Was wondering what happened to you. I can see that you've been busy. That is really looking great. Nice detail. cheer.gif

Thanks guys I'm looking forward to diving back in. I will be working on a train station that will be added to the wharf area, its made by rail engineering agency called Horseshoe Meadows Depot.

Hi Lynn nice to see you back.I have been away for a few months still have not moved to the new house so I have no layout started, but I see you have been busy and the layout looks great.

Thanks John, perhaps you can build a structure or bridge something like that. I know moving sucks.

Lynn, the scene with the trestle is really great! I am really looking forward to the wharf scene. Thank you very much for posting!

This will be a sort of play by play on my train station called Meadowshoe Meadow Depot it is made by Railway Design Agency.I'm not real good at this narrating stuff like others are so please excuse this.

The kit comes with a large ringed instruction booklet. I would be completely lost if I had never built a craftman kit before as the illustrations are not the best and although there are a couple large photos of the walls in place it still takes alot of lookie see to figure out which is which.

The walls all had to have base sheathing added to the bottoms.Bracing added I did a test fit of the four walls.

I gave the castings a soak in alcohol and took out to let dry off then a coat of earth colour paint. I then gave the windows and doors a tinted coverage of floquil roof brown and put them aside. As well I gave the walls a tinted floquil depot buff coat.

With the walls dry I put in the board end joints and nail holes. I then installed all doors and window frame, Once this was done I gave a relief wash to bring everything out.

wow , just finished reading this entire thread. Beautiful work Lynn . 3 hours ago I was so proud of myself for making a few furnace filter trees ..... now , not so much :)

Funny Larry. Furnace filter trees are made from furnace filters cut into a bit of a circle , sprayed green and stuck on skewers basicly other than perhaps spraying them with hair spray and then sprinkling fine ground foam over them.

Yep. I am watching a tutorial about them now. I think I have the skills to do a few. I have a lot of 3 ft dowles I used to prop up my tomatoes this season. (28 plants and probably 100 dowles).
That should make a few trees? And they are already weathered! :D

Thick 'Buffer' pads also will work for trees the same as furnace filter and different colors are available with them. Cut to shape and size dip or spray with glue and sprinkle or dip in ground cover and WALLA!

Sure Larry but I think the 3ft dowels may be a bit out of scale for HO .
