Nice work!! I love seeing engines that have just been patched instead of being repainted. Its nice to still see the SP colors. This is what ill be doing to my SP SD40T-2's :D

Nice work, very interesting, and a nice video. May I ask what type of camcorder did you use to shoot with?

Honestly I cannot remember what I used. It may have been any combination of Flip MinioHD, Canon HV20, Sony Webbie and Canon EOS7D.
 
Very nice job overall, especially the fading of the lettering. It's always hard to tell from photos, but my one suggestion would be to tone down the sill stripe and the safety stripes on the steps. They look to clean and bright to match the state of the rest of the engine. I guess you could argue the safety stripes and handrails would have been repainted when the unit was patched, but I don't think the same would have happened to the sill stripe.
 
WOW.... your SD40 looks and sounds seriously real, from the faded paint to the patched road number. Who knows, maybe my [Athearn RTR] SD45T-2's will look like this someday....
