For a hundred you could get a single 2tb. If you try to do RAID, it will slow everything to the speed of the slowest drive. Kind of like ram, if you have a 2133 and a 3200, all the ram will run at 2133.
Hence buy 2 - they would be the same speed.
In any event, ima gonna leave playing around with this for a future date. I do not use the laptop all that much and it is back to being 'perky' which works for me just now. Probably will double the memory too as there is an empty slot. Current memory is not ranked, so will look into that.

Cursive, I never was good at it. I went to public schools.

The lady who raised me, born in 1899, had beautiful cursive handwriting. As did my daughter and my two sisters. My daughter and two sisters went to the same Catholic School. All four ladies were taught the Palmer Method of Cursive Writing. All four had remarkably similar handwriting, so much so I could not tell them apart.

Good morning from Wisconsin

Drones, definitely not over hyped. They are out there and the military doesn’t know where they come from? I call BS on that. We can track submarines but not a mothership carrying drones. Our military has not slipped that badly. My dollar says it’s a military program

The girls (wife, sister and granddaughter) are going to see Moana 2 this afternoon! We all watched Moana the original last night after Volleyball on ESPN2. The Badger Women move onto Nebraska where a miracle in Nebraska will be declared if the Badgers beat the Huskers! We can only hope. Peace and real quietness comes to the house between 1pm and probably 5 as after the movie they will head over to enjoy some ice cream.

I will be heading at 10am local to the daughter’s studio to work on my new weathering shop to be built over there! My space has to fit in cosmetically to her existing decor! She has moved her 5 printers and 2 lasers to one side of my space to form a U shaped space. I get the base of the U. I need to double check dimensions for the shelf where the trains will be and figure the height for my benches. These will be sit down benches but since I will be using bar height stools they will be higher than the normal desk top heights. I just need to find what’s comfortable (41”) for me. The shelf layout will be about 14 to 18” above the work benches. The stand up spray booth is already in position (the bottom is 44”) and will be the end point for one edge of the layout. After I have the dimensions and heights all figured out I will draw up the cutting chart for the lumber but I will do that here at the house. I have a 20’ long space for my part of the shop to work with. I can have another 40’+ of wall space in the future to the left side of the U. On that side though I would need to build storage under and over the layout. That would put the layout truly as a shelf (shadow box) between the storage but that’s a thought for way down the road. I did check lumber prices yesterday. It is still crazy high in my opinion.

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Overcast and 60°. Misted and sprinkled yesterday from around 4:00 pm through at least midnight. That wasn't in the forecast. I have 0.1" in the gauge. Upper-60's to mid-70's until Wednesday when the next cold front brings 50's and near freezing overnight. Should have let the fire in the wood-burner go out overnight, it's a tad warm in here this morning.

Yesterday had it's highs and lows, I put up the Christmas tree in the morning, 2 days earlier than I usually put it up. Didn't decorate since I haven't gotten out the step ladder to get into the attic yet. All decorations are within reach of the access hole. Then the horrible drive to Dallas for granddaughter's birthday party/dinner. I gave myself an hour and a half for a 55 minute drive, since it was during Friday afternoon rush hour in two cities. Well, the rain complicated things and the alternate route through a small town of 9000 people to avoid an accident on the Interstate near where we get on, was an added disaster. Others had done the same. The backup at the 4-way stop sign was 1/2 mile long and took an extra 10 minutes to navigate. Then it was stop and go 20 mph traffic for the next 21 miles until I got to the tollway circling Dallas. There it was moving at 70+ mph, but by then we were already way behind schedule. That 55 minute drive took 2 hours and we were 30 minutes late. Then things got better with the actual party.
The ride home was much better except for one half mile stretch on the NW side of Denton. It's always a problem spot where the Interstate shrinks from 3 lanes to 2, but last night there was an accident blocking one of the lanes after it narrowed down...so 3 lanes to 1. while that only added about ten more minutes to the drive, it was agonizing sitting through that traffic. But we got home safely after having a good time with the relatives.

Today's plan includes getting that Christmas tree decorating stuff out of the attic. I'm responsible for the lights and the Angel on top, and then I hand the rest over to my wife. After lunch, it may dry out enough to do some outdoor stuff.

Obviously no train shed time yesterday; but I thought about it! No pictures today either since I slept in late and I need to get the rest of the day started.

Cursive - At work I actually dealt with some beautiful examples of cursive writing, but it all came from folks educated in Mexican schools. I was told that it is considered an art form in the Catholic schools down there. The American educated folks couldn't read or write cursive unless they were older than me.
East Coast drones - I believe that it is getting over-hyped now.
Todd - Most of your posts yesterday were over my head!;) But they made for interesting reads.
Karl - So I guess that we'll be seeing finished scenes on your layout by New Years Day 2025???

Nostradamus was born on this day in 1503. Bet he didn't see that I would post this today.
Everyone have a wonderful Saturday.
In college I had an electrical engineering professor who wrote with perfect script on the blackboard.
It was a shame to see him erase it. He spoke with perfect diction and it was a pleasure to hear him
speak. Didn't have much time to admire his skill since I was busy taking notes that only I could
decipher.

Good afternoon all.

A much later check-in than usual. Been pretty busy thus far.

Currently 32 degrees and our steady rain is trying to change over to snow but has not yet.

Last nights Christmas program was really nice. Its fun to watch the little ones in their dis organized short attention span get through 3 songs without fidgeting. They were really belting out the singing though. Kind of sad that this will probably be our last one to have to attend. We went for a nice meal afterward, but had a bit of a wait time since everyone else that was in attendance had the same idea.

Pretty much done with household tasks, so its time for the recliner nap, then maybe head to the basement to play with trains.

Have a safe day everyone!

Pretty much the whole family has Apple Watches, but not me
I was a long-time holdout, getting one for my wife, and a great nephew. When my wife passed away, I inherited hers, which was a first gen.
I used it daily, though I could tell it was getting outdated by how slow it started working. Apple made me an offer I couldn't refuse on a new model, so I upgraded. It is handy, but not indispensable.
