Andy, I agree with Josh, nice looking engines but that EL "SDP-45" is one fine looking model.

I need to take some better color pics of it. The black & whites are 11 years old now. I did some reworking of the roof line in 2007 and I haven't gotten any really good photos that show it. It's a difficult loco to shoot in color under indoor light for some reason.

Here's a more recent pic, but still before I changed the roof. Notice the remains of the busted horn - that's fixed now. I took this picture to show how I was able to make an SDP45 mu with a Bachmann Shay:)

not to hijack trucklovers original thread. But we should make this a sticky to show off your loco's. Yea we have the photofun, but this would just for showing off your old, current, new loco's you have. I must've stocked up on atleast 12 engines the past 5 months, which is alot for me.

Nice steamers GN!! Im not a fan of steam but those look good :D

This is my only group shot of the Superfleet:

Larger version here, too big to post in-line on the forum:

This pic is a couple years old - I've since finished another U-boat (early U30B) and a GP40. GP40 pic was posted in my previous entry. So my official Superfleet for N&W is at 20 locos... out of a planned 80 or so. If I live to be 200 I might get there.

Burlington Norhtern Santa Fe SD75I

Latest Addition to the roster, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe SD75I in the Warbonnet Paint Scheme. This ones number is 8277. She also needs some work done to her. I got this from Eric, aka ThoroughBreed, as a trade for my un-numbered SP SD70M.

Things that need to be done to this loco are:

*replace front and rear handrails/fix handrail break on right side behind the cab
*Sand off some minor glue marks and re-paint the sanded spots to match
*Paint metal Grab Irons
*Dust and clean off loco
*Weather the entire loco
*apply KADEE #5 Couplers
*Install DCC Decoder and make it DCC Compatible

All and all, i like this loco :mistht:

**UPDATE FEBRUARY 25, 2009**

I took the handrails off since i bought a new set for this loco anyways. Chris pointed out that he had thought this was a SD70MAC instead of a SD70M. Its actually neither of those, this loco is a SD75I lol. No problem, I also got a set of SD70/75 handrails, so i can just use that set and paint it BNSF Silver for this model.

The reason i pulled all the handrails off and not just the ones on the front and rear (which needed to be replaced anyways because they were broken off on the bases of the rails) is because there were glue marks at the bases where the rails attached to the loco's walkways. So i sanded them down and now all i have to do is repaint the sides BNSF red and touch up the Fuel Tank that i accidentally brushed up against lol. I also need to paint the grab irons so ill do this too....

Once it is re-pained, i will also need to re-puncture the wholes for the handrails as some of them got covered when i sanded of them, and im sure some more will get plugged with paint when i re-paint the sides of the walkways and the front and rear "porches", no biggy

Here are a couple pics with the locos handrails removed and the sides, front and rear sanded down. I also did some minor sanding on the roof of the cab next to the antenna and on one of the sunshades to remove some glue marks. This only has one sunshade so i will also need to get another and add it on in the BNSF Red (which by the way i need paint to match the BNSF red so if anyone knows what to use, id appreciate some help on that). I think i might also replace the antenna and add some more details to the front of the loco... Thats later lol

Well, Gotta get all mine out in a row tomorrow & take a few photo's. Last year I sold about 10 of my older diesels & all 15 of my steam engines. So, the last time I took a shot of mine for this forum it was about 2006.

Very nice. Are you going to patch that for the UP or leave it?

All my SP and CNW locos will eventually be patched for UP. If the loco number has been changed to a new number for UP (which i think they all have been) then i will change it to the new UP number. But if they have been re-painted in UP colors, i will not re-paint mine, just patch it with the new number. I like my locos to have old paint on them and i think that it adds more character to see a patched loco then a loco with just a new paint job. Plus i could never ruin a SP or CNW paint job :D :D

Loading up on the goods are ya? :)

LOL you know it :D Hopefully i can score these, the guy has them on hold for me as of right now, just trying to gather the money to pay for them lol

I'm getting motive power envy. :) I've got a grand total of 20 engines if I include dummies and one old Hallmark FP-9 that will run for about 5 feet if I whack it with a stick.

larry nice collection. Any of those Amtrak units up grabs someday?

Trucklover, jesus. You win the lottery or something? By tomorrow there wont be an HO section on ebay. lol

Enough of the silliness! Larry has given me inspiration, kind of.
Here ya go guys, 1 Shot is all ya get! 68 powered locos, all DCC 'cept for the 1 brass diesel that needs paint yet, 4 trolleys and 9 cabeese, all in 1 display cabinet. Kinda neat what you can do with an old Sauder bookcase and some sliding glass doors! Some of the risers are foam, the rest are plastic spice racks! The lights are cable lights from Home Depot! (Sorry about the reflection from my computer!)
There is another smaller cabinet, with 5 locos and 6 brass cabeese (soon to add 3 more) not pictured.
