Good morning all, well almost afternoon.

Sheesh, don't get on till 11:30 and there are flipping 2-1/2 pages to go through. That will have to wait till later.

Been out getting the pool ready for summer fun. I always bring the pump, hoses and filter manifold inside for the winter so they arent exposed to the cold, so Its all together, seals all lubed and assembled.

Gorgeous day to be out. Similar to Tom in Wisconsin's weather in Northern Illinois.

Have a safe day all!

i dont want to offend you or any american.

but when i watch TV or Doc films about the US iam always thinking, damn what are they eating? Of course there are also other americans that eat healthy or so but i think most of the americans eat very unhealthy, or drinking. i mean i love the american fastfood and everything but sometimes i think holy molly thats not healthy at all.

i know also here (in switzerland) there is so much unhealty food, but i try to dodge that.

remember i have this knowledge of the internet and TV, i was once in the US (vegas and thats not really the real US). And i think we all agree on, the world is getting fatter!
AemJay: Yup, we are what we eat although I am like some here - We pretty much only eat fresh or frozen veggies, meat I process ( cut/freeze/grill ); the only canned stuff are pretty much olives and sometimes spaghetti sauce. We find bread/rolls and stuff like that with the least amount of crap included. Heck, I make my own bread sometimes 2 or more times a week. Since we are not OTR anymore, fast food has also gone to the wayside. Sugar/Carbs & Salt are the killer for *lots* of people on this side of the pond. Just google 'Fast Food vs Pharma' and check out a couple of those links. It boils down to a case of three types of corporations: Fast Food types are a direct relationship to the Medical Types and the Pharma types to 'fix' all the problems caused; I.E. they feed each other.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those with a glass of adult beverages locked and loaded (or a mocktail if that's your speed).

It's Troy again.

No trip to see Mom today. Instead I've been on the phone. We just paid off that funeral policy she took out. $2200+ Instead of $4600-ish over the next two years. Now, if she does pass, her pre-planned services are locked in at the rates from 2016.

Called to cancel her renter's insurance. I don't have a POA (yet) and that will be needed. However, the girl did cancel the next auto withdrawal from the account that would happen in three weeks.

We go in Friday for setting up the POA for Healthcare. We've talked with mom about a financial POA, but no definitive answer had been given. Hoping that she will see the wisdom in letting me have one so I can manage affairs from the desk, and not have to drive her all over creation to get addresses changed, accounts closed, etc.

In other news, we're just waiting to see what kind of crew shows for hauling the furniture away tomorrow evening. I'm trying real hard to avoid sugar, but Mom has been trained that when I show up, I bring her a donut. If there is only one in the bag, it won't survive the 1.5 hour trip. And she'll be disappointed. I better get three donuts, so there is one left when I arrive. ;)

Fairly sure I'm going to return the new hearing aids. Not happy with the bluetooth connectivity. I'm running a podcast through them right now and they keep dropping in and out. Less often since I'm inside near surfaces that can reflect the BT signal. But outside, it gets much worse.

Smudge Ah! The C.P.C. I remember it well. None of that Euro nonsense 'in my day'. Pass the exam and that was it.
Taking the exam every five years seems harsh. Just a way of the 'suits' to make more money.
As for the tarpaulin on a bus? Now that I would like to see.

Slowly the railroad is coming back to life. I thought most of the track work was repaired but a couple quick derailments this morning need the reasons figured out. I do believe since it was the same car derailing, it’s the car and not the track, I should know sometime today!

It’s the reason I will be testing the equipment, track and switch lists over the next weeks. Frustrating at times but mostly fun

This is the morning 0700 run (not named yet) from Paper Mill Yard (pym) with 8 cars for the paper mill. Pulp and Woodchip cars, a couple box cars and a tank car for delivery. The return trip to PMY will be a 12 car train per the work orders…

Over the next few weeks as I adjust the switch lists, work orders and scheduling I already see some adjustments and even a few deletions coming to the freight car roster. I’m shocked that I need to put on the layout a few more pulpwood cars but need to remove a few sulfur cars in exchange for more acid cars. It’s why I’m testing

After building up my intermodal fleet and then

eliminating run throughs (it’s a point to point switching layout now) I will be selling well cars and containers. That’s disappointing

You don't have to be fat to have fatty liver disease. They say start adding lemon juice to all your fruit drinks. It can acid away all the fat built up over time. I buy the Ocean Spray Cranberry and Mixed Berry Zero Sugar / No Artificial Sweeteners drink. Then I add some lemon juice to that just in case I have some fatty deposits building up. If you look at the label on the regular Ocean Spray juice it says something like 45% sugar added. Lots of sugar is in everything like hamburger and hot dog rolls. Look at the labels and then decide how much cutting back will I be willing to commit to. They also say you should add 5% Apple Cider Vinger to your salades. You can also add things to improve your health.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day doing chores inside and outside. After helping MOH with a quilting project I headed up to the train room where I cleaned the wheels on 8 locomotives. Only 10 more to go. I'm not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow.

Hughie- Looks like no mold. That's good.

David- Or as I see it, they are cheating their customers. Have fun with granddaughter today.

TomO- Lucky you. I can count how many times MOH has apologized to me...one time in 46 years. Great layout photos.

Joe- That photo is right on target.

Guy- I think that will work well with scenery and landscaping materials.

Louis- Happy belated Birthday.

Smudge- The only thing that government excels at is wasting taxpayer time and money.

John U.- That's the only Cadillac I can afford.

Willie- Best of luck with the contractors. Happy Birthday to your grandsons. I am very sorry to hear about the water leakage on the layout. We have the scavengers here also.

Mac- Very cool photos.

Troy- You definitely need that legal paperwork. I have all of it on Dad.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Here is one more from my trip to Clifton Forge:View attachment 190430
I have no clue what a New York Central painted E series is doing there, maybe it's a former C&O engine.

VLIX E-9A #4906, which has quite the storied history. The unit is Ex Amtrak E-9A #417(Acquired in 1971), Exx Union Pacifc E-8A #918(Acquired in late 1963), Exx EMD 'The Train of Tomorrow' Demonstrator E-7A which was built in 1947! The unit was never a New York Central unit, and received this paint after it was saved from the scrappers torch in the mid 80's.

Are you telling me that this was an E7 originally, rebuilt into E9?

Tom-Did you ever have a build thread on this layout?

Interesting you would say this...but when you think about it...yeah! Now, throw in the Food Network style cooking shows with their very liberal use of sodium, and all the store made prepaid meals at ShopRite or Wegmans (for example)...they do feed or of one another.

Stars and the Oil at 8:30 EST...TNT and SN and probably a French Channel. O's lead Red Soxs 5-1 top of 3rd. Bums giving the Mets a third straight beat down..
Currently 68° with increasing clouds. Got to 79° this afternoon, going to 57° overnight with a 50% chance of rain. I can live with this for a while.
Water bill came today, $50. The bill said we used the same amount of water during the same billing period last year. (3000 Gal). Last year was $45.
No, their ain't no inflation according to TV. It's our imagination.
