Running Bear's September 2024 Coffee Shop

A fun trip down the Suite: Judy Blue Eyes road... but I had no idea C,S&N couldn't stand to be around each other now...

Troy: I gather your mother passed quite suddenly? You certainly have my sympathies and such empathy as I can spare, given that I'm smack in the middle of a very similar situation.
The Gods are all-too-often unfeeling and unkind. Which leaves it to the rest of us to make up for their selfishness.
I'm sorry for your loss and the hole it leaves. Would that it could help fix it.

Good morning! It's 66° in Tipton.

Three primary causes of Sciatica pain:
Bulging disk in the L4-L5 region
Arthritis deposits in the same area
Tight piriformis muscle

I forgot about the third, and started treating the first two. It's not instant relief on the third, but the attack is different for it. And I can feel how tight it is. That muscle runs right over the sciatica in the rear buttock. So there's a bit of a hostage situation going on.

unfortunately, I don't hurt standing up. And what I want to get done today is sitting stuff. Looks like I'll be walking most of the day.

Morning all,

65° and clear going for 92° later.

Kurt: Feel free on the weather report. I can't always be here to give it for South Central KS. 👍

Troy: Feel better man. Bulging discs are no fun. Mine is C6, C7 and makes my hands hurt.

Not much else in my world.

I did get the opportunity to look at my UP steamer. It's #806, a 4-8-4 unit and painted exactly like the one above.

Good morning to all the achy muscles, bulging discs and creaky bones out there!

Snap, crackle , pop used to be what I ate for breakfast, now it's what I hear before breakfast! Well, at least I have my good looks and my hair!

Speaking of hair why do bald guys still own combs? Is it because they can't part with it??

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy, northerly breeze and 69°, heading up to 90° later on. The sprinkles/drizzle continued all day yesterday, just like Tuesday. The combined 2 day rainfall total in my gauge was 1.8". Never even had a puddle in the 2 days. Some of the cracks in the ground have closed up, but that will only be temporary. Forecast is for these very light north winds to continue for a few days and temperatures will remain in the low-90's and upper-80's for the next 10 days. I'll need the A/C from about noon until 8:00 every day. Pool temperature dropped down to 78° as the result of 3 days without sunshine, I'll see what the next few days do to get it back up to usable before deciding whether to shut it down. I can tolerate 78° but the wife can't, and I'm sure it has gone down even further overnight.

Big honey-do list yesterday, mostly piddling stuff but time consuming. Today is the weekly grocery trek. Only other stop that I know of right now is the pharmacy. After lunch is another PT visit, second to the last one.

Mixed day yesterday out in the train shed. Another causality of the tornado/rainfall/humidity was many of my cardstock background buildings taped to the backdrop.

I reprinted some of them, not all yet because I can't find all of the files. I cut the out and gave them a spray of dull coat.

In order to avoid the "white edge", I used a Sharpie marker to color the edge.

I think that it blends in better with the backdrop. I need to find one other before I mount them.

Jay - What varieties of Tomatoes are grown in Switzerland??? Are American hybrids like Big Boy or Better Girl available over there?
James - I miss Jerome as well. My only contact with him was through the forum's PM system which he hasn't responded to in years. I once searched the web to get late member Gregg's address for him so he could send an anonymous switcher to him. Gregg later told me that he didn't remember ordering it, which for him was not uncommon. I miss him as well.
Troy - There was always some degree of animosity among Crosby, Stills, Nash and later Young over the years.

Today is the birthday's of the late Freddie Mercury of Queen, and the late Raquel Welch , who would have been 82 today.

Everybody have a great day.

If what you need to do involves typing on your laptop, I wonder if a standing desk would be an option.

Good morning crew. I used to think old was anything over 70. Now that I will be 72 on the 29th old is just a state a mind. Most days but not all I feel young…

Yesterday I never even ventured downstairs to my cave let alone the weathering bench or layout. Spent most of the nice morning pultzing in the yard or on the south deck. After lunch I just read a book on my IPadPro on the front porch till dinner time. Around 8 Terry asked me to do something with her

Today is brunch outside the house day! Then to the pharmacy for a medicine refill and to the attached grocery. Seems HyVee has a spend $50 in groceries and get $.50 per gallon off gas perk, today only. My salt for the softener is on the fill in list. It ranges from $6.99 for 40#s to $8.99. When the heck did softener salt get so expensive?

It’s 62f degrees now and low 80’s later. Terry’s TV is not muted (hearing aide issue with Bluetooth) so I am putting up with the talking heads from GMA on ABC this morning. Our local morning lady says the rains may miss us but this will be the last day of 80’s for at least the next 10 days. We could use the rain…

Enjoy the day
