Building the Andersley Western Railroad

Just love that loco for some reason!
Those drums next or close to the dumpster really need some "streaking/grease on them. They are much to clean to be around a maintenance facility ... and they have NOT been just delivered ...so, don't try and sell me on that!

Yep, lots of weathering still to do...... ;)

The wrapped lumber load is one of Matt's. As his layout is no more during a house move, there are some items which are available for use on the AWR. I guess they are commercially available ones.

Great images love the detail!! Always inspiring to see your efforts Alan, great you get to use Matt's stuff too.

All Santa Fe session today. B23-7 switches the CHS plant, B40-8 and GP38 leave the siding and GP30 switches the grain elevator. A recently acquired MRL hopper is pressed into grain service before being weathered!

I spotted this old dinosaur switching a transfer from Lewistown in Andersley today.

Saw this on my phone last night and wanted to see it on a larger screen. That is a great job of weathering. Sort of looks a bit like what a Milwaukee Road locomotive could look like.

Haha. I was going to have a locomotive like that from an affiliate railroad on my railroad. With a rule requiring a backup locomotive to prevent a breakdown from blocking the mainline.

Thats a great looking load for sure Alan. But the car has peaked my interest. Is it a kit bash of 2 Walthers cars? The three tucks on each end is intriguing.

Sorry Tom, I missed your query.

When I was producing my range of N scale kits I also produced a few different cars in HO scale, including the two types of depressed center cars shown. They are cast in pewter so are nice and heavy! I also did two different 5-unit spine cars in etched nickel with cast pewter detail parts.

The N scale kits are still in production by Peter Harris ( www.nscalekits.com ), but the HO ones were not taken over by anyone so just have these samples left.

So to answer your question, they were part of the Alan Curtis Models line.
