Hello gang,

Another productive Saturday in the trainroom. Not operating, but finished up a lot of track repairs and restored the buildings that I had taken off to reach [and fix] the problem areas. Now for a little more de-cluttering, and I can start running trains once more!

Ray, I'd be more than happy to show photos if things looked different tonite compared to before - but they don't, everything's the same minus the eariler track problems. Life is good when there are no derailments!

Hello Rex, I figured if I hollered loud enough one of you guys would answer!:D So you've been doing some MOW yourself, eh? I see GM has been busy giving history lessons and painting a fleet of Roundhouse hoppers.

Steve - wow I sure hope you were sitting and not standing when you took that arial shot from your roof, I find myself instinctively grabbing for something to hold onto whenever I look at it!

Jos, I offer my condolences to your countrymen who suffered as a result of those storms. Judging from Steve's pictures they were really bad ones.

Texas Paul - Why sleep away a good retirement? I'm expecting to see an operating ore dock in your basement with a few Cleveland Cliff steamers moored to it by this time next year - no more excuses!:p

Larry, I see your outlook on snow is about the same as mine. My kids look at me as if I'm from another planet when I say I dislike the white stuff. They see snowmen in the backyard, I see gridlock in the highways!

I still like to make a snowman once in a while. My girls (29 & 32) think I am crazy. Little do they know how close to being right they are HA HA HA but these idiots on the road talking on the cell phone, doing their hair, fixing their make up drive me nuts. They do not drive well in good weather let alone when we have dicy conditions on the roadways.

Morning all, Snow forcast for later today but raining now,,, a good excuse to MR in the garage.

Ken L i tried standing up but the wind was very gusty so i opted for a few "stradling the ridge shot's"

Good morning all! Looks like a lot of you will be seeing the white stuff. Just rain for us...as usual. I would love to build a snow man, but it has been years since I have even seen a snow flake:( .

KenL: You got it all wrong; napping is a retirement perk. Think about all the times at your work, around 2:30-3:00 p.m. What do you do, yawn, eyes get heavy, and then you jump up and run to the coffee pot just to stay functional. With retirement, you yawn, you s-n-o-o-z-z-z-z-e :D :D

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' Luc!

Mornin' Jeffrey!

What Jeffrey is having looks real good, but I think I'll stick with the #2 special, over easy on the eggs, bacon and some of that awesome sour dough toast.

14° here in the Finger Lakes this morning. It's gonna get all the way up to 23° later. Hey this is Camping Weather! Nothing like Winter camping!

Hmmm...haven't seen any of the 'Bama Boys in here recently, where are y'all hiding?

Present and accounted for... I had to do a couple of days in DFW this week for work and haven't been online to much. Man the weather was miserable there, wet and cold. Now that I'm back home it's here.

Rex: Thanks for backing me up there. Retirement is doing what you want when you want and the way you want.
Grandman: You were in DFW? Dang I'm just 15 miles west of Ft. Worth. I wish that we could have at least talked a bit. Let me know the next time you are in the area.
Well it's time for bed. God Night All

I didn't know you were so close by. :(

Our company's small jet gets heavy inspections (C Check) done at TriMech Aviation (Meacham airport). I went out on Thursday to make sure everything was done and on schedule to bring it home Friday.

Man the weather out there was lousy... The darn Age of Steam museum was even closed because of it. :(

Mornin' Flo. Just java fer me please! :)

Now yall don't have a heart attack but I've done some more work on my layout! Finished up the staging yards, and am now working to bulletproof the track. I've also got to come up with a PRACTICAL method of getting the turnouts thrown, with a positive indication of which way they are thrown. For me that means a manual system, easy to install, easy maintanence, and can't entail a lot of money, so any electrical machine is out. Comptrollers orders.:p
I've been thinking on this for a while and I may have a solution. It does involve popsicle sticks and springs. I'm gonna try and get some stuff together and make a prototype to test, and see if it works. If it does pictures will follow.

Later
