Looks like a very light attendance. Prolly due to the blizzard heading their way.
I have my agent in there now letting me know of stuff I might want.

Good Morning everyone....over cast and cloudy here in this part of Wisconsin.

Willie pointed out that Scale Trains has new 4 axle locomotives in the pipeline and they are equipped with capacitors for better operation. I pre-ordered a C&NW locomotive. I watched a demo of locomotives equipped with different types of capacitors and the length they move after running on to dead track and the travel distance is impressive. I missed Scale Train's email in my inbox so again thank you Willie and I'll blame you when the credit card comes and the wife sees another locomotive that I've purchased.

There's an old saying that goes "Locomotive rich and money poor".

Terry: That picture of that old refrigerator reminds me of the old that was on the porch of the cabin we used to rent near Hayward, Wisconsin. We were 4.5 miles of the main road on a gravel fire road so I guess that we were in the middle of nowhere. The refrigerator lack a lot of space for ice cubes and the container of leeches usually froze if kept in the refrigerator over-night. Bears were a constant problem and at night I always carried a weapon when walking in the woods to the cabin of the owner. We had a good deal that we paid $125 a week but we could keep our fishing equipment and outboard in the cabin between trips. Its was like have your own cabin in the woods.

Looking like we may get the first major snow storm of the season next week if the temperatures stay where they are right now. If its gets colder, the low could move to the south and we may not get any snow!

Has anyone order scenery materials from Model Scenes in the Czech Republic? I did an order using PayPal and I haven't heard any thing from Model Scene. It looks like a hassle to try and get a reimbursement from PayPal. I guess I'll just sit and wait and see what happens, especially with an international order.

Timer for a lunch break....

Greg

Greg, you should have no issue with PayPal. Just cancel the order and it will be refunded in like 3 days. Finishing your pulp cars this afternoon as FYI

How long ago did you order it?

Yeah, that’s had me scratching my cranial region for the past 2 years. COVID is a respiratory virus, not a GI one.
Apparently with stuff flying off the shelf everyone could find some type of food to eat,but there was a threatened wood shortage and what’s an off shoot of wood and apparantly the romans idea of using sponges and reusing them did not appeal, luckily I was not effected weeks before my supermarket had a 1/3 off offer too good to miss on aloe Vera covered and I had bought up like a years worth, hence the tip issue going over my head. I did hear of people cashing in and selling them for silly money, I kept stum, had there been an actual shortage we have loads of newspaper once very popular, and we probably would have shared out the tp if there had been a real crisis, as I used toilet paper at family’s in the day and newspaper for fish and chips was considered perfectly healthy,I did ‘hide’ them in a cardboard box 📦 so as to not raise a fracas.
On another point we have chickens and ducks and we gave away free eggs to those down our street for a while, sone people took ‘em, sone people reciprocated with something else,eg nice monthly magazines which they had read but were of interest, sone offered cash which we did not take. you certainly learn something about people, one person thought I was selling not giving away free and was slightly rude,so one they got no eggs, and two they are on my dick ‘dad list. We had to stop our birds going around the front of the house though as delivery drivers were Laing far too much attention, one driver was literally standing their asking questions brazenly until I pointed out swans can break an arm or even a leg and my guard geese were big and fast…I did not explain there are also total chickens and really fast when retreating. Still the fence was moved back and the birds placed out of sight.
I did say to a couple of people if the supposed Xmas turkey did come up short I could cull a few boy Muscovy ducks 14in plus and good meat, luckily for the bird the turkeys arrived in o ur area. we keep too many birds,we should cull more than we do over winter, but the way they cock their heads at you,and trust you and come to you knowing you’ll give them a treat - worms are favourite, is just so cute.

Take that with a grain of salt. The statistics can be misleading due to fearmongering by certain officials, as early in the "pandemic" many hospitalizations/deaths were erroneously classified as "due to Covid" when they were really "with Covid".
However, since there was so much that was unknown at the time, we had no national policy with regards to testing and reporting, a big failure on the part of government.
True ‘with Covid’ is a serious issue messing up figures.

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Pleased to announce the Burlington F45 is now up and running on DCC 😎

Taken me a lot longer than I expected, mainly because I couldn't get the motor to to run, which it did when I put it in it's box a few weeks ago.

Luckily for me, I discovered it before I started to re-assemble it. The reason was one I didn't think of, the spring that holds the brush in place had disappeared, I hadn't removed the clip, so the spring should still have still been there, it was the reason I didn't look at for at least 2 hours. luckily I had a replacement spring from my OO gauge, once fitted, all was well, but boy was I getting frustrated with it 😊

Looks like we're tryin to see how close we can get to smut on a family forum.
Really teachin the kids about the real world, huh?
Heck, why not just post your links to your porn pages?
Printing out the names of real places, and I know worst, but as clearly have posted a complaint I’ll refrain, otherwise I would have done worse. but I suspect any kids who come here are of an age and if internet savvy to have seen far worse. I respect you do not want this, and I bet he does too now but I think comparing to linking to porn is a tad over kill. The figures we model on here naked, peeing, having sex surely would be considered worse by some, and yet we come on and we all snigger. as a woman I come on here to what is mostly a male play room, and I take it or take myself elsewhere.

Please be aware this is not an attack on you or your comment, I sympathise if your offended, but he did not use bad language, and reporting those names is not indecent.
Apologies to anyone who disagrees with me,and if they wish a comeback at me for defence,,then please feel free to comment. I adddd my 5 Lenny earth, so why should not anyone else. This is not a bun fight I don’t want anyone to feel bad,but I think Smudge meant no harm, and yes we are both Brits, and maybe there is a cultural difference, but in the UK you would be hard pressed to find anyone offended,so if you are I am sorry, and as stated I won’t add mine as your comment clearly prefers we don’t.
I re read this so hopefully do not mess up.

Afternoon All,

Spent about 4 tedious hours applying shingles to the freight house sub-roof. I decided to apply the shingles with transfer tape instead of white glue. Each have their challenges, but with glue you tend to get dried glue on top of the shingles. The black voids are where structures sit. Tomorrow the low is supposed to be 30-32 F.

Willie- Nice looking buildings. Unfortunately, the GP30 is about 10 years too new for me. Maybe it should be fortunately?

Sherrel- I used to have frequent back pain issues while working in EMS (frequent heavy lifting). This is the first time in 7.5 years I have had an issue (since retiring).

Joe- That's a lot of snow.

Ken (IL)- Good luck to your grandson and his team.

Smudge- Video?

Of course, it will be weathered and have a ridge cap put on it.

I hope everyone has a good night.
