DCC HHP8 Not respond to DCC Commands

We just purchased a Bachmann DCC Engine for my son. It will work on DC, forward/backward,Lights....

When we attempt to run in on the DCC track, we can not re-program the Engine Addr from the default 3, nor will the light work(F10) via the function keys, or any other commands.

We checked the that the decoder is installed, we removed it and put it back in to make sure it was set correctly.

We have a another DCC Engine, A Union Pacific from Paragon2 that works fine, it reacts to all 20+ commands from the same controller.

We are using MRC Tech 6 Sound Controller 6.0

Do we have the right combination of Controller and Enginee?

If its the Bachmann Dual mode decorder it needs to reprograming on the main,
My F40PHR was the same way

Don't program ot on the program track. Put it on the main track and program it there. Remove all other locos from the track first.

Take all locos off the track, put the loco on, program in OPS/Operations mode with no address inputted into the throttle.
