Hi All...

Just got back from the mountains. It was an absolutely beeeeUtiful day. When we got to Lyons and had to decide Right---to Estes Park or LEFT---to Allenspark, we counted cars and decided that a 4 hour drive to Estes was out of the question.

Stopped and got some shots of Mt Meeker, Longs Peak (the middle photo with the notch missing, which I am sorry to say is the only 14er I have climbed so far), and Lily Lake.

Jeffrey...back to bed!!!! Feel better soon!

Bob...sounds like a great day! We saw some very cool old cars coming down the mountain from Estes. Must have been a show...

Chris...CONGRATS on the 2 new accounts! That's terrific!

Hope you all have a good evening.
Sandy

Bob, did ya eat any Deep fried Orieo Cookies, Snicker Bars, or milkyways? God, those are good. When we went to the Strawberry festival this guy was making Deep fried, Orieo cookie/snicker bar/Milkyway ka bobs!:p Talk about a sugar high/ heart attack on a stick!:D:D:D

How about a TurDucKen?----pieces of white/dark meat from chicken stuffed inside of breast of duck that was then stuffed into a turkey? Oh, and with pineapple glaze? And do not even think about the cholesterol count!

Phillip, sorta. I used to own a 1967 VW with a Manx engine. I couldn't figure out why VW/Bosch parts didn't work when I gave it a tune up. The engine was a Porsche!!!! But, if you are wantng me to put that 454 in a Rabbit. I don't think I have a shoehorn big enough.

The car shows were cold, damp, and miserable. But, the food was scrumdeli-icious, as usual. My sugar didn't do bad either, other than right after that elephant ear. But, I still bought two more for tomorrow, one for breakfast and one for a snack....maybe I should haver bought three......

Some really nice cars. But, I left the camera at home on the buffet. But, I know of someone that was clicking everything he saw. I'll jump on his photobucket account and "borrow" some. We had a great parking s[pot and I didn't want to have to walk from China if I left to get the camera and returned.

Well, time to got to "the hop". See Y'all later.

Bob

R.B....Good to see you're pulling out of that stuff....Seems one of my DIL's has come down with it as well....All take precautions...Stay out of crowded spaces, if you can...

Flo...What's the tab for keeping these free-loaders supplied with coffee..?? :D

My sister just called me with comments about her new DVD player. I had recommended to her that she get a DVD player that had the 1080p upgrade. She hooked it up tonight and was absolutely floored by the difference in quality on the 32" in her bedroom. Tomorrow she's going back and getting another one for the 52" in the living room. I told her it pays to listen to a technophobe once in a while, even if he is your brother.

Happy Saturday Night Yall – or it might technically be Sunday morning if I don’t finish typing this within the next 30 minutes.

I just went to one of those annual dinners that my wife gets invited to, the hospital where she practices does award ceremonies for docs who make themselves highly visible. I usually dread going to these things, but this time I was glad I went; the supper was awesome! Rosemary chicken breast, beef tenderloin that practically melted in my mouth, mash ‘tators, and “broccolini” (Italian broccoli?). Whatever it was, it was spiced and flavorful enough that I didn’t have to drown it in butter like I normally do with any cooked green veggies. And devils food cake for dessert. I swallowed two ibuprofens as a precautionary measure since that concentrated chocolate often gives me a nasty headache

Sandy – those photos are gorgeous, in fact that fourth one is postcard material IMHO. It looks just like a Norwegian fiord. I’m positive I see a few troll faces scowling in the rock formations toward the right. [My parents who were both natives of Norway, taught me how to spot things like that! ;)]

Chris – glad to see you’re picking up new lawn accounts. Perhaps your on the way to being your own boss.

Jeff – I’d keep taking it easy for at least another day, flu’s have a nasty way of flaring back up if you push yourself hard too early.

Karl – I’ll have to remember that anti-goose defense move. Luckily the b******** never come near my property.

Barry, that turduckin thing sounds a tad too rich for my blood, LOL

. . .

Oboy, 11:55pm - I made it! Goodnite....

"Flo, I have 20oz. steak and egg breakfast, large coffee, OJ, and Glass of water. also Put this on Karls tab Tanks Flo!;)" Hey, Karl the glass of water is fer your wallet fire!:D

Well, tomarrow is the begining of the 2 week count down. Actually I been ready to leave the day I knew I was being Let go. If the truth be told I'm kinda excited about it:confused::eek:and emotionaly I'm wiped out.....:o:( this whole thing was and is nuts. I have someone looking at the layoff paper work the county gave me...............I haven't heard from them but I can see the effects of their digging into this layoff. If nothing comes of it, just watching Personal/Management bumping in to stuff doing damage control..........."Priceless:D:)!"

Hey my Steak and eggs are here! Man that was fast...got to go, be back soon........

Afternoon, everyone.

Chris, glad to hear you got some more mowing jobs but I think you should drop the idea of starting a lightning protection business. :D

Lightning protection?:confused: Rex told me he wanted more power for his trains! I was trying my hand at turning rexs howse in to a power plant!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

No worries here Chris, remember, for the first month, the newbies get the tab. Flo, just hand this to Steamfreak! :D

Good Morning

Had a nice quiet evening in the trainroom with 'Spring' making all kindsa comments and actually not getting in my face---I was building up some more of the trestlework so he stayed out of it--heeheehee--a well behaved kitty is a good thing:):)

Ken I made that Turducken a couple of years ago for our church group's Christmas get together---had enough left over to feed us for a couple of weeks!!:D It is pretty rich! LOL

Going to spend today doing some work on my own layout---the issue I'm having is building up a couple of yards so that there is some space to 'service' the diesels at the end of the Thompson Mill branch---I'm looking through some books on that---:);)

Flo, I'll have a coffee and a super duper breakfast special please!!

Good Morning...

Ken...thanks for the kind words! I am just getting to know this camera and am having a blast. Of course, it ALWAYS helps to have good material with which to work! ;) Sounds like the dinner was delicious! Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Here are just a couple more (and I promise I'll stop!). Just love the aspens.

Have a great Sunday :)

Sandy

Got hit by another fever last night. This one however has nothing to do with the virus I was battling. That's finished. No, there seems to be an infection trying to take hold in my ankle. I'll be at the docs bright and early to see about getting that nipped in the bud. I drained it this morning and the swelling has gone down some but that's just a stop gap measure.

Time for lunch fellows! You guys with your talk of food has overcome me. Flo, one large BBQ pork sandwich, fries, and a chocolate shake...bill to GUS, of course.

Nothing much going on here: Bama won, the rains are gone and left us with a beautiful Sunday (81deg, 48%humidity), Ralph and Archie are still chewing up our porch lattice piece by piece, and I am trying to get motivated to start washing the travel trailer for our trip Thursday.

I took one of the old TV's apart and was hoping for a fuse. No such luck! It probably got the bridge rectifier or the voltage regulator...not worth the effort to drag out the O-scope or search for parts, so into the trash pile it goes.

Sandy: You still may be trying to learn your camera, but the quality of your photos is outstanding. Makes me want to haul the travel trailer to Colorado and just stay :). Aspens are such an interesting tree: growing in colonies, long lifespans, etc. I saw on Discovery where there is one colony in Utah believed to have a root system 80,000 years old and be the largest single living organism in the world.

Chris: My thoughts are with you, Pal! I know you will be relieved when that final day arrives and you can get on with it.

Jeffrey: Shouldn't you have been wearing a special podiatric shoe or something. I'm only assuming that you have been wearing your boots or shoes cutting grass, etc.

Terry: I double checked the trailer fridge and it is cooling on A.C. just fine. Glad you mentioned that; I turned it on but forgot to go back and check for cooling (wipe brow!) ;).

Aww, c'mon! A guy of your talents? Why, I saw an Olds 455 in a Honda Z once. Of course, the guy had to sit in the center of what was once the back seat to drive it, but it was on there!

Sandy #3 reminds me of Navajo Lake in Utah http://www.navajolakelodge.com/index.html ! When I was a small hatchling living in Kaly.............Forna, We use to vacation at Navajo Lake. Ahhhhhh....Childhood!
Any who how, Navajo was a wonderful place for me!

Chris...I can see it, too. They do look a lot alike. Sure felt good there yesterday. It was in the high 60's and there was that lovely mountain breeze. Had a great time.

Rex...Thanks! I am having a blast with this camera. The wonderful thing about digital is that if the photo looks spooey, you can get rid of it and it's not a waste of film. :D

Sure I have, but my feet can only take so much and they aren't the only problem. Diabetes isn't discriminatory. Not only are the bodies glucose levels effected but there's also the immune system, the bones, the muscles, and much more more.

Tomorrow may be the last day of freedom for me for a while. I have to go in to see the foot doc about this infection that's trying to take my foot and ankle over and he may park my carcass in the hospital for it for a while. I did have a little fun today though. I went to lunch with my mother and had a light taco salad. She wants to know who the heck I am and what have I done with her son. Later I went to dinner with my sister and had a light salad and a chicken fried steak. I cut most of the breading off and ate the meat. I brought half of it home so I can nibble on it later if I want to.
