Good stuff so far.
Some newly acquired items:
A KCS covered hopper. I think the maker is AccuRail.
A 50 foot plug/sliding door BN boxcar, Athearn RTR.
The M.T. Arms Hotel from DPM. This will be cut in half along it's long axis to make two relief flats.
Finished this up during the week. Diesel fuel service for the main engine yard. The basic is a Model Power kit and I added some piping from Walthers and a pump & motor unit that I can't recall who it was made by except it is white metal and cost 65 cents back in the Dark Ages. The pump and the hook up hose are to refill the storage tank. It still needs to be blended into the yard with a containment berm and so on.
To the left is the old ash pit from the steam era with a MOW car spotted over it. These days it is only used for a quick underbelly inspection or as an ash pit whenever the local historical society runs a steam powered fan trip.
Well I've not done a great deal recently, save completing one loop of track and nearly completing the other. However I have stumbled on a better location for some buildings.
So last weekend I decided to relocate the freight house across the rails. I had no reason to do this, I just wondered what it'd look like. So one week later (thanks to a heatwave that made doing anything a chore) I went back in to have a look.
And then I had an apostrophe. "Move the gas station to the empty space left by the freight house. It turned out it works really well, and the new configuration now provides a nice frame to the tracks.
and here's the newly relocated Dinoco station in its place. There's only one hitch, the power track box is now really obvious next to the garage. Guess I'll have to get creative with some greenery.
Did some work on the diorama this past week.,including weathering the rails and working in the road bed.
The weeds are really taking over on this LV branch line. Here are some LV units running light. GP38ac leads GP18 305 and sister 311. I used Atlas 38's to represent the LV ac's. The geep 18 is a Proto 2000 model.
Happy Modeling,

Hey Chris, is that Kato Unitrack your using? Your track looks great I likes the weed make me want to break out the Roundup!LOL.
wow those weeds do look good whats the secret to those.. plant and trim?
oh and the locos are great also LOL!!!!
Been doing some work on a new DPM kit.
Jeffery – nice weathering – what are you using?
Mike – the fuel tank looks good.
Hathaway – how about a couple signs on the power box – DANGER, HIGH VOLTAGE or something similar
Chris – beautiful engines, scenery and photography.
Here is a quick shot of Molden Feed & Seed Elevator. Have to finish the scenery in the foreground and along the fence, ballast track and dullcote the building.
Jeffery – nice weathering – what are you using?
I'm using Floquil paints and an alcohol/black acrylic wash.
Chris, very nice work all around. You got to love an 18 with a nice pair of 38's.
Jeffrey, hats off to you for working 2 DPM kits at the same time. I've been working on 1 and there are times Ii just have to put it aside when painting the trim.
Hathaway, maybe paint that power box the Dino green and add a decal to make it appear to be part of the gas station?
Jon, great grain elevator! I like the damage bulge in the chain link fence. It's been years since I saw a John Allen G&D car and within a few weeks both you and Jeffery show one.
The other DPM kit I'm working on.
Express milk train holding up the out bound freight.
glad you explained that - I thought the 2 engineers had stopped off at Christophers to get one for the road

More progress on the freight station. The first of several paint treatments has been applied to the roof.
Chris, Yes the track is Kato unitrack. I painted the rails using a Floquil paint marker. I then weathered the track and roadbed using various rust and soot weathering powders. I then sealed the deal with dullcoat.
Trent, the weeds are quit simple to use. They're Silflor Buffalo Grass, just peel and stick. The directions suggest using glue, which I did. This stuff is great.
Jon, Thank you for the kind comments.
Mike, I couldn't agree with you more, that is one sweet loco line up. Thanks.
Everything posted looks great. Thanks for sharing your modeling efforts.
Happy Modeling
Chris
Set the elevator in place and have it pretty well blended in. What do you think?
Trying something different on the uploaded pix. Smaller file size but still good quality - I think.

That's the story I was told by the Box cabs Engineer!

It's kinda funny he wasn't complaining about his back like he normally does........hmmmmmmm?
