I can't get the main engine volume to go up. I can change the master volume and the volumes of various other things like the horn or bell. But can't get the engine volume to go up. Its really low right now. Also, when I change the engin volume cv 52.10, the horn volume is what gets changed. Weird huh? Do you think a master reset of the loco will fix this?
Use the magnetic wand to change the volume if programming CVs doesn't work. If all the sounds are at max, turn down the turbo volume as it's too high anyway out of the box (and you can't hear anything else)
i agree. i just got a atlas gold gp40-2 and had to turn the turbo and prime mover volume down to 7. Otherwise it has a whine to it that is like someone whistling in your ear. Great locomotive though, and with the sound adjusted now, its even better.
I did a master reset and it fixed it. I can now program like normal. I'm also using JMRI Decoder Pro and Panel Pro and the QSI Quantum programmer. I've been having all kinds of fun programming my Atlas locos now. I put an awesome sound file into this particular engine today. I'm not sure if its prototypical or what, but it sounds awesome.
