Good Morning All. Overcast and 60°. Misted and sprinkled yesterday from around 4:00 pm through at least midnight. That wasn't in the forecast. I have 0.1" in the gauge. Upper-60's to mid-70's until Wednesday when the next cold front brings 50's and near freezing overnight. Should have let the fire in the wood-burner go out overnight, it's a tad warm in here this morning.
Yesterday had it's highs and lows, I put up the Christmas tree in the morning, 2 days earlier than I usually put it up. Didn't decorate since I haven't gotten out the step ladder to get into the attic yet. All decorations are within reach of the access hole. Then the horrible drive to Dallas for granddaughter's birthday party/dinner. I gave myself an hour and a half for a 55 minute drive, since it was during Friday afternoon rush hour in two cities. Well, the rain complicated things and the alternate route through a small town of 9000 people to avoid an accident on the Interstate near where we get on, was an added disaster. Others had done the same. The backup at the 4-way stop sign was 1/2 mile long and took an extra 10 minutes to navigate. Then it was stop and go 20 mph traffic for the next 21 miles until I got to the tollway circling Dallas. There it was moving at 70+ mph, but by then we were already way behind schedule. That 55 minute drive took 2 hours and we were 30 minutes late. Then things got better with the actual party.
The ride home was much better except for one half mile stretch on the NW side of Denton. It's always a problem spot where the Interstate shrinks from 3 lanes to 2, but last night there was an accident blocking one of the lanes
after it narrowed down...so 3 lanes to 1. while that only added about ten more minutes to the drive, it was agonizing sitting through that traffic. But we got home safely after having a good time with the relatives.
Today's plan includes getting that Christmas tree decorating stuff out of the attic. I'm responsible for the lights and the Angel on top, and then I hand the rest over to my wife. After lunch, it may dry out enough to do some outdoor stuff.
Obviously no train shed time yesterday; but I thought about it! No pictures today either since I slept in late and I need to get the rest of the day started.
Cursive - At work I actually dealt with some beautiful examples of cursive writing, but it all came from folks educated in Mexican schools. I was told that it is considered an art form in the Catholic schools down there. The American educated folks couldn't read or write cursive unless they were older than me.
East Coast drones - I believe that it is getting over-hyped now.
Todd - Most of your posts yesterday were over my head!

But they made for interesting reads.
Karl - So I guess that we'll be seeing finished scenes on your layout by New Years Day 2025???
Nostradamus was born on this day in 1503. Bet he didn't see that I would post this today.
Everyone have a wonderful Saturday.
