The city is going as planned. It’s still missing a lot of the detail – electrical and telephone poles, weeds, crossing gates etc. With out the detail it looks a little bland especially the road bed but in a few weeks everything should look fine.

Progressing nicely there. I hope the town on my layout will look that good.
Looks good to me, George. Adding all those little details is the fun part for me.
Nice! What did you use for that concrete street?
I used the Walther’s street system and grade crossing for the road ways. I then hit everything with some fine synthetic steel wool to dull it all up. I then painted some Evergreen .30 styrene for the asphalt in the industrial areas. If your going to use any of the details that come with the roadway manholes etc. The cuts have to be almost exact especially the water drains.

George, that's a really nice downtown. What is the depth of your benchwork there? My downtown will look similar, but didn't know how wide the streets will be. in order to fit everything in.
looking good Grorge. Looks like a nice buisness district. the streets have plenty of room to swing a truck of that era around those corners. I took a picture of the water pipe down at my club that was disguised into a water tower. I will have to post it here for you to see if it can give you a better idea of how we helped hide it.
Trent
Trey I hope this helps. The benchwork at the widest point is 28 inches. The Wather’s streets with side walks are 7 1/8 inches wide. From where the tracks and station are located to the streets is 11 ½ inches and from the streets to the building and industrial siding is 9 3/8 inches.
Trent that will be good if you can do that for me.

What company makes that passenger station? The town looks really nice so far.
I took a bad pic of this pipe so sorry about that..
the water pipe is plastic PVC. the water tower is to resemble a simple water storage tank. the tank is Made from printed paper with the local community seal.
we call this aera foamers park. if you can see the figures they are all train buffs. It was made by a member that had never done any scenery work before. I think it turned out good.

Awesome work on that town!
Trent that's a great water tower thank's for the post.
Chris the station is called City Station Walther’s part # 933-2904 17- 5/8 X 5- 7/8 X 4- 3/8 on sale at Walther’s for $38.98. It was given to me by one of our club members. The passenger shed is Walther’s part # 933-3188 also on sale for $22.98. If the station wasn’t a gift I would have bought the smaller Walther’s Whitehall brick station kit # 933-3188 $22.98 or the assembled Pella brick depot really nicely done at $64.98.
Thank's Dawolf, Jim, Beachbum, Trey and Josh

Nice job on the town and depot. I kind of laugh because I'm using the same kit in the same general setting. Two tracks, on the edge of the layout with a street crossing at the end. I'm using two of the city station kits in order to add another story on to the depot. Nice work so far! It helps me see how mine will look.

Hi George!
Really nice work in that city scene.
How many Walther’s street system kits did you use?
Greetings,
Mário
Thanks, George.
My town side of the layout is 32", but I have two tracks, and the near track (to the station) is farther from the edge than yours is. I'll have to play with some of the dimensions to see if I use the Walther's streets or not, simply because some of my buildings are rather deep.
Mario there's 6' 8" of road and I think I bought 5 kits but I'm not sure.
