Seen this in a video, it's a helper link used to disconnect from the rear of a train on the fly. Had to build one. In doing the research found a 3d printed one online.

Some nice modeling you have there, something I really like is the Homer Simpson graffiti on the CN DWC 793 953 car. Is it something you bought, or did you make it yourself? Either way, I like it a lot!

That sure is a beautiful locomotive, maybe someday I'll go see it.

It's worth a visit. It's also out of the way of any towns. Distance from Ogden is probably about 40 miles and you definitely will feel like almost being there in XIX century if you turn your back away from the visitor center.

BNSF 7059 is headed north, down the grade from Napavine, WA, where they left out the second unit to send back down the hill to the south to help a stalled train at Vader, WA. I even got a wave!

And the stalled train at Vader, WA. It made it almost 3 miles up the grade before it stalled. 13 more miles to go to the top...

In the light, a Rivarossi U25b (?, box ends are gone), complete with horn hooks, after decades of resting in the foam lined box. The only foam left is what us see.
The gray half way down the side, spidy web!

The Homer graffiti is a decal from Circus City Decals, https://circusdecals.ecwid.com

I do some custom graffiti work but I really prefer the decals. They are easy, quick and after weathering they blend in so you really cannot tell

I had a bunch of auto racks and reefers where I did custom graffiti on one side and decals on the other. That’s when I decided, the decals work out ok

Oh the old crumbling foam from the late 1960s early 1970s. I've got a few units ruined by that stuff.
