Adam, it's pictures like yours that are convincing my wife that we need an outdoor layout when we buy our next house. We live in Minnesota and she's convinced! Keep up the good work.

Wow, great start to the the weekend!

Jeffrey, I'll forgive you, since you at least left most of the UP colors on. :)

Adam, is that your train and layout? If so, I'm extremely jealous. That steel arch bridge is fantastic. Amazing what can be done outside now.

DJ, that's the first time I've seen a shot of all the different levels together. Having the track, buildings, and roads on those different levels really adds to the realism of the scene.

John, a streetcar running on real overhead? Cool. :D How did you do the roads and what's that large building in the background?

I had to scratch build another turnout, this time for a friend. My tools are two NMRA gauges.

Well, I'd say we're off to a super start! :D I like the lighting and angle in your first image, Jeff. :D

John's image is unique, and very interesting with the camera angle. A ton of work in the catenary system!

Aytrain, wow...makes me want to jump up at least one scale. :D

Grampy, I think this could be one of your finest images, if not the finest. My sincere compliments. The sheds in the lower middle ground add a wonderful depth to the image. :)

In my contribution this week, I provide an overview of the Seneca Sub yard with a lone Union Pacific TTT-6 about to open up as it leaves the yard heading west and into the hills where it will do the heavy lifting it was designed to do.

Since you ask--the building is the Kibri "Leer Town Hall". See here:
http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/kib/kib8381.htm

No, it doesn't look very American!

The street is made from patching plaster with 1/15 proportion of carbon black added. The overhead fittings and girder rail were produced some time ago by Dick Orr; I don't know if anything like them is available now. The car is a Bowser model.

Yes, the guy who does the trolleys at our club (not me!) has kept steadily at it over the last few years. He can lay track too:

Nice start to the weekend folks!

My new flat cars (Tichy kits) are now in service and are on their way to pick up a load.... That's Connie #217 taking the lead on the local switching run.

I have been continuing to rebuild and relay the trackage in the logging line at Bald Mountain. Much of the old hand laid code 70 was badly out of guage and one curve was to tight for even my old Roundhouse Shay so I re did the entire bit. I have managed to preserve 2 hand laid stub end turnouts and sone of the original track between them. (Pardon the mess here...) Original code 70 track was laid close to 25 years ago.

Hello gang! Well I can't compete with what's on here already this week, but for your viewing enjoyment, I'll offer these. This time my younger son, (24!) snapped the pictures. The boys seem to like honing their photographic skills on the layout. A few more of Fox Valley and another on ther water front.
Is it a river, is it a bay, small lake? I haven't really decided.

John,
I llike those catenary. Decades ago I had a layout with catenary. Great work!

One hint, paint the wires with a dark green.

Wolfgang

Wolfgang, any three rail switch I built wouldn't look that good with 10 NMRA gauges. :) Nice job.

Crandell, good see more real steam showing up at Seneca Yard. :D Good looking picture.

John, that's some nice roadwork and beautiful fancy work on those traction switches. That kind of thing is way beyond my skills. That building looks good in the background, where the European heritage isn't quite as obvious.

Ray, nice shot of the 2-8-0 and good progress on the rehab work on the logging line. Not that I'll be around to see it, but I'd sure hate to think what my track would look like in 25 years.

Gary, I like the building in the last picture. Looks like a good shipping line office.

A few photos folks, water front and a tresle I built with my garage sale find of the year on it. A CNW eight car set with An Athrean power FA and dummy A & two dummy B Units. Needs some work and I really can't run it but for $75, could not pass up!
