That coincides with part of my thinking ...
1. The more people, the more increase in body temperatures all adding to global warming scenario.
2. The more paved streets and rooftops collecting rays of the Sun add to global warming.
Eventually, there will be too many people, no trees for O2, no firewood, and shrinking food supplies.

Just my take - your mileage may vary!
Bingo - dingo! I believe that. Take Newark - Liberty Airport, (EWR), for example.
1. Highway US 1 & 9, The Airport complex, NJ Turnpike, Conrail Terminal Operations, Port Newark / Port Elizabeth. Elizabethport Industrial complex.
Highest temperatures in the Metro New Yawk area. Solid concrete from 1&9 to Newark Bay. Builds and holds heat.
2. Highest ambient temperatures in the most congested urban areas.
3. They keep removing trees for more residential development and shopping centers.
4. Farmers are converting fields into "solar" farms. Less more expensive food, for summer only power generation.

Gotta agree with you....

Well it cant be as bad as the economists say .My son spends a month in flordia every year he has his own business I suppose that helps. The economists will only tell you what they want you to hear.
Mike CGW
Most economists are academics, who deal in (economic) theory, not practical application. Tom is 100% correct. BTW, they are totally baffled by today's economy. But they are the ones who advise presidents and congress, and influence laws and regulations, but have no idea how their theories affect the general population.

Good evening Ladies and Gents!
We'ins attended a birthday bash for the family today. Many have birthdays that are within a week either side of Easter. It was a beautiful day and the temp finally worked it's way into the 70's. Counting Kids, Great Grand Kids, Moms and Pops, Aunts and Uncles, and Cousins there were about 55 or so involved? The fair was Honey Baked Ham, scalloped potatoes, Cornbread and corn casserole with jalapenos, and an everything salad!

My youngest Grandson - just over two - finally began to talk: He told his Mom that his plate was too hot! She exclaimed: We were worried and concerned that you had not tried to talk up until now? He replied: Up to now everything was fine!!!! :):D:D

Love the posts and pictures everyone!

CHRISTIAN -- I don't think that I have ever seen that many wagons traversing tight radius track like your example ... BRAVO!

Maybe hey could just take the glass out of the new frame and install it in the old one. In my 43 years in the window and patio door business, I found that most patio doors all use the same standard size tempered glass, regardless of the manufacturer. A 6068 door uses 34" x 76". Of course spacer size varies in different manufacturers insulated units.
Yep, I spent time in the business too. Asked about that other day. That’s what they were doing was replacing the glass but lead time, build time and install time all added up. Today we said new door.

Happy Easter Everybody!

Happy spring holidays to all who celebrate

Here are a few of the many:
Easter
Easter is the time that Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are many different Easter customs that surround this holiday. People usually get brand new clothes and shoes to celebrate the Easter holiday. Other traditions consist of activities from decorating and hiding of eggs, to the Easter Bunny who brings children basket of sweet treats, to the decorating of Easter trees.

Passover
Passover is the Jewish spring holiday that is celebrated by the Seder. This is a time when Jewish families honor their ancestors and celebrate the importance of being freed from slavery.

Holi
Holi is the Hindu spring festival. Hindu’s celebrate the colors are associated with spring. People usually wear green while the children get to fill water guns with red and yellow colored liquids to squirt at each other. They also fill bamboo straws with colored powder to blow.

May Day
May Day is celebrated all over the world but has its roots in England. Children get to dance around large poles called maypoles. These large poles are decorated with strands ribbon. Children will grab a ribbon and dance around the pole. Once they are finished with their dance, the pole will be wrapped in the ribbon.

Basanth
Muslims greet the first day of spring with a kite-fighting contest. Boys create fighter kites in hopes that their kite will be the last kite flying. They cover the strings of their kites with glass powder to help defeat their opponents.[/URL]

Songkran
Songkran is the New Year’s festival celebrated in mid-April in Thailand. This festival is surrounded by the theme of water. The festival consists of parades where large Buddha statues squirt the crowd with water. Children in the villages celebrate by throwing water on one another.

And, to help you get whichever Bunny-filled holiday on, may I wish you

Good Morning!

The wife had to go to work today, as part of her regular shift at the planer mill. No overtime pay; so I suppose Easter isn't considered much of a holiday. Friday was overtime pay for her.

I'll be heading over to the son's house for coffee soon. Gonna watch the g-kids hunt for eggs, and then take the rest of the day for myself. Maybe I'll check out Beaver Creek again.
The temperature is supposed to reach 62F today, so most of the snow should be gone. No need for the hat and jacket.

Have a great Easter, everyone!
I'll leave you with an older photo of a couple of engines heading home from the staging yard:

Gotta make tracks! Have a great day.

Happy Easter,

Once again, it's been a busy weekend so far. was 75° yesterday and supposed to be the same or a little warmer today. got the local kids coming over for lunch.

I found the leak in the sprinkler system and hopefully I can fix it without needing to dig out the primary valve box. It's a secondary valve in the main water line that I'm not sure I need. How a PVC ball valve that's never closed can start leaking, but I think the system is abut 24 years old. It was winterized (Basically all the water taken out of the system), so what do I know.
I'll catch up in a bit!

PATRICK -- YOU AND I NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL on YARD watering systems!
Apparently we dozed off during that lesson.
You and I seem to have the most trouble keeping a system running, or should I say stopping?

I've got one of the cheap plastic spray booths that works fine, but is just a little too small for my taste. I've been looking for decent designs on building one from scratch. Found this one and thought it interesting. Mine will probably be from leftover lumber I've got on hand, not cardboard.

But this video shows that even cardboard is a decent material.

Good morning. A beautiful Easter Sunday morning in So. Central Wisconsin. It is 49f degrees now heading to 69. But it’s sunny, clear skies and calm. I have already done my 2 miles walking outside today for the 1st time in Wisconsin this year.

We have an Easter brunch buffet at 11:30 this morning in one of Madison’s downtown hotel ballrooms. The buffet brunch has become less available since Covid but this is something we have done since both our kids were born. So about 38 years minus the 1st Covid Easter. Terry agrees with me that’s the only one we have missed since we started. Second return trip to this one.

The original plan was I would not be hitting the train room today. Then we had all been invited on an Easter charity ride and barbecue this afternoon and evening. I have no desire to pay to ride those big critters today even though watching the grandkids handle their horses is interesting and often entertaining. The 11 year old granddaughter has Down Syndrome and her horse must have some sort of understanding with her. He is so calm for her. She has been riding “River” for 7 years. Before that she was in the saddle with mom, dad or grandma. So along with the SIL we have been excused for the ride. We both though will be there for the barbecue at 6. So I will be visiting the trains today

Enjoy the day
