I am thinking of buying a new intemountain loco that comes with a DCC decoder built in. I have never had an intermountain loco. Does anyone know how they compare to Athern Genesis, Kato, MTH?
 
Their diesels usually get good reviews. Steamers are hit and miss, with the Cab Forward being generally rated a miss.....on two successive runs, despite IM offering to improve the second.

I had a customer order one of the HO cab forwards from me when they came out a couple months ago. He said it was a GREAT runner and the sound was good as well. He also said it was a great puller and pulled quite a few cars on the club layout he was running it on.

The new Intermountain ES44AC's and ES44DC's I think are going to be top notch. I know everyone is expecting it to be a big hit (and they already have been for me, 34 of them on pre-order so far for customers). IM knows the expectations with these new locomotives, and im confident that these ES44's will be just about the best locomotive on the market when they are released
