I got a reply from my first offer and he has life-like snap track. I was told this is low quality, but he said that he could swap it for brass track. Would this be a good idea?

Snap track = OK, brass track is worth avoiding. It tarnishes quickly and needs to be cleaned far more frequently than the snap track.

If you have brass already, fine. But if you're starting out i'd run from it. It will be a bit more maintenance vs nickle silver. you can get Atlas flex track for under 4 bucks for 3 feet.
