I get the privilege of starting us off this weekend. This week has been switcher week here. I've got 7 SW1000/SW1500's I'm working on (detailing, painting, patching, etc.)

Nice work as usal on those switchers, Jerome. Neat patch job on the BN unit. Gramps, nice engines and I really like that water. Looks like a real stream with rapids. You should do an article for MR. They have one this month on how to do a stream with rapids that looks awful compared to yours.

Decided to experiment with long grass rather than the manicured lawn effect I normally get when Ive used flock. It started a bit longer and I had to attack it with my hair clippers !!
In the background the backscene buildings are in place, some additional ropes and clutter added to the dock, and white stripes round the warf timbers. (took these pictures outside for better light but left it a bit too late in the day)

Here are some shots of a pair of cafe's that I completed last week. Both are scratchbuilt, the only comercial parts are the windows and doors on the front of the Arrow Cafe. These are in O scale from a photo that a client sent me, even duplicated the figures shown in the photo poised on the front porch of the New England Cafe. Both have dining room interiors and lighting.

nice work gents, the grass looks great John :)

got a direct hit from a Sherman tank today and some bazooka hits, nothing to worry the tank crew though

Jim: Thanks for the kind words. I've spent enough time in and around streams, fishing, I have a good idea about how they should look. As to MR, since I'm not on the staff, I doubt they'd accept an article from me. Also, I've checked into all the hoops you have to jump through to submit an article and I don't think I have enough patience for it.

Jerome, I'm still amazed at how you bang out all of these engines that you have. I hardly find the time to work one 1 and you do 5 or 6.

Grampy, Of course I'm lovin' the Pennsy power.

Bob, always an admirer of you work.

MD, Wow! getting paid to build models. Lucky you.

Here's a shot from the last running night we had at my club. It's a New York Central passenger train. A guy named Wil owns this nice set.

These next 2 shot I found hiding in my computer, but I thought they were cool enough to share. It's a model of the yards in Scranton, PA. Local modelers built it in HO scale and It's an exact replica of the yards in the heyday of steam. One of the neatest things is the coaling ramp in the middle. Now adays it is semi-recreated with a walkway that leads to the adjacent shopping mall. If you can get to Steamtown, It's a great trip.

RMC is really easy to work with and seem to want articles. I haven't seen mine yet but it is supposed to be in the July issue.

Here is a D-D or BB critter, I can't decide. After this photo I took more of my new SD60M but thought this was way more interesting. You all saw the 60M last week anyway. It is on a rhododedron blossom.
Was about an inch across.

For the full photo look in the temp folder on my website but it is about 3Mb. There are a few others there as well.

Go to Railroad Model Craftsman's site, and contact one of the editors, I'm in the process of writing something for them.

Ron, I am lucky enough to have a job where I can work on my trains. Unless there is a helicopter landing for gas, I sit there for 8 hours doing nothing. So I made myself a travel box (with tools, paint, decals etc.) to load on the motorcycle and I take projects with me. I usually work on more than one engine at a time, so while I'm waiting for one thing to dry, I start on another. System works good for me mostly (except tonight, I forgot my small pair of scissors that I use for cutting decals).

John, great shots of the grass and the harbor. Hard to beieve that that background is mostly paper.

MD, nice job recreating the wild west.

Bob, good looking crane and nice scrap heap too. :)

Ron, cool looking NYC units and train but tell Wil to check the coupler heights on those F units. Looks like he's about to lose a train there. Whoever did that yard model had some great modelers working for him. In addition ot the impressive structures, engines, and rolling stock, I like how the track kind of blends into the surrounding scenery, much like an aerial photo. Most layouts have too much track that looks like it's just been laid.

Paul, I'd say that's a D-D but you can keep it for your layout. I already have enough critters taking up residence on mine

Jeffrey, time to get to work on that fence. Looks like Junior there on the left is getting ready sneak away from mom and start climbing. :D

Jerome Thats a great job you have, wish i could do that in mine,,, i'd be sacked in a week if i did anything like that.

I can kinda do what jerome does except for the painting part. Well maybe I could. Not everyone is calling 911 during hte midnight hours. So when its slow i will sometimes break out a kit and put it together. Thats when the fun begins, some co-workers busting my balls about being 28 and playing with trains, my desk sgt. walking by and going chooooo chooooo. I just laugh, its all in good fun.
