I'm planning a large layout (about 20'x25' ) and was planning on doing 100% hand laid track. I'm in no hurry ... But ... I'm going to have quite a bit of "hidden" track like inside tunnels and behind the scenes and staging yard etc. I'm considering "cheating" and using flextrack for those sections.

Atlas flex track runs about $1 / foot in bulk, and Micro Engineering runs about $2/foot. I really like ME quality but was wondering if for hidden trackage it makes a difference ? Since it wont be seen I dont care about details of the ties etc, just mechanical and electrical quality.

Any opinions ?

Save yourself some money for other layout materials, engines, or rolling stock... Go with Atlas Code 100 track in the hidden sections
