Hi everyone,

I just installed a N14IP NCE decoder in a Broadway Blueline AC6000cw. I was able to program it fine, but it runs backwards ie fwd is bwds and bwds is fwds. I know what your thinking--turn the decoder around. That wont work because it cannot/will not fit. (I tried it anyways and it doesnt fix it). Ive sent an email to Broadway, but wondering if anybody has experienced this. this is one of the recommended decoders by broadway.

There's a CV that controls the normal direction of travel, just change that.
I do it all the time, but with digitrax not NCE.

It's because of the way that the board plugs in. You have to program CV 29 bit 0 to a 1

Two easy fixes, your choice:

Read back cv 29. Add 1 to whatever value you get.

Swap the orange & gray wires to the motor.

He doesn't have the option to swap wires. The way the AC6000 is designed, the decoder he used only fits in one way which flips the engine direction.

So it goes. I don't have anything that new, so I don't think about individual model characteristics, just what can be done in most given situations. Hope the headlights don't flip flop too!

Hey guys thanks for the help. I ended up just reprogramming to default factory settings and then reprogramming it again and it works fine now.

Yep, if the decoder makes the engine run backwards, and you can't change the decoder's orientation, there is a page in the manual for that.

First, you take the decoder out, pull the plug out of the sound-only decoder that is indicated in the diagram, then plug it into the empty socket. Put the decoder back in, program CV 29 to reverse the direction, then you're all set.

That's what I did to my AC6000 when I had that problem.
