Running Bear's October 2024 Coffee Shop

Just wanted to say:

Today is NOT my anniversary with Mrs Chadbag.

---

It's 74F on the west side of the SL Valley along the Wasatch Front. It was 50F this morning. Big difference from Sunday morning or Saturday morning, when it barely hit 65-67F over night and was close to 90F or 90F during the day.

Time to sit for a while.
I went back up to the donor's house to break down his train table, cut it up and load it in my Tesla.
About part way through, my back snapped, and I had a shooting pain around my side. Prolly slipped a disc again.
Had to leave with what I had in the car and message the rest of the club for someone to pick up the remaining pieces.
Gonna just sit here for the rest of the evening, have a salad and then a Motrin to ease the pain.
This getting old thing is not cool.

Any better?

well, howdy there internet peeps and those celebrating anniversaries.

It's Troy again

Had PT today. She did a re-evaluation on me since I see the ortho doc tomorrow. I still can't walk on my heels (the opposite of tippy-toe walking). One foot works right. The one affected by sciatica just flops to the floor fast as soon as I put weight on it. But everything else was showing improvement over two weeks ago.

I credit the Teeter table and nerve flossing. There are videos on it if you really want to learn how to wiggle your sciatic nerve back and forth.

But, the Teeter table takes up the space where the treadmill was. Now the treadmill is occupying the space I plan to put my helix. Since I don't plan on building that for a couple of years, it should be fine where it is.

Tonight we were going to go to Culvers for burgers, O-rings, and mixers (ice cream with cookie bits and such)... but our culvers is under going renovations. They'll open (we hope) on Oct 4. People are going to be lined up around the shopping plaza to get their cheese curds!

So, we went to the other burger place. Then wife made apple crisp so she could have something with the ice-cream in the freezer. This time she remembered to put the flour in the "crisp" topping over the apples.

I managed to assemble three "raptor" dinos for the orc army to ride. And I applied Vallejo ground cover (spackle in matte medium to resemble sand texture) on the bases for the other orcs.

I'll assemble the riders tomorrow.

At least it wasn't this helicopter!

I kid around about Thomas and friends, but I'm guilty of having them, in HO and large scale!

Good evening. Happy October 1. 63° and damp. No rain here, just clouds and a tiny bit of sun. With the east wind, it felt cold.

I'm starting to feel the effects of the flu shot... I spent a good part of the day working on my "Senior Freeze" tax credit application. I have to get the tax collector's office to complete a form, then I can finish and send it in. (E-File). Today, I was advised that my name, address, SS# and an old, (very old) phone number came up on the "Dark Web". I froze all my credit reports, next step, to freeze all my credit cards. The data dates back to before the turn of the century....based on the phone # and area code. (Long before we ever heard of such things as a Dark Web)....Who knew?

The Orioles lost game 1 of the Wild Card playoff...Hung their starter out to dry...He pitched 8 nearly flawless innings allowing 1 run. One game to elimination. At least Los Mets won 8-4. Amazin' Ya gotta believe!

That scene is fantastic...great bridge build.

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes!

Daughters BB game was outstanding. We beat the rival catholic school that has been a thorn in our side for a couple of years now. It was nice to finally get a win over them on our own court.

have a great night all!

Interesting! Boris who notified you? It was my Capital One credit card that notified me the other day. Just in for medical last week and they are only folks with access to my Ss#

I did all that freezing stuff that you mention

Good for your daughter’s team. High school and middle school basketball doesn’t start till the week before Thanksgiving here In Wisconsin

Spent most of Tuesday at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, Wi. Terry needed to get out of the house today and the Experimental Aircraft Association has been on our list for maybe 20-25 years. We figured over the years we must have passed it while on our travels 200 times. Since Oshkosh is only 90 minutes away, why not. But instead of an out and back day trip, we are overnighting!

I took 641 pictures according to my photo library. I’ll post some tomorrow after I go through them but if you like aircraft from experimental to Warbirds the EAA Museum is a must go to. Well worth the $15.00 ticket to get in.

We headed for dinner after checking into the hotel. Typical Wisconsin Supper Club based on website and thought why not. No reservations taken and hey it Tuesday, how busy could they be? 90 minutes to 2 hours! As we were leaving the parking lot we saw this

I don’t care how you feel or what side of the aisle you are on, this is funny!!! Plus who would waste their f…ing money on this than have the balls to ask for donations to help pay for it?

Thankfully we carry little to no cash on us or Terry would have gotten out of the car
