoyed at the moment.

I would be spitting fire mate as I am sure you are. Lets hope they treat what i just sent you with a bit more respect.........
Often, the shipper determines the option. You pay a fixed charge for S&H, and they putz around with the product, sending it the cheapest way, which very often is the slowest way. Some vendors allow you to select your preferred level of shipping, others do not. Anything involving the USPS sucks. Is it really cheaper? It sure isn't convenient for me.
