ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
I actually don’t have any pics of my models from the front but you did say any scale right? This is my ten foot long outside layout, shortest short line ever!
I picked a 1:1 after looking at the first new post, here is one of Ron Nixon's photos in front of the familiar Wyoming Minnesota depot:
Number 328 still lives at the Roundhouse in St. Paul. I have many pictures of this famous engine, also am modelling it for the layout. Unfortunately, the tender fell when moving and I need a couple of those little springs for the tender trucks. It is an old Varney Casey Jones.
The building on the right is still there, a good restaurant called the Cornerstone. It was build around 1910. The depot was demolished several years ago, in a couple stages.
Here's DGNO 3496 at their locomotive facility in Carrollton, TX in March of last year. The SD40-2 entered service in 1979 with BN as #8072. In the back is CFNR 111, a GP15-1 built in 1976 for the CNW.
It's the tail-end on a long, empty hopper train with another pair of engines pulling up front. The hoppers are being delivered to the staging yard, and the engines will pull out another train of loaded cars, and head back Edmonton way.
