The junk shop. You can find most anything here, if you dig around long enough. As with all by buildings they are not "planted" yet as the track work is on going.
Went visiting layouts in Galveston this week. First up is the club layout. Room is roughly 5000 square feet. Layout is cantilevered decks with a pair of helix's for transitions between levels.
Then a couple of private layouts, one set in the eastern US the other in the west.
Dan, very nice job on the store! (I want that couch too but I'll settle for the stove!) Is that a skunk in the barrel?
Matt, where is that club.... fantastic layout! The private layout pix are great as well!
I didn't do anything spectacular but did wire my system in...
Also picked up this Athearn F45 avec DCC and sound:

Yep and a coon. We get a lot of critters around here

Nice stuff, guys. Rico you're going to love DCC.
A geep dropping off a boxcar at Eshleman's Feed Mill and new chain link fence at Musser Supply.

Rico: Club layout is in Galveston. Here are a couple of more shots.
Great start guys! I hope to post some new stuff this weekend...
Fantastic shots so far!
Matt, is that club in Galveston open to visitors. I'd love to see the operation if it is. Those "private" layouts look a lot better than any clubs I've belonged to.
Dan, that's a really nice junk shop. I'll take the couch on the roof too. Between you and mat, we've got two of the best scratchbuilders and modelers I've ever seen.
Rico, nice, neat job on the electronics. The F45 looks good too.
DJ, that chin link fence looks a lot neater than mine. How did you make it?
Chris, looks like you've got the tracks in place. Time for some real buildings next.
I'll be posting some pics of the UP 1180 making the test run on the downtown spur. Mayor Bubba did have to get some stimulus money to replace that low hanging traffic light on Main Street with some fancy new ones so the 1180 could make it down the street without ripping down all the wires.
Hi Jim: It's from BLMA, etched ss. A little pricey, but low frustration level.
Hey, Hey, Hey! Off to a great start again this weekend.
I have been making some stop signs for use on the SLO&W the last couple of days. I also assembled a phone box for a turnut that leads directly onto the yard track.
Got them installed just a few hours ago and did some scenicing in the area.
Here are the stop signs from a different angle:
And an overview of the area:

Really great stuff this week from everybody!
Building in progress is the DPM Cutting Scissors. I made a couple of minor changes by opening the truck loading dock door to display an interior which will be lighted when the building is done. Corrogated steel roof has been added to the loading dock canopy.
A couple of vents added to the tall end wall to add some interest. Frosted glass on both floors next to the loading dock walk in door are the rest rooms. Hey, even little people have to go too! Above them on the roof is a plumbing vent pipe.
Back of building at trackside. Waiting for Cornerstone roof detail pack so I can finish the 2 roofs with vents, etc. Window shades not yet applied. Paint is Floquil antique white with aged concrete and maroon trim. Lightly weathered with rust and India ink.
Partial interior for the open truck loading door. McGinnis now stock 5 colors!, New Haven red, white, and black; and Lobuc Valley red orange & grey.
DPM are nice but I don't think I want to build 2 in a row.

Two L&A patched GP40's (ex-UP and ex-D&RGW) wait on the Sundown spur for a freight to pass by on the mainline.
I was in Elkhart lake mid week working inside the Road America race track. I took my bike for a ride up and down the line that runs thry town. the track is rarely used anymore. I found some freight cars stored out on the main line and a few in a siding. all empty. the rails are dated to 1914! and the last train that was said to use the line was an excursion steam engine bringing santa to town.. 5mph speed limit on this line LOL!!! every other tie is so bad that a spike cant keep the rail from moving side to side.
Jeff, your file hall is a very nice one. It turned out very nicely indeed.
Mike's building is very well done also. Ray, I find your trestle scene to be highly realistic...and well imaged. Lots of good modelling all around.
Here I show a 150 ton wrecker on the RIP about to depart from a quick changeout of a broken truck on a 70 ton hopper.
