Something I put together last night. I was thinking I'd have to weight it a little but the car and container together weigh in at the perfect NMRA recommended weight.

Looks like a perfect fit, Jeff.

For this week's contribution, I show a Pennsy J1 crossing the interchange bridge over Seneca River trailing a few coal hoppers.

I bought a Spectrum 2-8-0 on eBay and got it cheap because it had a missing screw in the valve gear. I was betting that I'd be able to replace the screw easily! Luckily it's the same as a common type of eyeglass screw, and one of the guys in the club just happened to have an eyeglass repair kit. So here it is. (No, the engine is not running on a stone parapet. There is track behind it!) The screw in question is in the 3rd driver, below the air pump, looking all shiny and new.

I think I got the valve gear eccentric wrongly set, and it should be trailing the main rod rather than leading it. Does anyone know?

Nicely done car and load, Jeffrey.

Crandell, I love it when you show your Pennsy trains. I esp. like the angle of that scene and photo.

Gary, very good looking loco, and weathered rail.

Switching CD Smoker, and the older guys playing with trains. DJ.

Rico, he's just leaning on the road, no problem, as I do it all the time. He's also preparing to spot a couple of cars on the siding. DJ.

First couple of tries of Graffiti on a couple of old tyco boxcars that I didnt care to mess up. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics..cant figure out for the life of me what my wife has done with the camera.

Busy at Circus WQ

Great shots as usual everyone, man there's some nice work here.

A trio of shots of the wagons and vehicles I'm doing to frame a late-40's railroad circus. Most of the wagons in these shots are reworked Walthers'(oop) resin models. The truck mounted wagons are modified Roco army vehicles. The odd cars are part of a Reading work train I'm also doing.

Jeffrey, nice container. Now that I think of it, I don't own one container. I guess that dates my era pretty well:)

Crandell, nide train and I always like that river scene. The poor sap in the second canoe looks like he's paddling with all his might against the current. :D

John, looks like you got a great deal. Your valve gear matches my 2-8-0 so I think you got it right. If I may make a suggestion, relocate the wires coming from the tender to the engine up a little higher and away from the drawbar or you will have derailment problems. If you paint them black, they will also blend in a lot better.

Gary, always nice to see a CN engine from the era when everything was still all English. ;)

DJ, nice switching scene. Even with the old guys cluttering it up, I like the overall view too. Layouts with more scenery than track always look so much better to me.

John F., looks like you're off to a great start. Nice job on the water. Canoes are very popular this year. :)

Aaron, I can't say I much like graffiti, but yours looks techincally good to me.

Theres some of it that I cant stand. And it is vandalism here in the real world. But..you also wont see too many trains with any amount of rolling freight behind em without it. And although tacky..ya gotta admit there is an art to some of it.
