Hiya people,
I'm having a quiet moment at work so I thought I'd drop in and down a few...
Chris - glad to hear the hospital where your wife is at is a decent one, and that she'll be out of there quickly. My late father-in-law, when he had surgery for colon cancer back in 1999, was stuck in the hospital almost 2 weeks after his operation. His surgeon went on vacation immediately after the operation, and the doc covering for him didn't have a clue about my FIL's situation - to make a long story short, mistakes were made. FIL said that post-op period was closest thing to Hell on earth he ever went through!
All this talk about SmartCars: The first time I ever saw one, I knew it looked familiar but I couldn't quite place it - then when I was looking at some baby pix of my now-19yr-old daughter, I remembered:

No thanks Mr. O, I'll keep my Durango for those 800-mile trips!
Tony - it's true, Woodstock is fairly close to I-70 "as the crow flies" - but it takes me ~7 minutes to drive there from the nearest exit because of all the zig-zagging. The B&O [now CSX] has a very interesting grade crossing there: it's near the end of a passing siding, so I often see trains parked there waiting for the opposing train to pass. This gives me time to race back to the house and grab my camera - I've snagged quite a collection of photos at that location.
Jeff - bummer about that mower blade. I often find similar landmines like that in my grass, ususally garden tools left out by the kids

. So far nothing has totally destroyed my blades like that, but they've left a few notches
Larry - glad to hear you had a
day off!
Rex/Karl - I'll
try to remember to snap a photo or two of my project tonight, it won't be anything worth writing home about though. I might as well borrow some vehicles from
Jim's layout to pose in the pix, I don't think he'll miss them - as long as I put them back in
exactly their original places before he gets back!
Corey that's an interesting statistic about hospital admissions. I was reading one of my wife's med journals a few years back and they were predicting a severe shortage of nurses by about this time.
...oh well, bac2work. Sorry if I missed anybody.
